So, I don't think there needs to be a new thread. That was the point of not calling this "the fourth bout" etc.
Everything is basically locked in, as it were. The objectives may change slightly but by and large you can assume they're going to be more or less the same.
Do (element) damage.
Do a skillchain and/or burst.
Live through a buscade.
Cure and/or Raise someone.
Do one of the five minor bcnm/orb fights. (use bsts/pups for automatic wins)
Fish and/or craft.
Run the bird.
Not expecting anything radically different. The event is the same, the rewards are the same, no point in much discussion really.
The sortie crates are not special in any way. Still random. Segment campaign is still spectacularly mediocre. We will certainly hit the 150% goals. Blah blah blah.
I think we all know the deal by now. And as much fun as it was to ***on the first 3, I expect all the fun has been sucked out of it going forward.
Everything is pretty well explained.
(VBD) Are dailies

It's all simple ***, Win an Ambuscade. Don't die in ambuscade. Do obscure minigame. Pet/poke/etc your rearing monster. Chocobo dig. Fish.
Don't forget to wake up early and do Day Zero Dailies. http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/vanabout/
Is SE aware they still haven't put the vanabout ethereal weapons on any porter moogle storage slips? I could consider grabbing one for lockstyle if it wasn't perma inv-1.
FYI: BST can still solo the level capped 60 fights using Sultry Patrice. Just summon her outside the arena and enter (it doesn’t dismiss her) then you can fluid spread and digest to heal the slime.
Lovely. The fall-behind mechanic is still there. Do your dailies, kids, or you don't get more tomorrow. It's important that we have a way to put players out of sync with each other to make group activities harder to coordinate.
That link doesn’t work but lost chocobo refers to delivering a bird from the chocobo stables in one of the starting cities to another. One of the 3 NPCs will offer it in the stables.
Windurst to Jeuno is the second fastest run. Eiryl giving bad advice as is tradition. Also has the longest runs if you go Windy <-> Bastok/San, but thats a skill issue if you pick one of those.
I also highly advise against cheating in this. The game is actively logging elapsed time and doing a 20-30 minute run in ~5 minutes will probably flag everything.
For the Comet Orb daily, I went in Treasure and Tribulations. Managed to get lucky and pop the chest, didn't have to fight anything. Are any of the BCNMs pretty mindless?
The Ballista RoE is extra stupid because if you join but there aren't enough people it doesn't count, meaning you either have to gather up at least 5 other people to fake a match or you just can't complete it. Small servers are ***.

You can do a private match. Exchange 1 Copper Voucher for 1,000 Ballista Points. Go to Ru'Lude Gardens, talk to Tillecoe and reserve a match for a desired time. Get the book, use the book and pass pages out to characters to join. Once you're done trading the pages to people who are going into the private Ballista match, each person trade the page to Tillecoe and warp out there.
One person trades the page to the Herald once there and they are in control of the game rules and settings and can end the match at any point.

So, I just did that, played through an entire 20 minute match with two characters in there, mostly just beat up on my poor alt, scored 11 petras, saluted the herald at the start and end cutscenes... no credit for it on either character. I don't know if you need a whole six people, or if it expects you to go through the whole two hour reservation block or what.

We did the same, did 4 private matches. Five of us got credit after I ended the first match, while one person did not, even after a restart and everything. Seems there is a bug in that objective. No current solution for them, but maybe a non-private match will work.

Tried it again, this time I scored with both characters, ended it at 2 - 1, got credit. Maybe credit is based on sinking a petra?

I don't think so. My two alts did nothing but die. They literally did nothing while there and got credit after the first match. Just seems to be buggy for some reason.
This. I made the mistake of accepting the quest from the Bastok stables to windy woods not realizing just how long it was. I also didn't know I had a time limit (maybe she told me but I didn't read) and I got booted off the chocobo right when I got to tahrongi canyon. To be fair after I accepted it I went to the wiki to co firm how to get there and wasted some time there, plus it's been forever since I ran through all those maps so my routing probably sucked.
