So checked sam su5, and not only do we not get the new ws, but they took Kaiten away...
Quote: The bullet and arrow stack size is 1 and it's rare ex, so I guess the scavenge thing makes sense In other words the prime weapons don't have any ammo to go with them. Gotchya! Quote: but they took Kaiten away... I see what you did there Shiva.Alistrianna

The easy 3 step skillchains seem cool and all but doesnt the WS Wall on current endgame basically make that suck? Feels like these Prime Weapons would need a hidden effect to negate it for this to be relevant.

Have 2 people use 2 different weapons with the same sc props Asura.Saevel said: » Phoenix.Iocus said: » Sword is also the only listed Prime Weapon with Atk +70. If the theme is get to PDL, then at least it has that going for it. BLU could be very useful, RDM/PLD maybe less so without some serious hand holding. Not sure about PLD, RDM is already pretty strong in places where it does melee, typically low man team doing random stuff. Basically anywhere you'd be doing Excal. Not sure anything would put RDM into a premium DD slot though. At least 1 more buffer than a BLU would require. Still 70 atk is 70 atk and Gain-STR is pretty nice to pair with it. Hopefully the WS is good to great. Asura.Saevel said: » The refresh is obviously to makeup for not having infinite MP from Tiz. Probably more obviously to make it an Excalibur (Refresh+3) replacement. But certainly also helps address the loss of Tiz MP recovery. +4 refresh won't come close to replacing tizona's mp recovery. Easiest answer is that refresh and dt was the easiest thing they could come up with that benefits all of those jobs. It's the exact same ***they slapped onto sakpata sword (though somehow this thing has less stats and utility than sakpata sword which is hilarious).
Not saying the refresh replaces Tizona's effect, but it at least mitigates the loss somewhat is prob the thinking. A lot of current events (Sortie, Ody, Dyna, etc.) also tend to have a lot of running around where idle refresh+4 helps that whole time, as opposed to Tizona needing to actually be actively engaged.

If there is no hidden WS damage bonus to Prime WSs on each stage, then stage 4 is not that much behind stage 5 for many of those weapons. Could be more beneficial to make 10 x stage 4 in the time of one stage 5 probably. At least for people with many jobs. We probably wont know if there is hidden effect until someone make stage 5 though :/
Yeah but a single attack round from Tizona potentially recovers minutes worth of a 4/tic refresh so even if you include running around (which at least for my group you've got indi refresh anyways) I don't see the value.
I don't discount that SE would not have actually thought that deeply about it. I'm basing my perception entirely on the fact that they didn't honestly. But anyway. The WS needs to be monstrous for me to actually sink 6+ months into making the sword compared to some of these other weapons, that's the main point. We probably wont know if there is hidden effect until someone make stage 5 though :/ I was just thinking the same thing looking at these weps and thought I bet there is a hidden boost at later stages. In before people complain the ws's are underpowered with their stage 3 lol Yeah. If it takes 2-3 months to do a stage 4 and then an extra 3+ months to finish it to 5, that's a no brainer. We have to see how it's distributed to know for sure but based on Fujito's ominous "the final stage might be shocking" or whatever, I'm hedging my bets on it being backloaded. In any case, we'll see soon enough.
Valefor.Prothescar said: » based on Fujito's ominous "the final stage might be shocking" or whatever, I'm hedging my bets on it being backloaded It's a ridiculous number, (10,000 piece, 30,000 alex 10,000 bayld etc) but meaningless in context. 5 minute task for some is 1 year slog for others.
Normies soloing 50/10000 will be "shocked" but the zealots will be done in a week. It's also possible there will be an augmentation system added after the current phases are finished, meaning "finished" is completed augmentation as well.
I bet you trade the weapon with 5 +2 earrings and get random augments Oseem style. (/s....maybe) Offline
There is also a distinct lack of augments on the descriptions, which will undoubtedly happen at some point.
Question is will they go back and adjust any existing EMAs. Augments aren't a given. Those only exist on existing rema because they needed to be added to bring their power level up to match power creep. These have probably been designed to already account for that.

The context of the final stage being "shocking", I think (keyword), is that it'll be a larger difference comparing to the previous stages but perhaps at an individual (solo) level.
Likely (and this is just my opinion) when doing things as a group it may not be as exacerbated. It'll depend entirely on what the stones can drop from and how often they drop. If it's just basement chests and bosses then yeah, a group has more chances pr entry than a solo player would. It's still time gated with a finite number of rolls per day though.

in completely unrelated trivia nobody asked for
katana's japanese ws name is 是生滅法 (zesshou meppou / law of creation and destruction) but english is jijin kaimetsu which seems to translate to like... unlivening yourself? じじん (jijin) seems to be take that as you will great katana's japanese ws name is cool as *** tho - 絶之太刀・無名 zen no tachi ・ mumei something to the flavor of The Ultimate's Sword - Nameless there's ways to interpret this but either way it's neat because it (unintentionally or intentionally) makes a callback to sam's job unlock sword: mumeito themoreyouknow dot gif edit: maybe manque can show up and give a better interpretation pls Offline

Nothing SE could release would ever equate to the dps increase from Double Shot. I brought this up in RNG forum, but I have a theory... The weapon makes scavenge a substitute for unlimited shot. You don't use unlimited shot anymore, you just fire the bullet and scavenge another one. Any old RNG who fired off their PPA back in the day and wished that scavenge would recover it... you're welcome. Ultimately pretty lame since you're still getting a maximum of one bullet every 3 minutes

We probably wont know if there is hidden effect until someone make stage 5 though :/ That assumes that the upgrade currency works on more than one stage. Maybe every prime weapon takes 6 months because you have to hand in 10,000 Eikondrites to get, say, one Mesosiderite, or maybe the first one takes six months because Mesosiderites don't drop at all until you have a stage 4 prime weapon in your inventory. The second option is definitely more player-friendly. Valefor.Prothescar said: » Ultimately pretty lame since you're still getting a maximum of one bullet every 3 minutes Total unrelated side note: RNGs when doing Gaol fights and you get booted to the lobby afterward, don't forget to scavenge in the lobby. It's the same zone as the fight takes place in. Shiva.Alistrianna

Also, recycle procs on weaponskills so "at least once every 3 mins" is probably more accurate. Not amazing, but it makes an ability nobody cared about pretty useful if you have the weapons. |
