Turned in exactly 100 bloodblotches so far.
Went 1/36 on confectioner's ring. Then 0/64 after.
Venom dust 4/100 total (hit 4/62 at best).
A fellow fisher said he's gone 2/50 or so.
Edit: Turned in 52 more, I'm 1/152 on ring, 9/152 venom dust. Fatigued for the day.

Got a 2nd confect ring after an additional 164 trades, bringing my average to exactly 2/200. Venom dust now averaging 11/211.
Can't say I like SE walking back their commitment to be clearer on gear stats with regards to these new rings. Should I assume that rusk + 1 and macaron + 1 basically bump any rusk or macaron up one tier to the next? Does a sugar rusk function as a chocolate rusk and a chocolate as a coconut rusk under the influence of the ring? Does a coconut rusk bump up to -8% material loss and +4 hq as if another tier of rusks existed? Same with the kitron macaron, does it become +9% skill rate and +9% success rate?
And I'm left wondering if you have to put the ring on before eating, or if the food bonus goes up and down if you take the ring off and on.

Shen: Can confirm you get Riftcinder drop (have photo proof if necessary). Also got a Pearl twice. Went 3/114 on items - only 1 Riftcinder.

It looks like the running tally for Confectioner's ring is 6/500 according to reports here, so drop rate seems to be 1%.

In this case, I am happy it is delayed. There is a small chance the audience will directly ask about the rings in chat. If it was before the update, they might not show a ring so no-one would know to ask.

Any word or thoughts on what the Seabird Ring does for us fishers?
No idea, I don't have the seabird ring and don't plan on testing it, but if I had to guess, given a particular bait targets both higher and lower level fish in a given zone/area, it could merely increase the chance of catching lower level fish in that pool of fish. This can be useful for targeting guild point items and/or fishing for skillups in areas where you can't catch the higher level fish yet (although I can't particularly think of one, maybe Nashmau). This would be similar in concept to the Puffin Ring that targets larger prey.
If "low-rank fish" does not mean fish level, it could mean fish size instead.
It bamboozles me why this ring is level 30 and others are level 15 or lower.

Update for drop rate data: Went 3/340, 15 trades later, 4/355.
New totals: 4/389 rings, 29/389 dust. Moving on to different fish.
Update: tried Malicious Perch, 1/34 1st ring, 1/3 on 2nd, 2/37 total. Finishing totals: 2/64 pati rings, 2/64 venom dust.
Update 2: Eating a Kitron Macaron with the ring on did not increase the food duration.
New totals: 4/389 rings, 29/389 dust. Moving on to different fish.

Yeah it could be a few things.. bit of a weird description. I'm thinkng either:
1) fish at or below your skill level are easier to pull in
2) higher catch rate for lower level fish
3) targets low weight/size fish to make winning the fish ranking competition easier.
