Is it a typo ? It seems the max pet regen possible with skirmish stones is 3 no ? pretty sure DarkMatter augments can go to pet: regen+5

Another option that I personally use is empy +1 hat and flip an earring to hypaspist. I also hate Telchine body over other options (something with refresh on it or master DT- or both if you have shamash).

I personally use this. Been considering swapping my cape from -10 PDT to -5 DT, but I find physical damage to be a larger threat more commonly, so I like making sure that's capped.

hi everyone, new GEO her, I am wondering if the equipsets on 1st page still up2date. And should I put geo skill set in mid-cast of geo spells or precast? thanks in advance!

The handbell needs to be in both precast & midcast for handbell skill to have any effect.
skill gear only needs to be equipped in the midcast set.
edit: as for whether the guide is up to date. It appears to be mostly abandoned after Omen. The only mention past that is one piece of relic+3, no ea+1, other relic+3, JSE neck, or new HTBF items listed.

Okay, I am sure this is somewhere i just have not been able to locate it. When do you need the 900 skill gear. Is it only midcast? Do you need 900 skill when luopan is out? When indri spell is going? I dont have Idris... I do have Bagua charm +2. Does the charm need to be on only during the cast as well? Sorry I just dont 100% understand this part. Thank you.
Also.... when luopan is out can i sit in tathlum? or do i need handbell still.... thank you... sorry.

900 skill and +geomancy for midcast only. You'll want the charm on for Idle whenever possible (for the augment effects) but you can use other necks for whatever other reason.

900 skill and +geomancy for midcast only. You'll want the charm on for Idle whenever possible (for the augment effects) but you can use other necks for whatever other reason. You also want the Charm on Midcast if it's a +1/2 for the geomancy+6/7 bonus over Dunna's +5. (small Edit: reading skill are bad 5 in the morning, just saw everything was already answered)

Remove all gears from the test subject to remove any variables that Meva might cause. The only time Bagua+3 is going to be better for potency is if your aspir set is really, really, bad. Well, or if you are getting resists. The macc difference is significant. But anyway.
Pixie hairpin+1 is affinity. Which means that it is multiplicative with drain/apsir+. So it's base * Drain/aspir+ * affinity.
If you have no drain/aspir+ then you can just compare them as +35 vs +28, but once you start adding some aspir+ the affinity picks up speed.
At 509 dark skill and +30 drain/aspir, Pixie will be all of 1 point of MP drained behind Bagua+3. Add any more Aspir+ and Pixie will always be ahead.
With a fairly maxed out aspir+ set(488 skill, 99 aspir+ before galero) You'd be looking at a 899 avg aspir III for galero, vs a 968 avg for Pixie.
It's not a huge difference, and Galero has the advantage of better macc, and actually having some haste for those recasts. But if you're wanting the max mp per aspir, and aren't getting resisted, then pixie+1.

I did a little testing in my normal Drain/Aspir set with a few different head pieces and got the following results.
My normal set has 497 dark magic skill and +58 D/A potency with no head piece. I did Aspir I on 10 crabs wearing each head piece and starting with around 1000/1500mp
White Rarab Cap +1 (no stats)
Low: 161
High: 312
Avg: 235.5
Pixie Hairpin +1 Dark MAB +28
Low: 174
High: 377
Avg: 277.6
Bagua Galero +1 D/A potency +25
Low: 187
High: 302
Avg: 225.5
I plan on retesting once I +3 my Bagua galero but I wanted to get a baseline at +1.

Amalric +1 with merlinic head, cath palug crown is a decent substitute for freenuking, Ea+1 for Mb is correct. I'm not sure Cath Palug Crown is better than Bagua Galero +3.
More Macc, bit more int, bit less mab. I think they're pretty much the same.
Bagua+3 set is not really that bad all in all, what puts it behind Amalric+1 is mostly the set bonus. Putting that aside each piece is pretty close.
If someone doesn't already have full Amalric+1 but he happens to have full Bagua+3 and wants to save inventory space/gil, I don't think it would be that bad to use Bagua+3 for freenuking, honestly.

The problem with that theory is bagua is locked to 1 job and amalric isn't.
My Node section is messed up because of too much data usage and I am locked out of editing this guide. If you would like to reach out to Rooks to fix that problem like he said he would years ago when I asked him to fix it, feel free to do so. Until then, enjoy the half fixed guide I guess?
