Got Hacked

I just got hacked and they already changed my password, how do I get a GM to freeze my account? It's incredibly annoying because I haven't visited any site or given out my information to anyone. The Playonline site is pretty confusing. Please help.

If any of your friends are in game ask them to call a GM and ask but I think you have actually ring SE to get it done. Not entirely sure though. Sorry to hear you got hacked :(

Don't they have a live chat with GM? I am unable to contact anyone I know in-game at the moment

There's a live chat feature on POL.com, but I think their hours are 9am PST to like 5PM PST. The EU site might have customer service open now though. I think you find the customer service button and follow from that. I'm on a phone ATM so I can't really look it up. Best of luck to you... I'm really sorry :s

Are you sure you got hacked? This sounds silly, but my friend thought he was hacked, but in actuality just had capslock on. Otherwise check you computer for keyloggers. Ffxiatlas, for example, has been known to contain malicious stuffs. No one else knows your account info, correct? :s

I don't have caps lock on, it said I was logged in from another terminal and it kicked me off each time I tried to log back in. I don't use ffxiatlas nor do I give out my information. For FF, I only visit BG, Wiki and AH.

Edit: Curse my NA account, can't contact the support for another few hours since the EU service can't touch my account. Ridiculous.

Hi my account got hacked too once what i did was go on the playonline site and get a free 14 day pass trial and then put in the codes made a new char then called a GM and he locked my account. Then on monday i called and did a account recovery and got all the stuff back they stole from me. It took a week and a half to get my stuff back you have to fax your drivers lic to SE and info then they do an account recovery. Go on google and search for ffxi free 14 day trial and get started for fast GM action!

Who changed your password ? SE or hackers ?

If that is the hacker, then the first step is contacting the Square Enix support center (https://support.na.square-enix.com/contact.php?id=20&la=1). They will make sure that you are the owner of the account, and provide you a new password.

One this new password has been acquired, you will be able to log in and see if any of your character has sustained damage during the period when your account got compromised.

From there, you will have to contact a GM to ask for a Game Data Recovery. You can only have one GDR per account if you do not own a token. Be sure to read the terms & conditions of GDR first : http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/rule/uacs01.html (bottom of the page).

One you agreed and proceed with the GM, then you account will be locked again during the rollback process. The GM will ask you for your personal email address so SE will be able to contact you again when the process is over.

Once the rollback is complete, you will get an email, the process usually takes ~2 weeks, but sometime can be much longer (up to 5 weeks but that's rare).

The hackers changed the account within a few minutes. Kicked me off all the time lol. Thanks for the info pika, will help a lot when I contact them.

So you were in game and got the "account logged in at another terminal" message and then couldn't log back in because the password was wrong? That sucks :( I always wonder how they change the password so damn fast cause I swear playonline is the slowest thing in the world when I try and change my settings.

I forgot to specify, if you character was moved to another server, do not forget to ask the support center for a refund once the rollback is done (not before).

They will be able to refund you the World Transfer Service fees.

People who use tokens have been hacked before though right?

Not especially. Can have a token even if you never been hack. Better safe than sorry.

I completely agree! I have a token and wouldn't part with it for the world but I wish I could completely at ease thinking it would be impossible for me to get hacked now.
