Endgame: What Job Are YOU Locked Into?

I'm locked BRD and BLM and MNK, no regrets.
I come what is needed and honestly... I get the most fun out of winning, not being a specific job.

I go rdm/whm for dynamis and most einherjars and most other things. I end up on whm/sch for a majority of salvages and nyzul (that may not count as endgame) I get to go smn for a couple ZNMs and Odin.

I'm perty well rounded 83

though I havent been on in weeks cause of computer issues.

I'm usually stuck as RDM with either /blm or /drk. lol

I get whined at alot cause I'm the kind of RDM that likes to melee even though I cast enfeebs on the mobs and still refresh mages in my party, so I don't get why people complain about it lol. (Its how it was meant to be played! >_> I'm not being no bastardized healer)

Most people level a job because they have fun on it and it looks fun and useful at endgame, but then they get there and are asked to come the same job for 2-3 years with very few variations. All things get boring after a while.

def get stuck on rdm, dont horribly mind it just gets old when ur in a mana pty and simply the refresh ***. according to SE rdm is almost one of the top 5 jobs lved to 75. its unusal how no one has rdm lved in ur ls of 40 ppl but you lolz <3

THF! Im the main puller in my LS so usually always on that, but if i cannot be arsed to pull, ill come on my main DRK, or if we need a tank desperately, ill go on PLD.

It just depends what i want to do really, unless its a dreamlands zone, then im definately on THF :)

That's an awesome point lol. In my dyna I'm one of like 4/40 that has the job it's mindboggling. I like rdm alot but being a refresh *** in mt is definately not fun in anyway and almost cruel for 4 hours. Thankgod for diabolos avatar favour, now I can be in a random pty sleeping aspir drain nuke cure w/e I feel like and still contribute greatly.

i guess i'm lucky, depending on the event my job always changes.
except NIN... i haven't ever used it in a end game event.

he he yeah funny how ppl dont have jobs u could of sworn u once saw them on. And playing the whole "its retired" card is bleh i took my war outta retirement for the fact i hated wasting a lv 75 job.

This thread is a total bitchfest. If you play a job it's because *YOU* leveled it to 75, so either you enjoyed playing it to 75 or you thought it would be useful as a 75 to get into an endgame linkshell.

Now that people are requesting you play a job *YOU* leveled all the way to 75, it really leave you no room to *** about playing that job if it's your most useful job to bring to the table.

Personally, I try to rotate jobs so our PLDs, WHMs, BLMs, RDMs, etc don't get burnt out playing the same job all the time.

I will say, if you apply to a linkshell and say "hey I have WHM" don't expect to show up to 90% of events on your WAR. You know what you're getting yourself into and it'd be stupid to assume it's fair to a linkshell to be accepted as a WHM but never be expected to use it frequently. You were accepted under that pretense, deal with it or app to a new linkshell and DONT disclose having a WHM75.

(This post wasn't directed at any WHM/WAR in particular, but rather just making a point)

Im almost always asked to be brd on everything. I dont mind really, Im just glad I get to join in on the fun on endgame events ^^

I'm stuck on WHM, which is fine.

But sometimes I get tired of things being redundant.

Surprisingly, I was asked to come as BLU for dynamis twice in a row.

I must say, it truly is a breath of fresh air, get a break from hast cure haste cure routine :)

BLU can be an amazing contributor to endgame. But there's a BIG difference between a career BLU and someone who just has it at 75 for blu/thf cannonball spam.

You'd be amazed at what a good BLU can bring to the table especially to events like Einherjar, Limbus, and Dynamis.

I usually only do Dyna as far as EndGame goes (by choice- have had sky and sea and znm whatnot shells offered but I don't plan to take up another endgame event for awhile yet).

Most times I am locked in on THF, which is fine because I love THF and I love pulling doom to my party...err I mean mobs. :3 Plus its nice to get to know the different zones like the back of your hand.

Sometimes I am asked to come WHM (usually WHM/SCH) and thats fine but its not a locked in job per say.

I got to come as RNG once, but it was like a once in a blue moon event. :P Was fun to shoot stuff for massive damage but likely best I am not locked on the "gil blackhole" known as RNG. (Besides, I really need to get the gear a bit better before I start bringing rng out to events more often).

I usually whip out SMN when I do missions, bcnm, or when I want to solo certain things that my thf cannot. Not really in endgame...ever. ><

More LS leaders read this, pls. These jobs complain about being locked in, and the solution is to let them off the hook once in a while :p

Currently working on leveling BLU because I personally just feel like nobody's interested in a DRG. Need to level /THF and /SCH for BLU tho -.-

RDM but so far I find it fun. Occasionally do BLM, but that's only rarely

there is certainly something to be said for breaking up the monotony, doing the same ***all the time can get boring. a thread like this is a good place to vent your frustration because the reality is nobody wants to hear people whine while they are trying to set up a run. with that said, i did dyna primarily BLM for like 3 years and it didn't get old. i like the job. my stance has always been "whatever the team needs to win".

Seriously though, if you don't want to play a 75 that you have (maybe liked it at one time, and lost interest, or whatever else) just say something to the leaders. Burnout happens. As a leader I'd rather let someone else come as the not-as-good-as RDM just to let the burned out one play a different job once in a while. The worst thing you can do is not say a word and then leave the shell because you felt "locked in."

Since loads of people have 75s, it's usually pretty easy to find another set of jobs that will work. But if I know that someone plays RDM well, I'm going to always ask them to play it unless they tell me they are getting bored of it!

i lvled multi jobs to 75 so i never got stuck on just one, lvled pld so i can tank, lvled sam so i can DD, and smn so i can play mage job. :)

My Paladin is fully merited: rockin' a B.Mask, Ares Body, Hauteclaire, full Homam, etc etc.. My Samurai is fully merited, wearing HQ Haub, Chuchlain Mantle, Usukane Feet, etc etc and yet I bring BRD to most of our events, including HNM camps. Funny thing is, when you're caught up in the moment, you don't really pay attention to what job you're actually on. You're having fun and just focusing on the win.

Half of our linkshell is on ventrilo during events & camps, if not more, so it doesn't really matter what job most of us bring because we're usually having a great time.

We're usually too busy telling dead baby jokes and dirty jokes to even notice that half of us usually bullshitting are the WHMs, BRD, RDMs, etc.

I don't know where maimed is getting this endgame blu stuff... :P

BRD <3 But I love it, and I have no problems coming as any job LS needs me to. Sometimes I get to go RNG for Odin, COR for Sea, etc etc. But I will always be the person to say... BRD Rotation in Einherjar, yes please!

I can't stand people who *** about being a certain job all the time. If you don't want to wind up getting stuck on a job you don't want to play, then don't level it. its that simple

Proof that you're an ***. I dont care about a 20% defense down when we NEED a rdm/drk for CS stun. Otherwise i would have said "hey we have the cs stun and all the heals and buffs, and debuffs covered, come as your pimp drg"

The whole point of the statement is, if you are doing events repetatively, and you have been doing them for even a few months, you shouldnt have to ask constantly, you should be able to look at your ls list and see whats needed, in addition to asking then bitching about the choice leadership makes for you AFTER YOU ASKED.

I have, numerous times, just told people to come as whatever the hell they feel like, then we get to an event, and voila it goes to ***fast just cause no one wanted to come as a healer, or buffer or blm.

QFT or you can also help recruit others with that job so there are more to choose from...
