Fox News rejected in Canada because.....
...there's a provision in Canada that bans lying on broadcast news.
http://roguemedia.org/2012/04/23/canada-refuses-to-allow-fox-news-a-license/ If they really wanted to broadcast in Canada...they could just like ... not lie.

You mean posting bits and pieces of a quote someone said with pictures or video of a totally different event to paint them in a negative light is wrong?
I'd take a jab at the mainstream media as a whole but there really is no other way to explain what FOX does to news.
All stations spin, point out what they like and stack the deck with panels of people who will tow the party line but damn FOX just blurts out false fact after false fact coupled with sensationalist drivel all while portraying themselves as the last bastion of sanity in a world overrun by liberal treehuggers. In before someone compares MSNBC to FOX. So are we really pretending like FOX is the only network that twists the truth to support their agenda?
Seriously? Lakshmi.Jesi said: » So are we really pretending like FOX is the only network that twists the truth to support their agenda? Seriously? No, but FOX is a bit more blatant about it, and outright lies rather than twisting half truths to support their support structure. I don't like fox news, in fact it boils my blood just listening to Bill o' Reilly. Though this doesn't seem right; it takes free speech away. They lie about things all the time but it's their right to do so and it's our right to ignore their ***. Censorship in any form is wrong and is a slippery slope.

Fox News issues a 3 second apology after pouring oil on the fire, then moves on to the next lie. Well, this devolved into logical, rational people vs crazy people really quickly.
Quick! Everyone! RETREAT! Shiva.Galbir said: » I don't like fox news, in fact it boils my blood just listening to Bill o' Reilly. Though this doesn't seem right; it takes free speech away. Didn't really think that I came off as "crazy people" my apologies if I did though. :/

MSNBC is completely biased towards the left but when they put the screws in on conservative ideals they aren't making up facts or using outright lies to push an agenda. When Santorum was on his rampage over the rights of women and freedom of religion the coverage was obviously against Santorum but the commentary were things he actually said which were not taken out of context. Take the birther issue surrounding Obama and what does FOX do? Continuously perpetuate the idea the president isn't American even though the overwhelming facts from the left and right concluded Obama was in-fact American. You could go further with statements like the president is in league with terrorists because his middle name is Hussain, that the president hates white people (which is ironic) or because he bows to a foreign leader that Obama somehow hates the country. But as the above poster said, people should have their right to FOX if they want to. Censorship in any form is wrong and is a slippery slope. But as far as written laws are concerned, the news network that cries out unconstitutional the most is actually the one commiting high constitutional treason. /endrant :| I suppose this would come down to ones personal principles more than anything. I've always been one to stand up for free speech in any form even if it's against me. Whether or not the government has a problem with what is or isn't said I couldn't care; it's not their right to tell us what to do. Even if they try to. We are supposed to rule the government not the other way around.
and thats why my only trusted news source is 'The Onion'
For those in the states who don't know, Rupert Murdoch (owner of FOX) and his son are in hot water because a news paper they own in the UK has been hacking voice mails of a murdered school girl, dead British soldiers and victims of Londons terrorist attacks.
But of course Murdoch "didnt" know, seems it isnt just FOX that is rotton but the entire corporation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/News_International_phone_hacking_scandal Bismarck.Ihina said: » Except NBC fired the guy. Fox News issues a 3 second apology after pouring oil on the fire, then moves on to the next lie. You get a big fat cookie if you can actually tell me the name of the producer who got fired. All they did was "fire" him or her and move them somewhere else, or had one of their friends hire him. If they didn't they would have released the name and blacklisted him/her. Now you might be able to guess which one of the producers got fired by looking at the list of people working on the show. But that's all it would be, a guess. Since they never publicly admitted who they fired. Unless something has changed, which I would love to know about. So really nothing happened. It was just a big show. For anyone curious about what they actually did, here you go. Here is a New York magazine talking about the incident. http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2012/04/nbc-investigating-segment-on-zimmerman-call.html Now just to be clear, I hate ALL news organizations. I like to read stories from different sources and try to piece out what happened for myself. That's not actually news. It's just speculation. But about the birther thing, I'm sure an actual news anchor probably reported talking about it. Believe it or not for a while it was actually a semi news story. The president took his sweet time showing his birth certificate. Which was a genius move of course. Makes all the "birthers" look even more insane when he proved it. The same way UFO reports are news stories. Even though anyone with half a brain knows that aliens aren't visiting our planet and raping our cows, the news still reports it seriously like there is a chance that it's true because people eat it up. They love watching it. And again not defending FOX. fox is nothing but political commentators, except for the local branches

The reason the birther issue was news involved media like FOX and other ***tier commentators entertaining the idea that Obama might not be American. Now someone like Rush Limbaugh can do such things because he's really just a partisan troll for a living but FOX is supposed to be a legitimate and professional news station yet birther claims that boil down to subtle racism coupled with supreme ignorance is newsworthy? Integrity much? Naw, it's pulling in ratings so lets perpetuate that issue instead of the myriad other REAL issues they could have taken up against Obama. This is why I can't take FOX seriously because they just make things up to score points and placate their viewer base. The liberal rivals at MSNBC tow the Democratic line but at least they aren't hurling ridiculous claims based on scraps of nothing. Thanks OP...
