SE stated it caps at 4 for non-THF, so there's that. If you really wanted to test, put on as much TH gear as you can and do a VW, it'll be a % bonus at the end based on your TH value. Note that if Super Kupower: Treasure Hound is active, that'll go 1 beyond the cap.
RNG can get higher TH with bounty shot.
RNG is still capped at TH4 from gear/traits though. Simple example:
Bounty Shot with Amini+1 hands: initial shot gives TH4
Bounty shot with Amini+1 hands AND Chaac Belt: initial shot still gives just TH4
THF main and Bounty Shot just both have the ability to hit TH increase proc on additional attacks. Bounty Shot increase proc can indeed go above TH4 (I routinely RNG on Escha NMs as the only TH job and get TH7~8 most of the time), but the TH value itself is the same.
I'd be interested to see whether TH gear improves Bounty Shot TH-up proc frequency rate (as it does for THF), or if it's useless to bother and TH4 is the max used for calculating proc likelihood from Bounty Shot.

That's right, so far we aren't sure how high they could go, but previous cap was 40 on armor.

Best i've gotten so far is 5% on WS Damage. Has anyone seen higher with Dark Matter? I haven't tried any yet.
By Xcloud 2015-11-30 20:34:50
I did 32 Dark Matter augments tonight on a mix between Staff and merlin gear.
Grioavolr: MDT-1%, MB+4% pet: STP+3.
I kept getting similar bad augments so stopped after the fourth or fifth.
Merlin Gear: Phalanx +4 on feet and hands. I also got DT-5% on the hat. Overall i couldn't get Accu/Att/Maccu/MAB to break 30. I know someone in the LS also got DT-5% on merlin body.

I've seen WSD+5% with just a Fern Stone, so I imagine Dark Matter could go higher.

Has anyone tried the Honors from legion as upgrade tokens? That seems Dark Matter tier from way back when :P, And is still mildly annoying to farm.

Dark Matter on both the Axe and Great Axe gave really bad augments, mostly pet *** that weren't even that great. Dark Matter just seems very hit and miss, some pieces can get really relevant and nice augments while others just get completely stupid trash. The biggest problem is we can't chose a "path" so your likely to get a mix of really bad stuff on gear that has multiple viable use's.

I've read that people are getting pet augments on gear that that pet jobs cannot even equip, so it seem that perhaps Dark Matter just has specific augments it can give regardless of gear. Who knows though. Would make sense that it has it's own augment pool though, that is why there is no path for it.

Quote: Also included in “Other” are those that choose to trade in Dark Matter with their equipment and gain a special Arcane Glyptic. Among them is “Treasure Hunter” which is a property that cannot be obtained through normal Arcane Glyptics. Also among the best results include having “Double Attack +5%”, “Triple Attack +4%” and “Quadruple Attack +3%” all at the same time. Dark Matter also has a chance to yield higher stat gains than other stones. For example, a Pellucid Stone can give up to +40 but Dark Matter can give up to +50.
Since Dark Matter is an item in low supply, we have thought of implementing a new campaign that would let the user use Dark Matter for their Arcane Glyptics up to 3 times in a day, but there have been requests to let the user use them even more than that, so we will implement a campaign that will let you do this up to 6 times a day--meaning you use this for a weapon and 5 pieces of gear. Please look forward to this!

It's like saying you are rich because you bought a lottery ticket. Dark matter augs are super super random. Getting these 3 Augs together might be possible in theory but you won't see it in this life.

It's a matter of patience. You better believe I'm dumping a crapload of dark matter into that armor when I can use a single dark matter six times a day. Took me a long time and many stones to get a full set of triple attack 4% with over 20 accuracy on each piece, but I did. One of them has 30 accuracy on it. It happens, it's just rare.

Getting 30 accuracy and 4 triple attack is rare. But that's two slots (possibly 3). I've spent approximately 16,000 stones and have 4 pieces with that.
You're looking at trying to get accuracy, 5 DA, 4 TA, AND 3QA. That's 4 (or 5) slots that need to roll absolutely perfectly. Have fun with your 50,000.

I will. What else do I have to do at this point? I know that it's possible, so I'll keep doing it and use what I get in the meantime. I'll rotate through each piece and augment the worst one until it's better, same way I did the other five sets of hercs armor I have, which I've dumped more stones than I can count into.

Dunno if anyone here updates BG pages or if this was already known, but DW can go up to 6 on Herculean while BG only notes it going up to 5. Was with a Fern stone.

Gonna keep it?
So yeah. These augments are random as hell.
Each stone seems to have it's own pool of augments. It'll give you between 1-6 random augments, but they will all follow a particular path that you chose at the start. You can pick melee, ranged, magic or familiar. Seems like the dusk type stones give attributes frequently, the snow type seem to give better atk/acc/mab/ect. The leaf type don't have any pattern I could recognize.
We only dumped about 40 stones apiece into each piece of gear, and the only thing we really noticed is that EVERYTHING IS INCREDIBLY RANDOM. You don't get to pick what augments you want to keep from a particular set like you do with Alluvion, so it's more like the original skirmish. And as you can tell, they are indeed worthwhile. Didn't bother trying any melee/ranged/magic, so no idea what is possible from those.
Another thing to note is that several of these NMs are hard as hell. We only fought them once each, and the first three we fought with three people, didn't go so well. We didn't lose to anything after we had a full party. They start at level 129, and they probably are not at all PUG friendly. Most of them have stupid gimmicks are cheap moves. A good example is a Mimic that stuns everyone for about ten seconds as soon as they spawn while applying a very powerful poison to everyone. Or the tonberry team that split off and attacked people randomly right after they zerged the popper.
This content was designed to keep people busy for a long time.
