HD UI and Skill/Spell Mods (XiVew variant)
we need icons! my eyes hurt after this update!
I assume it's totally fine to slide the previous files back in without any issue, yeah?
Don't necessarily need new files. Only 119/57.dat (buffs) was actually updated, so yeah all others are fine to use again from last time.
I forgot about the limbus (atma) buff icon, but I'm never gonna see it ~
This might have been discussed already in the thread and I missed it, but is there any chance we could get the splash screen and alternates re-uploaded? It looks like all the links to them on the front page are broken.
I really like the higher resolution nameplate font and icons but I'm pretty fond of the original UI - so I'm trying to alter 51.dat to include only the nameplate modifications for now. However I can't quite get it to work. I'm using Windower4 but I do not have XIPivot and I'm running at 3440x1440 (ultrawide).
First things first if I download and just use RadialArcana's files then they do work fine. But in trying to customize it myself I'm using TexHammer to open an original 51.dat file and importing the '512 Vanilla Font 512.dds' into 'font font ' and 'menu ustatshd gold star 4 2024 condensed.dds' into 'menu ustatshd', saving it as a new copy and then placing it in my game's ROM\119 directory. The results look like this. The font and icons appear unchanged but the job stars have changed - however it seems to only display the lower resolution version(s). I think the font is actually doing the same thing because when I tried the League of Legends font texture the font was visibly different but it was not the high res 'gothic' LoL font. It was just the standard 'medium size' font found in the texture. As far as I can tell TexHammer is making the hex changes corresponding to the increased size of the textures - but I also haven't tried doing it manually with ChangeTex and a hex editor yet. Is that still necessary? Or are there any other steps I'm missing or any ideas of what might be wrong? Thanks in advance. I also tried adjusting mipmapping and the font quality setting in FFXI Config but it did not make any difference. Edit: I tried doing it by hand as well using ChangeTex and a hex editor following Nomido/Amelila's instructions and still the same result :/ darkwaffle said: » I really like the higher resolution nameplate font and icons but I'm pretty fond of the original UI - so I'm trying to alter 51.dat to include only the nameplate modifications for now. Here is one that I made that uses original fonts, uses original item borders, original macro bar background, a compass that looks more like the original, and also deletes master stars. I love to see everyone's name on screen, including my party of trusts and pets, but seeing all the name and icon clutter covering up my glorious damage numbers got me thinking...
Is it possible to change the opacity on nameplates, linkpearls/bazaar icons, master stars, etc? I assume one can probably edit the .dat to be lower opacity but I was curious if anyone has tried playing with the opacity values or knows if it is even possible or supported by the UI system. First of all, amazing work! Do you still have the files for the alternate menus? The links are broken. I am especially in love with Option#4 if they are numbered the way I think they are. THANKS!
I was wondering if anyone ran into an issue with the nameplates not changing when applying the dat mod but all of the other ui aspects changing. Any possible reasons I may not be considering?
You have the same ROM in an XIPivot directory and it's overriding it.
Or you have a plugin loaded that changes nameplates. Is there a way to mod the color of the hp/mp bars on the party list & on the top left when engaged? I was thinking it would be nice if the MP bar could be anything other than yellow on greyish white, green would be nice to match the refresh color of the custom UI. Anyone know what dat file that even is in?
These are amazing and fantastic :)
I'm currently looking for spell and ability icons like this - but the png versions. So i can load the lovely images into my TCrossBar. Any chance you can upload them here? Or anyone know where I can find PNG images of spells/Abilities? THANKS!! :) Bahamut.Phillonius said: » This might have been discussed already in the thread and I missed it, but is there any chance we could get the splash screen and alternates re-uploaded? If you notice the cursor in the game is a small white arrow when installing this mod, make sure you have hardware mouse turned on in the FFXI config program or in the windower config (windower config via the pencil icon on the laucnher overrides xi config/registry). This provides the normal proper pointer arrow. If you notice buff icons are not showing, but everything else is. Goto config on FFXI, then misc and pick icon type 2. If you notice the chat font is blurred a little, this is because of DGVoodoo and the anti-aliasing setting in it, is being applied to the font sheet. Alter the settings for that in dgvoodoo. Hey does anyone have a default font moji.dds? I'm trying to get the default font back with all the other customizations but when using Tex Hammer to export I can only get it in png and cannot import it back in another 51.DAT
There is one in the zip, in the images folder.
Is there a way to revert the buff icons back to normal? I just can't seem to get used to the new ones
Does anyone have the files for these alternative splash screens? Links are broken. :'(

If you mean the buffs at the top, or you can just revert back the 57.dat file Quote: Does anyone have the files for these alternative splash screens? Links are broken. :'( I swap them around now and then, I'll prob use a diff one next time. I'm new to dat-mods but I'm not interested in the HD graphics textures. I don't like how they can affect zone loading times or create other performance issues.
However, someone sent me this DAT pack and now I'm interested in better-looking names of NPCs, status icons and other text. I'm not a fan of how blocky this happens to be: AshenbubsHD-TideFont: ![]() I do like that other text items appear wider: ![]() Does anyone have any examples/links to DATS that do just these things? (Are they easy to be re-applied with xipivot after a monthly update?). This is all done with XIview, and they are not usable with pivot for the most part, with the exception of icons.
