Thing is, is that where the problem was, or simply stopping medals from being used.

Hundred thousand medals still changed hands over the last 48 hours. Not counting hoarded medals.

Do they have a way to just roll back the servers 3 days for any character that has used or held the items in question?

They're ABLE to do that. Do they have the manpower or the willpower, gonna say no. (individual roll backs) I don't think they would dare break out a server roll back.

And it goes back quite a long ways, it just had grand finale yesterday.

If only SE could remove shitty threads on FFXIAH.

Apparently it's been going on for weeks. Only heard about it yesterday and I had bought some last week to finish COR hands. At this point you'd have to roll back everyone possibly up to a month at this point. You have no idea which ones were duped and which ones aren't.

If they went back 3 weeks it would be fine.

According to those in the know it goes back over two years. And it's been insinuated it's actually way longer than that.

Again, I know when the flooding started and how it got spread and the source; 3 weeks. Im not claiming any saint status, but I actually didnt really do as much as I could have, and not to mention any where near as much as I am being told by others I did; which is weird because internet knows everything.
