My line of thinking is, the only way to get access to the higher level (ultra rare) drops, is BBLT chests.
you never receive the Belligerent Bang, but the quality of loot is still the BBLT.
Yes. Prior to chest #3, you can never receive the notification. but the chest was still loaded as BBLT.
BBLT is the quality of chest. Not the presence of the Belligerent Bang Message.
The Belligerent Bang Message only occurs with these specific wooden chests still on the field.
There are 10 chests and 1 exit chest that spawn when we enter, their contents determined at random on spawn, but do not change. (A=Noise, B=Thud, C=Loud Thud, D=BBLT, F=Mimic)
1. A
2. A
3. A
4. A
5. A
6. B
7. B
8. C
9. A -> Becomes either B, C, or D after chest 8 is opened
Exit. A
In this example the player will never receive a Belligerent Bang notification even though there is a Loud thud on the field.
1. A
2. B
3. D
Exit. A
other chests on the field 4 B, 2 C
In this example the player will never receive a Belligerent Bang because they opened the specific Belligerent Bang chest prior to 3 chests. If a second Belligerent Bang Chest were among the loot available they would receive a notification after opening the third chest.
The message does not determine the loot category. That is determined prior to entry with the exception of chest #9 which is replaced after 8 chests are opened if it was a noise chest.

I wanted to do the dumb. Got BB message and LT on chest 7. popped chest 8 which got me a rainbow for chest 9.
this with a venus
Statistically this isn't a "dumb" move, because over a large sample size it's just the same as exiting on that 7th chest loud thud.
Here's why;
by taking the chance on that 7th chest LT, 50% of the time you'll get two LT chests, and 50% of the time you'll get a mimic and end up with nothing, which averages to 1 LT per run (which is the same as stopping when you get the 7th chest LT).
Oh snap, I read his thing wrong. I was incorrect in my statistical analysis of the situation
By KyLouie16 2022-04-14 21:55:51
So in thinking through this situation now if you get a LT on chest 7 and have 3 chests left to choose from STATISTICALLY it's a no brainer to pick a chest if your ultimate goal is LT or bust. 1/3 times you'll get a mimic and lose your LT. But 2/3 of the time you'll NOT choose a mimic and you'll end up with a rainbow and have 2 LT. This is a net gain in LT making this statistically the smart move to continue choosing chests if you get a LT on chest 7.

Consider that the 9th isn't guaranteed LT, it can pop T as well. 2/3 chance at LT sounds great, but it's also a 1/3 chance of throwing your LT away for a T. Still slightly favorable odds so I would push on.

The addition of Dyna D job items was pretty genius move, it fixed one of the major issues with the game on smaller servers.
Asura resellers prob big mad though.

It was good for the overall game balance, I like that they use trove and gobbiebox to fix deficits in item stock and balance the markets. I don't know that I'd call it a genius move though, the dyna d situation has been absolutely abysmal on every server besides Asura for years. They don't get a medal because they made a hamhanded fix this late imo.

@Vaerix
So you made a theory on Super Arare drops comes only from how you called BBLT chest because there is no screenshot of rare item that comes from LT that was:
* Not in the first 3 chests
* Not in the 9th Rainbow chest
* Not in the central coffer
* Not in the any other LT that was missing BB message
So that left us with LT in chests 4-8 without BB message being present. Have you considered that you simply don't have such screenshot, because not only getting good item is very rare, but you also reduced the chance several times by providing another limitation. LT in chests 4-8 without BB is very rare and here you not only need to get it, but then get rare drop from it and then post in on forum. Your whole theory is based on a fact that something rare hasn't yet happened. That's all.

That next LT could be void pieces or the middle chest could be a LT and you will miss the chance of getting that middle chest should you fail. So your gains might actually be less and your losses might actually be higher.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
Mars Orb: 10 chests & terminal Coffer.
Chests: 0~1 LT; 0~3T?
Chest 9: LT or Upgrade N/T to T/LT.
Terminal Coffer: N/T/LT
Potential LTs=0~3
Venus Orb: 10 Coffers & terminal Strongbox.
Coffers: 1~2 LT; 1~4T?
Chest 9: LT or Upgrade N/T to T/LT.
Terminal Strongbox: T/LT
Potential LTs=0~4 (can find mimic before you find your first LT)
Belligerent Bang simply means there's still a LT among non-terminal boxes.

