Question for back piece.

Unkai Back for Fudo
Atheling for Kaiten and Shoha

Is this a for sure thing on the math scale of things? A simple answer works I just want to be sure.

I would honestly like to know too. I could have sworn I was told to stray from all DA gear really on Kaiten (barring Brutal). And I was also under the impression that Unkai Sugemino was pretty good for all the WS anyways.
This is exactly why I ask. I understand 100% for shoha for the same reasons as windbuffet and mala. But for kaiten I can't help question why not unkai back?

I was thinking Fudo/Kaiten Unkai... Shoha Atheling. But I wanted to get more feedback.

Kaiten gears just like fudo with the exception of tpbonus moonshade. Unkai back isgrest for both, atheling is decent for shoha with the da, but with 100% str mod i'd have to math out whether unkai or atheling are better for it. I personally use atheling for shoha, but i have a ton of da, str might win.

Soloing some random mobs for fun when i realize that this set:

[Tachi: Fudo, Sekka Down]

along with this TP set:

is putting me .2 TP(?) short of the 100 TP mark (No XA procs, zanshin, or landed hits from the mob), and it's bothering me greatly.

I've dug around the threads for a solution. But while the primary focus of discussion has been Shoha (at which point I would indeed be 5-hitting), I've found no sets regarding a perfect 5-hit from a Fudo.

Should I just cut my losses and Fudo in Hagneia stone? or is there a better alternative?

Would unkai sune-ate put you over with 2 more STP? I know you'd lose your 1% haste, and that might be an issue for you.

Eikechi must mean usukane?

@Keyera might be best off using Hagneia Stone in your Fudo set

Yea, I think that might be the best way to go about it. Wanted to bring it up in the thread first, in case i'm missing something silly lol.

Just gotta wait for new salvage gear then~

AF2+2 feet would be a better trade-off, I think.

Hagneia Stone/Unkai Sune-ate: 8 STR, 18 Att, 6 Conserve TP (Accuracy irrelevant on 1-hit WS)
Thew Bomblet/Saotome Sune-ate: 9 STR, 20 Att

Not sure how much the occasional Conserve TP proc is helping the first set, though.

I believe it was mathed out to be basically non-beneficial

Fudo/Kaiten you need to WS in more stp.

AF2+2 feet are your best bet.

You should also use Ogier's legs and Shura head+1 on non proc days.

That's actually perfect, I think.

On the Ogier's/Shura part: Gaunab has been stingy for as long as I've been fighting him, and Shura's a backburner upgrade that i'll get when my money situation stabilizes (Doing my cinders right now for masa =])

Shura +1 wins vs anything other than Mekira +1 (on the correct days). Drachen works just fine until you can get either shura+1 or mekira+1

I have trouble seeing that unless it beats mekira +1 by like 1% or less, and theres certainly situations where 5%ATT > WSD +3% if you're in a low attack situation. Not saying its not true, especially as long as it took me to believe ogier's breeches beat avant cuisses +1 for fudo. Gearing SAM is getting a lot more complex than it used to be, lol.

Well considering that Drachenhorn's 5% attack is based off of your base attack, not counting gear, it only gives around 27-30 attack.

I just assumed it was based off total attack, does Phorcys work the same way?

I'm pretty sure the +% attack stuff (like korazin) is based off of all gear bonuses and your base combined (calculated sometime before food but after berserk or something like that I believe)

why would drachenhorn's ATT+% be calculated different? I know SE isn't known for consistancy, it just doesn't make sense, lol.

No, that's what I'm saying, it should be calc'd the same so it should give more than 27-30 as somebody stated earlier.

I would think if you got enough att+ the D horn HAS to come up pretty high. I don't have the math behind it, but on off-days it really has to be a pretty high contender.
