Post your favorite old fashioned candies
So apparently I created a duplicate thread without realizing it, and edited it to have some dots as a placeholder for deletion, but now it appears to have turned into a thread about dots. So to save face this thread will instead be a place to discuss all your favorite old fashioned candies from ages past that may or may not still be available on the market. You know, all the fun stuff. Dots style candies need not be excluded.
Candies like these I used to love these when I was young
This is where the thread gets turned into a dots meme isn't it.
We can use it. Let’s make something constructive out of it.
I’ll never forget the ZNM LS days I had fighting Sarameya and our LS leader over on Quetz yelling at our RDM to keep all the dots on it while we are all dead on the floor. Good times. Quote: We can use it. Let’s make something constructive out of it. Already repurposed it into something that fits the theme. There were so many freakin COOL candies that you just don't see anymore years ago. Remember those satellite wafers with the beads inside them, or the candy necklaces you could wear and eat? Or the gummy cigarettes with the powder inside them that when you blew into it would blow fake smoke....or the gummy cigars. Licorice pipes.... all those crazy confectionaries you just rarely see nowadays. Would be fun to reminisce on your favorite sweets from ages bygone Lol, they've come out with soooo many different flavors of peeps in the past two years,. Theres froot loop flavored peeps, cinnamon peeps, root beer peeps, cotton candy peeps....Hawaiin punch peeps. You name it. I actually tried the root beer ones last week. They're surprisingly good.
And I figured candy cigarettes would be one of the first things someone would dig up. One of the staple nostalgia pieces if ever there was one. Now you have to find the bubblegum ones that blow powdered smoke. You know, there were actually candy dots. These things were a freakin nightmare. It was IMPOSSIBLE to eat them without getting a mouthful of paper in the process. Still brings back memories though.
And then there's the candy guaranteed to give you a sugar high. Literal sugar.....just with some added flavors. Pixie stix. Makes me realize just how bad some of these things were for us lol. It's like injecting a modern day energy drink right into your system, but far more raw.
Edit: says right on the box haha. Always wondered what exactly these were food-wise. Guess it's just a kind of gum.
In terms of candy I've actually had before, always loved ring pops as a kid. ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes I know they still make these. Don't matter, I like em. Odin.Sudra said: » Mambas were those the "natural" fruit flavor starburst-eqsue candies, only bigger/softer? gimme my fake lemon and fake strawberry briquettes, thank you very much. I read the thread title wrong at first, but screw it, I'm going with it!
Quote: Edit: says right on the box haha. Always wondered what exactly these were food-wise. Guess it's just a kind of gum. Actually no, those weren't even a gum. They're litrerally made of wax. They are inedible. They're as edible as the wax encasing of the juice filled bottles Freehugs linked earlier. Their whole purpose was to just be a toy. There was a handle extention at the back of the lips that you would put into your mouth and bite down onto to hold them in place, and then you just looked goofy walking around with a pair of stupid oversized lips. It was an aesthetic thing, not an edible one. Weird, I was definitely led to believe they were some kind of candy at some point.
But speaking of gum, do you remember all those little leage baseball and softball games your parents dragged you to. And then whenever you'd play against your rival teams there's be a big crowd and a bunch of cheap junk food at the refreshment stands? Do you remember the gum they made specifically for those little league softball events to rake in the cash? Pepperidge farm remembers.
