How about a thread to discuss E3? As we all know E3 is in full swing, so here's a thread to discuss non FFXI/XIV related news.

I'll start us off:


Natal / Kinetic pricing to be: $149.99 in gamestop.

too much? too little?

Personally I'm finding it to be too expensive for what it is. I'm not a fan of Natal simply because to me it feels like it's moving into the realm of Wii gimmicks. Microsoft to me did well with the 360 to avoid these gimmicks, it's built as a gaming machine, not a glorified party object.

I'll let it ride out for a few months to hear its ups and downs. I'm not the "AH MAH GAD NEEDS DAY 1 SO I CAN HAS BRAGGIN' RITEZ" kind of person. I want to make sure that ***works and is worth the price.

Looks very slow and kinda tedious. It wont be as good as they want it go be. Even the trailer for the Star Wars game felt like the controlling was SLOOWWWW and that was someone trying to sell the Kinetic

I am more excited about the Playstation Move and The Force Unleashed 2.

I'm really hoping for some news on a possible "Zone of the Enders 3" from Kojima(I can dream can't I?). Killzone 3 is looking very good. I'm interested in seeing what "Codename Kingdoms" is actually about. I'm looking forward to some news from Bioware either about Dragon Age or Mass Effect.

That's one hell of a rip off, who would pay that much money when you could go out and buy an actual Wii which would probably be better

Lol did you notice the character on screen was moving before the person? >.>

Natal is so good it has anti-lag.

Well, you have to consider that there will be different games.
I'm sure Kinetic will have more 'mature' games and not Mario. :P

I like that the PS Move will be less than $100 and come with games. the sensors and the move part on it are very impressive in videos and seem to be VERY consistent, maybe even more than the Wii. We will see though.

It's still got the same problem though, imo you can't have a serious gaming session with motion control.

I enjoy seeing the ball on the PS controllers. the sensor can truly capture 3D movement that way. I am anxious to see it.

Bugs and they ended up *** it up :/ ToR looks awesome though.

According to the website you are gonna be able to travel to different planets but I am not sure if you get to fly yourself

Maybe Smugglers and Troopers will be the only one's who can do that, idk though. I am pretty excited about this game. 2011 needs to get here!

Funny...I played galaxies when it came out. In fact pre-ordered it and got it first day. I actually quit before the "flying" was added. The game got WAY to laggy with all the content they kept trying to cram in it.
Not to mention... I also quit when instead of unlocking the ability to be a "Jedi" was a near impossibility of myth and legend... they kinda just unlocked the quest FOR YOU as a Christmas Gift one year (anyone remember EVERY PLAYER getting that Item as a "Thank You" from them)

Funniest thing I remember from Galaxies was when they introduced vehicles. There was bug with it. No way to repair broken vehicles...and they wouldn't disappear after being broken down. They just...sat there... as heaps of vehicular fire.
You couldn't even land on certain planets...the lag was so bad due to it being a wasteland of discarded, broken down landspeeders

Natal looks like it's going to be a dud to me, considering the price tag for it, and from my understanding you also need to buy the newer 360 model to use it.

Only thing that interested me on the front page of E3 was the new FF spinoff for the DS.

That's cool. I thought the same way, but after games like Metroid and Mario Galaxy, games that use the Wiimote are fun as hell. I was a hater, but it turned into a "don't knock it until you've tried it." Now I love it.

if the Microsoft Kinect used regular 360s instead of forcing people to buy new 360s, yeah I'd buy that.

The only game the Wii is good for is the Wii Sports Resort

That star wars vid is *** awesome, I've played a small handful of Star Wars games in the past (WELL in the past) which were all pretty fun for the time. The whole lightsaber/space/force thing is just such a cool and fun concept that any game that encompasses all that has a lot going for it before you even play. But, just as you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, don't judge a game by it's shiny FMV.
