is this thread really a debate over the seeming morality of summoner burning exp?

*** christ, who really gives a ***?

Really good endgame players couldnt care less. The overwhelming majority of the players in my linkshell (and most successful HNMLS, I'd think) could pick up any job on any account and play it efficiently, without having the benefit of good gear. Even if they've never played the job before. Good players have enough experience with the game that "learning to play your job" is pretty much over... you know game mechanics so well that you can basically play any job.

I've personally never summoner burned. Not because I dont want to, but simply because I've never had the opportunity. My linkshell doesnt really use SMN for a lot, and we dont have many of them in the ls to even go out there to try it.

But from a personal point of view, I wouldnt burn most of my jobs simply because I dont have the time or the will to spend countless hours in the Boyhada tree skilling up a weapon or skill I'll rarely use.

But ragging on other people for choosing a fast route to exp? *** stupid.

Hell, I stick my level 45 RDM mule at Khimaira camps, and can land ES Slow on it! And hey, it works!! Hell, my level 45 RDM can keep a single tank alive more efficiently than a lot of 75 RDMs I've seen. So what does that tell you?>

this post made me lol enough to actually quote it for everyone else to quote it.

Sorry for pissing in your god damn cheerios.

Well well well...aren't you pissy today?

I suppose that's to be expected from a self loather who's upset cause he wasted time in a game, yet for some reason feels the need to input his 2 cents as if it actually mattered what someone who quit the game actually thinks.

Would you rather sit inside and type on the internet and play the "real life card" so hypocritically?

Again, you misunderstand.

I'm not talking about HNM camps, I'm talking about merit parties.

Since almost all BRDs are at 75 for merit parties.

If a burned BRD tries to pull merit birds, you would notice a difference (since lack of skill on both magic and pulling). But if that BRD was just the second buffer (meaning only there to give out the second set of songs, the lazy BRD in a 2 BRD party) then you won't.

Therefor I'm right when I said that BRDs can get by with burning their job.

Yes actually, I would rather go outside and go into the real world.
Its what I live in, after you move out its kind of something you have to face.
I don't argue with people, specially over the internet.
Sorry if anyone though I was arguing, or pointing out groups.

higher skill points = better player...

most of you are basically saying that a baby with no punching skill can knock-out an adult the same way Mike Tyson would...

if a baby can do that, then we've finally evolved.

Yes, in merit parties, and only of the burned BRD was just the buffing BRD, then yes, you would be correct in your assessment.

However, one of the main arguments against AB is that people bring their burned jobs to the end game scene and ***it up for their LS's. A BRD is no different than any other job in that situation. If I'm bringing a BRD to an event, whether it be HNM, or otherwise, they BETTER be able to land Elegy, they BETTER be able to sleep, and they BETTER not be a lazy *** and think their only job is to ballad the BLMs. It'll be really easy to tell whether the BRD is burned/level synced (I still don't see the difference, but for some reason the latter is ok) or whether they leveled it the "right" way.

I don't think anyone here truly believes that an astral burned person should be allowed to do *** in the event that they don't take the time to skill up, gear up, and read up on wtf to do.

I think even the pro-burners and anti-burners can agree, a gimp *** is a gimp ***, and a person can be a gimp *** if they astral burn or if they EXP all the way up to 75 like "normal people." Does astral burning make "n00bs"*?

No, someone being unwilling to learn makes them a "n00b". Someone cheaping out, gimping out makes them a "n00b". Astral burns are a tool that n00bs can use to stay n00bs, but so is level sync, so is a colibri PT, so are worm burns; ironically, all of these are used by normal players too. I think we all need to settle once and for all that astral burning is just a tool that can be abused like any other thing, but is not inherently evil. My Milwaukee isn't evil, but with the proper drill-bit I could scramble somebody's brain in under 15 seconds I bet; just because I can abuse it doesn't mean the Milwaukee is evil.

*I'm a firm believer than n00bs and newb totally separate things, hence the use of the term like that.

I don't think it's right that someone can pay for a Maat's cap.

I don't understand how the leechers in smn burn parties don't see what is wrong with this, you are being power levelled, and doing nothing to attain level 75.

You are bypassing a chunk of the game, and that is simply; Wrong.

No, it's not what you asked, but I guess you fail to realize that you are the all powerful, all knowing Master of the Real World, and we are just peons compared to your intellect and wisdom in Real World Knowledge. I mean, after all, we play FFXI. How can anyone who plays FFXI have such a thing like a job, or a family, or any responsibility whatsoever? You're the expert! You're the teacher! So teach us, Oh Wise One! What DOES a patron of the Real World do at this time of night on a Monday?

By the way, nice Myspace, tool. Meet any hawk chikz lately?
