I mean for stuff like Volt Strike maybe? Probably?
But here, even aside from the MDMG and MAB, we have +10% BP and +1 Level so I'm not entirely sure about it.
Worst case scenario, it's gonna be quite close behind I'd say.
And let's not mention all those situations where it's not realistic to put up (or keep up) AM3.
If anything I wonder how much this staff is gonna compare to the other options commonly used for Magical BPs, with AM down, i.e. without the Avatar MDMG/Mab.

Either way, are these the final form? I wonder?
Because the +skill stats don't line up entirely with what we were expecting.
Assuming that will be the final form (why wouldn't it?) then maybe they're gonna release a new augment system for the old RMEAs making them +277 skill as well?
Before the end of the year, maybe.


Also I'd like to emphasize that of the 3 new forms (stage 3, stage 4, stage 5) we're seeing in the datamine, SE announced only one (stage 3?) so I wouldn't take for granted that Stage 4 and Stage 5 will be already available in the end of may patch.


I'm crying tears of blood over the Rings btw. Gdi it's gonna leave such a sour taste in your mouth to pick only one of those.

Sword WS being Fragmentation is funny as hell

So those sc props are all setup so that using the ws x3 will do a t2 and then a t3 sc.

Didn't expect them to not do the easiest thing and just make them level 3 opposite relic, so that's neat

Incoming emergency maint: Monthly ROEs are borked.

Yeah and Daurdabla is still nice for larger range Lullabies.

I would dare to say Daubla to keep expiring songs up when your party is spread >9 yalms from you but... that's quite a niche use I reckon.

And of course you still need *** Marsyas for Honor March, gdi.

All the WSs self chain to a lvl3 in three steps. My guess is Dissolution is somehow a typo of liquefaction.

Means two WSs of the same "type" play together really well.

Gfdi there's no Ranged Accuracy on the Katana.

Of course it has STR/AGI+35, higher skill and lower delay.

Wonder which of its stats are gonna work offhand. Probably everything except the WS and Aftermath?


I'm a bit unimpressed by Dokoku. Its saving grace might be a WS with really nice damage, and the aftermath of course but that's gonna be relevant only in situations where you're overbuffed for the current target.

Wow that's actually a cool surprise, was thinking best case scenario it would wind up being some kind of magey version of honor march or something.

Prime -> Prime -> Prime -> Empyrean makes a double lv3 4step SC for just about every weapon

i really hope we will get another ring that augments Aria to increase resistance to haunt and taint though

Funny thing i was cnosidering working on harp and nirvana for new char.

But those new weapons put in hold any initiative until further information about how is possible to acquire those.

Primes upgrade path uncovers really as just relic v2 path with these three new eikondrite-items may being 1's 100's and 10k-coins farmed in Sortie? (and ofc a (Necro-)psyche for final stage...)

Katana, Marksmanship, Great Katana, Club (Fusion)
Scythe, Dagger, Axe (Distortion)
Polearm, Staff, Archery (Gravitation)

Let's not get too crazy though, a useful ring like that would have to be mutually exclusive with these other new rings or it would just be way too OP

One of the Monthly RoEs is opening the Special Dial.

I didn't have much hope for Caliburnus, but I still expected something a bit more inspired than a clone of sakpata sword.

I was fully expecting to see pdl on most of the weapons, but i did not expect for the song to ALSO be pdl. They really like this thing now, don't they.

Some final thoughts for the night: they put more effort into these than aeonics. A lot more. And I'm glad about that. Some people will still complain and say they're too generic or whatever, but overall they at least tried to make some cool bonuses on these that make sense for the jobs on them and I think the way that they've designed the skillchain properties is novel and cute.

Except the sword. That thing is ***for everyone.

Inb4 the sword WS is so busted it renders savage blade obsolete.

It'd have to be even more busted than that to beat Expiacion, and then more busted than that to make me wanna actually wear that over Tizona!

But hey maybe it's better than Excalibur for rdm

I said it in discord but I would've loved to see something like a generic buff duration+% stat. That would've been a positive effect for blu, pld, and rdm.

But yeah. With exception to the sword (and weird ***like DA on great katana which is practically griefing), I'm happy as a pig in ***.

So they have doomed us to spend the rest of our FFXI life in Sortie.

In before killing Aminion X times will be a requirement. Together with thousands of items dropping from basement bosses, added in next patch, and a gazilion of Gallimaufry, but you can only trade in 100k max each time.
