I like how some ppl app to endgame ls's a specific job claiming they got np playing it all the time... then after joining, they *** about being locked on that job lol.

I can see an LS leader making a very simple rule change to avoid this, and I haven't been able to think of a flaw in it yet.
Whoever is actually ON that job at the time takes priority over people who aren't. I.E., someone on PLD takes priority over the SAM that didn't feel like tanking today. The exception is that if you were ASKED to come a different job (i.e. wanted to come RNG, asked to come BRD,) then you keep the same higher priority as if you had come on that job.
Yes, in that example, they'd take priority on RNG and BRD lots at the same time, but if they were asked to come on BRD, that means their BRD is needed, and should be improved if possible. And if they don't like coming BRD, they could always try to recruit one somewhere else so that they can come RNG more often ;p
Biggest problem I see with this is something along the lines of, say, Dyna-xarc. Once half your LS is trying to show up as RDM, it begins to become a moot point, especially if people realize that by saying they'd like to come RDM will mean they'll likely be asked to come something else to balance the run.
Out of DRG, SAM, COR, and PLD, I'm almost always asked for COR. So much so that while I've had PLD 75 since early this year, and have yet to legitimately build any gear sets for it, as I only ever get to use it for my own endeavors.

This wouldn't change anything... people wanting a certain drop for a certain job would just ask to come that job knowing they will be reassigned. There will be the odd instance where this would stop someone leeching gear for a job they hate playing to benefit the linkshell as a whole, but it just seems like yet another extra headache for leaders to deal with.

A conversation in regards to the upcoming level cap hike came up in our LS the other day and the fact that some people are likely to abandon some of their current 75s and not take them all the way to 99 once we reach that point. I'm curious as to how many plan to ditch their BRD/RDM/BLM/etc at 75 after they're done raising level caps. I know that some shells are mandating that folks with multiple mage jobs take at least one of them all the way.

I don't think I'm going to completely ditch BRD, but I really want to level DNC first.... then probably SMN. Unless both are completely useless at 99... then eeh.

To be honest, I'm still undecided as to what to do with my BRD. I hate getting locked into playing BRD at events for months on end, but I do ultimately like the job and would like to have the option to gear it up and play it. That being said, it'll probably be the last of my 3 75s to be leveled. If I have to be locked into either BLM or BRD, I'd much rather get locked into BLM.

I don't think it would be too problematic given the time between increases. That is, assuming they don't tear a page out of RO's book and make it something like where 1-96 is equal to 97-99 in terms of EXP. Then they'd be better off freezing EXP gain at 99 (and making it so one can't dong 98) though that would be a can of worms in itself.

WHM WHM WHM WHM WHM WHM WHM and look, more WHM :)
I got locked into that job for half a year, every night, doing the same damn things over and over. Needless to say, I got freaking sick of it.
Then I did a boycott on WHM (for those specific events, sometimes for that shell in general) and I got to come as other stuff ^^ How did it work!? Well no, I couldn't afford to retire my WHM... though I would get alot of money >.> No, fact is, I have no other job worthwhile endgame, I'd never get invited to anything LOL (WHM THF DRG BST SMN PUP). Couldn't retire it. I got so tired of coming WHM, my performance was (willingly) dropping to the point they HAD to get another WHM, because I was dead weight =-= and I'm proud of it! Screw that!
Then I got to lvl other jobs and use all of them on a regular basis ^^ yay~ and all is right with the world~
But not in my satchel >.< damn you rare/ex gear!

We have always followed as a general rule - If you can wear it, you can lot it (everyone picks 1 AF per dynamis run, if nobody picked it in their comment, its Free Lot if you can wear it). Only exceptions would be gear such as Hauteclaire/gaiters/Defending ring etc where we have a list of people who get the drops and in what order. We never have had issues with people lotting for instance a piece of good PLD gear over our full time PLD's even though they have PLD at 75 but never use it and its not geared well/merited etc (Shadow ring as an example). Once you get past the point where mediocre gear is really common, your LS members will understand that the betterment of the LS as a whole takes precedence, and in time they will get all the gear they want, and more.
our LS is run by roughly 10 Sackholders, all having equal votes and say in how things go. All of us have the same goals in mind, so even though our points of view on some small things may differ, in the end it will almost always work out to benefit the LS as a whole and make the most people happy. We've been doing it for over 5 years and it seems to work well.

BRD... You would think with BLM, RDM, and WAR I would beable to switch it up alittle bit /cry I guess one benefit is I hardly ever have to die. I quit leveling DRK at 70 simply because I know I wont get to zerg, BRD onry... Appearantly garbage gear brd > well geared rdm /sigh

Ive got 3 75s. WHM RDM WAR. I hardly use WHM anymore because, well i dont know ppl just havent asked me to gear up WHM for an event.....
I was locked into RDM liteally as soon as it hit 75 i got out of a PT and they were like. welp hope u gots a buffer ur RDM today not WHM. And i geared it pretty well and didnt trust other RDMs so i was perma RDM.
Then i lvld WAR to 75. and i was told i couldnt lot WAR gear cause i would never be allowed to use it for an event. So i ditched the HNM shell i was in and got BH from another LS i was in. Then all of the sudden im always WAR unless im doin Kirin or Limbus King zone or ultima/omega. So i get a good balance of WAR and RDM. but alot of dust on my WHM >.>
Now lvlin PLD hopefully to allow some of the PLDs with BLM to swap to BLM LOLOL they gonna hate me forever.

Currently though im leveling WHM. My WHM friends tell me that as soon as im Lv75 I will be forced to play it for all EG situations.
Tell me this aint so or will I be doomed to heal for the rest of my FF11 gaming experiance? People with Lv75 WHM please assist
