Bubble Trouble: A Geomancer Guide
By Veydal1 2025-12-06 18:41:57
How is it incorrect when he clearly states "for Judgement Damage"? Maybe Lorg Mor fits in higher than 3 or below 2 if you WERE to use judgement with it, but that list looks fairly accurate for Judgement only weapons. I don't have a r15 aeonic to compare, but the notes about TP bonus make sense considering effective tp is 2250 during Aminon or other bosses instead of 2750.
Because the prime will do higher judgement numbers.
But it won't, unless you're holding TP until over 2k. Only at 2k TP does Stage 5 begin to break even with Aeonic R15.

What nuke?
What set?
Recently taken over dual boxing geo on 9boss and trying to get a little more DPS out of GEO

I really only do Impact, my team's TP management can't really accomodate thundara III too, but that would be my second occult spell if I were to use it.
For Impact, since GEO is lower on the totem pole of damage needing to be done, I still have my pet DT stuff in casting set, so it looks like this for impact.
ItemSet 401372
Cape is a melee cape with STP
If you wanted to do full TP gain I'd swap to:
combatant's torque
Any of alabaster earring R30, telos earring, crepuscular earring
merlinic dastanas with Occult Acumen
merlinic crackows with Occult Acumen
For Thundara III
merlinic hood with Occult Acumen
merlinic jubbah with Occult Acumen

Impact, Blizzara & Thundara III (most expensive GEO spells). Impact only difference is swapping out the cloak for head/body slot.
Code {
ammo="Seraphic Ampulla",
head={ name="Merlinic Hood", augments={'Attack+17','"Occult Acumen"+10','MND+3',}},
body={ name="Merlinic Jubbah", augments={'Mag. Acc.+1','"Occult Acumen"+11','MND+9',}},
hands={ name="Merlinic Dastanas", augments={'"Mag.Atk.Bns."+17','"Occult Acumen"+11','INT+1',}},
legs="Perdition Slops",
feet={ name="Merlinic Crackows", augments={'"Mag.Atk.Bns."+30','"Occult Acumen"+10',}},
neck="Bathy Choker +1",
ear1="Crep. Earring",
ear2="Dedition Earring",
ring1={name="Chirich Ring +1", bag="wardrobe3"},
ring2={name="Chirich Ring +1", bag="wardrobe7"},
back={ name="Nantosuelta's Cape", augments={'DEX+20','Accuracy+20 Attack+20','Accuracy+10','"Store TP"+10','Damage taken-5%',}},
waist="Oneiros Rope",
}
I basically rotate 3-5 spells, depending on what is on cooldown: Absorb-TP, Impact, Aspir 2 or 3 (MP), Blizzara III and Thundara III. If I am fast, I throw up an Absorb-MND/STR before an Impact so I can gain extra stats. Consume Mana often requires me to refill MP, so the Aspirs are handy. Entrust STR/MND at start and after a RD reset.
I also don't wear any Pet -DT% gear for the bubble during Aminon (or really any of the bosses), neither do I use Idris for it either, because I've never had it die once. I use GEO-Fury behind the party, and Indi-Frailty on myself. Even when I do it in reverse (Indi-Fury and GEO-Frailty), between Dematerialize, Life Cycle, RD and WC resets, it's always alive and never been in any threat of danger (assuming you stand at max distance). But as Shadowmeld mentioned, GEO's damage is paltry in the grand scheme. I just personally like pushing myself to improve where I can since GEO can either be incredibly boring or very busy/engaging as a job, and I just prefer the latter.

Hi.. I'm sure this question may be answered somewhere in this thread, but I just dont have the time nor patience to look through 80 pages of text to find it. SOO.. I'm gonna ask here.. I JUST got Idris for my Geo (multiboxer) and I'm trying to figure out exactly which sets the idris goes into (using sel's gs). So far i just replaced my Solstice with Idris. But after looking at the gearswap itself.. There's several other places that it looks like it "could" be. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

As far as geomancy goes, and unsure of what you name your sets in your gearswap, In your geomancy and indi midcast set, as well as in your bubble out pet idle set.
If its r15 and you're using it for magic acc then it will go into some other midcast sets such as enfeebling and what not.

I used to play with someone a few years ago, who was insistent that you don't need to Idle in Idris for the Geomancy+ effect ...is that true? >.>;;;
By Nariont 2025-12-14 15:54:41
It's for cast only, once the bubble is set the only thing idris is adding is the DT-

You idle in it for the pet DT, not the geomancy (you don't have to idle in geomancy gear, it's potency is applied on cast with your midcast set)
Wasn't sure if you were joking so serious answer.

To provide a non-serious (but someone will argue a niche for it and I know what it is already) answer: obviously, you keep Idris on in case another GEO uses Entrust on you.

Assuming you mean "limbus armor", is any of it better than Vanya for healing on Geomancer? The only piece that seems like it might be close is the hands.

Raetic + path A Vanya hood + 10% cure potency cape. Rest whatever you want. Alternatively, Gyve trousers instead of ambu cape.

lets see those limbus /whm curaga3 sets I had a set focusing on all the classing healing stats (healing skill, mnd, cpot, cpot2, conserve mp and whatnot) but after a few limbus runs I moved to a set with capped DT and as much def I could put, while of course capping Cpot and getting as much as possible of the other stats I mentioned.
I was getting smacked way too often. Since then everything has been pretty regular (and boring)

i haven't really cured much on GEO as I prefer to /DNC whenever I can and DD, but ya could certainly make GEO the main healer. I don't think raetic is worth the MP expense, but guess I'd have to see it in action to see if GEO can maintain while curing in it.
here's a set from the thought of cap DT + cure pot with conserve MP & fast cast sprinkled on top as an afterthought.

While it's a good point in general, the original commenter was asking about limbus, where you get all your mp back every 3 minutes so I'm sure you can use raetic no problem.
Whether it works in other places it's extremely context specific and impossible to answer without lots of details, but I'd be inclined to say any time geo is healing they're likely to have sufficient support for it, plus the extra potency could be the difference between using cure 3 instead of cure 4, a lot of the time.

You're overcapped on -DT/-PDT. Could replace moonlight cape with some conserve MP/SIRD/fast cast option. For instance Ambu Cape/Aurist's Cape +1/Solemnity Cape.
With Daybreak, Telchine Gloves, Vanya Clogs and Solemnity Cape You should be -DT caped, cure potency caped and it would free up neck slot and vanya clogs augment for a different option.
Depending on subjob you could also swap shield for septoptic +1.
Probably not worth it to sacrifice a inventory slot for but if you already carry one of those options might be worth considering.

forgot to go back through DT after swapping other stuff around to make room for adamantite armor, since it actually seems viable for this set as a potential BiS.
ya, back is more than free'd up with adamantite armor.
you aren't getting dual wield and cure spells on GEO at the same time.

you aren't getting dual wield and cure spells on GEO at the same time. Of course you're right, it's either cures or dual wield for GEO main. I was initially thinking of a combo with soars shield and then dropped that thought without editing the post correctly, my bad.
Sometimes I wonder if GEO wouldn't have been better off with a healing branch instead of nuking, even if it goes against it's history.
My Node section is messed up because of too much data usage and I am locked out of editing this guide. If you would like to reach out to Rooks to fix that problem like he said he would years ago when I asked him to fix it, feel free to do so. Until then, enjoy the half fixed guide I guess?
