Just made a video for RDM VD clear. Incidentally, this is my fastest time (I have had tons of practice). Got super lucky (only 1 MG, 3 QC procs for MB nukes aside from the initial Spontaneity, and Cataclysmic Vortex hit my Shadow Ring (proc), plus very long open wing's mode). Of course nothing dropped.
YouTube Video Placeholder Started sleeping then debuffing after reading a suggestion from another player. I always reuse Saboteur after 50% since Shinryu gains access to Protostar (all ja reset, including SPs), so that it will be available if an enfeeble falls off. Generally I save TP for a 2-step + MB when wings are open, but you might not get TP fast if he uses Mighty Guard, so be prepared to just nuke instead if you're hitting for 0s. Emergency cure = Sanguine Blade. Since 2021 0/284 on Armor/Weapons Dia 3, frazzle 3, distract 3, paralyze 2, slow 2, and addle 2. I think you can silence him but id rather he cast than use tp moves

Shinryu instant casts as part of his routine of attacks. Therefore, outside of lowering his magic accuracy (for like paralyze from Gyve Charge), Addle is 100% useless. Doom from Supernova is also 100% land rate from what I've seen.
Shinryu swings, uses TP moves, casts, repeat. He doesn't require tp to use moves either. If he's not silenced, he can use heavy damaging magic spells, including Kaustra (cannot be removed), which could be bad if you're hit with a spell after Cataclysmic Vortex. IMO, there's no advantage to letting him cast. It'll just give him something else to hit you with. I'd much rather him use Atomic Ray or Cosmic Breath than Firaga4. Also, I'm about 95% sure Slow 2 does absolutely nothing to slow his attacks down. I've done the fight with and without it, and he always attacks the same routine every 2-3 seconds. 1% be like that.
VD solos are fun for a bit, but it's more efficient to farm lower difficulty with that drop rate. 1% for the 5 drop slots, so 0.2% for any specific item you want.
Extra Trash. When SE Implements a piece of content that rewards worse than the EXTREMELY Diluted lottery system the have, then it's clearly unbalanced and not worth pursuing Lakshmi.Buukki said: » Shinryu instant casts as part of his routine of attacks. I would still addle because I don't want para. I almost always lean into magic damage on RDM because it just really doesn't take any until you get to T3s for ody but I can give silence a try. I still have a cloak to get. I'm way north of 200 attempts and I have gotten the knife for my wife but that is all I've ever seen. Seeing anything definitely takes the madness away. I hope you get something soon. Lakshmi.Buukki

I convinced myself a long time ago this fight doesn't actually drop anything, I just use it to dump merits after Segs or Sortie. At this point it's white noise to me and I wouldn't recommend anyone farm this htbf, but figured I'd share the strat for people who still have some sliver of hope that it does

This makes sense for Odin/Lilith/Cait Sith HTBFs, because the phantom gem KIs only cost 10 merit points. You can spam 7-8 of those fights back to back within an hour on a Normal or Diff setting and see better drops. That's how I got a few of my Malignance pieces. Shinryu on the other hand is completely screwed up because it's 30 merit for a phantom gem, so you can only do 3 fights max (assuming you have a KI already) until you have to refill merits. Combined with the horrific drop rate on any armor/weapon, it would be an even worse grind, despite the fight being 5-8min faster. Those other HTBFs you can do more than double the amount of fights in less time for a better drop rate. The two scenarios don't even compare when it comes to doing lower difficulties. Offline

I was clearing more than double the number of VD runs at lower difficulty. Since the drop rate is the same in all difficulties, quantity over quality IMO. I feel like this becomes more valuable the closer you get to being finished too. I honestly enjoy fighting things for more than 3 minutes. I just wish there was a grief system that let you choose a piece after you hit your 500th VD win. 1 time only

Shinryu 2.0 and it's drop rate is awfull but the accessories have a reasonable drop rate and you can get the auto reraise and impact from 1.0. What's left are the 2 crapuscular weapons. I don't know how situationally the scythe might be interesting but afaik the knife, although I'd like one myself, is only a decent off hand upgrade. If you look at the average time it takes to farm one I think it's quicker to upgrade the odyssey knife, if you have access to the higher tiers or farm a REMA.
The only reasonable thing to do here is ignoring this Wiki states that Impact debuffs will always take effect at full potency, but the duration may be cut via resist. Ergo, it stands to reason that Crep Cloak has significant utility over Twi Cloak for the sake of casting Impact.

If you don't do master trails and make use of the options above I think you'll do fine without the 119 version. crep. cloak is also generally going to be 10~11 seconds lower recast than twilight cloak thanks to the haste +9% on it.
quite useful if you're casting it for TP. (aminon) Offline

'Additional drop slot' and 'increased drop rate' should probably be considered separately. VD will always result in more loot per run on average, but the time it takes to complete in comparison makes it runner-up for the loot per time, at least in my experience. Offline

The dagger is just bragging rights ablnd i believe gletis with any.sort of augs was proven to be superior. I'd be more interested in it if any of jobs on it could use the omen QA ring but don't think there are any. That all said, none of these peices warrant such an abysmal drop rate. Wish SE would bring it in line with Odin drop rate or atleast reduce the merit cost. Post from a guy who doesn't want to post here.
He claims this data comes from personal experience and very large numbers. He claims he has full drops from Shinryu so, if true, that must mean pretty big sample I suppose? Or extremely lucky lol In his opinion the loot pool is divided in two groups. The basic items and the rare ones. They share the drop slot (so TH does nothing to increase the rare ones pop rate) and the rare ones have a ~1% drop rate. He claims the big difference between difficulties is how often a drop slot appears, but you have no control on what you're gonna find inside. Also says it's hard to get solid data unless you delete/mule the three basic items each time, otherwise a drop slot could "pop" but you'd see nothing in the treasure pool because you already own those items Very easy First slot pop rate: ~75% Second slot pop rate: 0% Easy First slot pop rate: ~80% Second slot pop rate: 0% Normal First slot pop rate: ~85% Second slot pop rate: ~5% Hard First slot pop rate: ~90% Second slot pop rate: ~20% Very Hard First slot pop rate: ~95% Second slot pop rate: ~35% Now I wonder where he got this data, could be close to the truth but probably not the truth? My experience on VD with TH5 has been slot 1 is 100% for instance. He claims his data was recorded with TH but doesn't say if it was TH4 or TH8+ Oh he also claims another thing from when SE patched this. He claims when they raised the KI cost they raised the pop rate of the "slots" but didn't increase the internal split between "common" and "rare" items. Offline

You'd basically need someone in group who never holds any of the items to get an accurate measure. I don't tow alts so I can't really speak on the data. I guess I would just be curious to know whether it includes pre-adjustment runs or not. Asura.Sechs said: » Oh he also claims another thing from when SE patched this. Cloak comes from AMAN chest. Trust me on this. We’ve seen 4 in the past 6 weeks.

Honestly, can you or anyone else provide actual proof via a screenshot that they have ever seen the cloak drop from this battlefield? I haven't had anyone post proof of it, and you know how much people love posting pics of them getting a kclub or aman drop. How do we even know this battlefield drops the cloak (being serious here, what if its 100% bugged)? |