If this were true, every run with a loud thud after 3 chests and prior to 8 chests would be preceeded by a belligerent bang. That's not the case.
Personal sample size of 5 clears with loud thuds that were chest >3 but <9, none received belligerent bang notification. Every time I saw a belligerent bang I promptly fed myself to a mimic, 30ish orbs this month 5ish belligerent bangs even encountered.

Asura resellers prob big mad though. I disagree. Now the loud thud pool just sucks. Also, I’m not on a “large” server and I used to sell shards from triboxing dyna. Now there are 800 of each on the AH. Overall, super garbage addition IMO!
Greater good.

There was no logical reason for the price of those shards. None. Zero.
COR feet: 3m
Rdm hands/head: 2m
Monk feet: 10k
The items drop from the same place at the exact same drop rate, but if you got the “good” drop (?) it was worth millions. There’s absolutely no reason why JEE gear should be so expensive, and not in large supply to begin with. The addition of another source was welcome, but it was very bad putting it in the pool for LT for voiditems. it should have just been a common drop from noises like shards are, or, idk, increase the drop from actual dynamis so there’s more of it? There’s always some ridiculous roundabout way SE’ addresses issues instead of the simplest method. That’s what’s the more annoying part IMO.
By Vankathka 2022-04-15 21:46:51
A strange take, the items do drop relatively the same but COR and RDM have highly desirable gear while monk does not, so yes, those prices do make sense 1 MNK making the gear to complete VS every COR and RDM making those pieces out of necessity.

Obviously some jobs and some pieces are more sought.
But when they did 99 dynamis, they did only 5 pieces, forgotten thoughts worked on all 22 jobs. Forgotten journey worked for all 22 jobs.
REM's chapters are also all 22 job, imagine if you had to get REM: Cor or REM: War, you'd be pissed.
Then they backslid into specific job pieces. That's the rub.
(and yes, it's entirely calculated, it keeps people able to farm and rob morons with 5m cor feet for years like it has instead of completely killing Dienamis119)

It doesn’t matter. It’s JSE and it shouldn’t be difficult or expensive to get regardless. The price or acquisition should be equal across sets. Would it be reasonable if Sakpata/Nyame gear cost millions more than any other sets? Even if you say “yeah it should”, SE doesn’t even agree with that model. Look at omen prices for materials. It’s not in any way reflective of the job stats on the associated gear. Or acquisition for ambuscade sets. Or pulse weapons from ambuscade. Should Naegling should cost 5x they amount of any other weapon, just based on How “highly desirable” it is? That logic is silly, and don’t apply. Why does it apply for THIS particular set of gear?
SE obviously goofed by first making the shards ex, then sellable but then they saw how disproportionate the prices and supply were, so addressed it further. They should have simply followed the same model as ambuscade instead of introducing 200+ individual sellable pieces of gear, and then “fixing” it later.

You mentioned price, I gave you a reason for the price, no one said it was good design, just that the logic is there for the price, also I think they wanted it to be a throwback to the old Dynamis which in itself is a terrible idea and why no one does the event.

Well back to Trove, the last sale of the Tathlum was 100m. Christ fellas it was a joke.
100m for the ring, 100m for the neck, 50m for the earring
Anyone selling a new item, regardless what it is or does for less than 100m is a moron, so if they went for 10, absolutely a steal

I can't imagine the neck having too much of a market at that price, given how few mages seem to actually use barstatus spells. I give it a month ir two before it starts dropping to the low 10s of millions.
The other ones are going to have a much longer stay at the ~100m mark, especially the ring.

I feel like I should know this, but, did we ever get an answer on the key differences between Mars and Venus orbs?
Pre April update, my experience was that I *felt* like I was walking away with more loud thuds on Venus, whereas with Mars I sometimes went 30 orbs and was kathwacked.

100m for the ring, 100m for the neck, 50m for the earring first couple of sales are most likely from main to mules in a attempt to completely overshot it's real value. usually works well to bait players who don't have to work for their resources.
sroda ring in particular is a weird item really. first i thought it's a solo player piece cause in a decent group you are often attack capped so the trust attack boost goes to waste but as a solo player you most likely aren't attack capped against anything challanging so the physical damage limit goes to waste.
the ACC loss due to -20 DEX might even nullify any gains for soloers over the next best option cause not all STR WS are single hit.
so yeah, i don't see sroda ring staying at 100 for long.
