As long as you cobble together a collection of jobs that includes basic crowd control, some acc/att boosts and/or eva down/def down debuffs, you should be able to win. Lakshmi.Buukki

Anybody try to simply brute Force this fight by using rolls bubbles songs etc and having a couple of ninjas take it down? I thought aura steal only goes off if a physical hit lands.
BG says yes, it would work, if you wanted to try that route.
It just wasn't worth the risk, it would be incredibly frustrating with pug, every melee would have to have and keep up shadows reliably. btw, you can use geos and they are very helpful.
just do things that affect the rats like torpor/frailty any self buff like haste, precision, fury is a no go. should make life much easier on the accuracy and jobs. good luck ^^ Lakshmi.Buukki

Aren't they immune to Geomancy?
Rats do not have any moves that can remove shadows so it would actually not be that hard to keep shadows up while bouncing hate, IDK No the full buff/zerg strat DOES NOT work anymore and no GEO debuffs DO NOT work. Boss does TP move called Steal Support which goes through shadows and ignores the "get hit" mechanic. GEO debuffs can easily be tested by sleeping adds and casting GEO-Poison.

^ can confirm, tried that early on also, but he kept absorbing songs/rolls even when shadowed up so it got scrapped quickly.
RDM you have a spell called Inundation use it...
Sometimes camera angles could make the bomb hard to target but maybe DAT changing the bomb to something else could maybe make it easier to target temporarily for the month... if anyone has an idea on what the qiqirn bomb dat is

Maybe you can move the char facing the corner instead of the adds?
Ragnarok.Ayami said: » No DNC, it's overrated!. enjoy :) I would say it's appropriately rated. BLU and DNC seem interchangeable. We were down to 5 minutes 15 seconds with DNC/SAM/DRG/DRG. Ragnarok.Ayami said: » Our time would be much faster if we buff outside. we didn't start the fight until 45 secs in. What I mean is that I wouldn't want to do this fight without a DNC or BLU in party, but I definitely wouldn't want both at the same time. You either get a BLU or a DNC. Ragnarok.Ayami said: » YouTube Video Placeholder We changed up our setup a bit from our previous run and manage to get a 5 mins clear with this(could be faster with prebuff and/or better DDs!). SC and/or magic Dmg I think
We typically only get 1 SP ability used on an add if Dps isnt fast enough on pull, And main boss has 1 he uses like any SP ability, unless Sc dmg isnt there. Dead qiqirns can't PD. whether it's steal ability that causes PD or X seconds w/o a skillchain; neither matters if it dies before the trigger activates.

Had a few ideas for max defense down.
Looking at bst with the slug you get 33% If you sub dnc you can add another 23% Is this correct? I read on bgw that you can max box step x10 Or is this limited in subjob? Further more adding dia 3 20% Adds to 76% defense down? If geo was possible you can end up with more then 100% Or is it capped? Could't find info on it. Fenrir.Kaldaek

That would also take about 25 seconds to put full effect on, and cost 500TP (100 per step), assuming you don't miss. Doing that on every add would be a huge dps hit. Just bring a real DNC to pair with BST

Tnx for the responses, this should added to bgw.
Anyone know the cap on defense down? ksoze said: » Tnx for the responses, this should added to bgw. Anyone know the cap on defense down? I assume a monster could theoretically get pushed all the way to 0 def, but your pDif would cap well before that, meaning there's a point where additional def down (or attack up on your party) won't yield any further DPS increase. if you run with a BLU it might be a good idea to ask him to set Plenilune Embrace, its not as efficient for healing as magic fruit or white wind but it comes with a magic attack and more importantly a attack buff of 1%-15% depending on moon phase, lasts 90 seconds.

Ragnarok.Ayami said: » I believe Perfect Dodge is triggered by steal ability. If NM successfully steal your abilities they will PD right after so best to put them all on cool down. Skillchain probably has nothing to do with this. We paid more attention to this last night, and I can confirm that PD went off after an ability was stolen. If an ability did not get stolen, we did not see PD. I am fairly confident that this is the trigger. What I do not know is if there is any cooldown (if it spams Ability Steal, will it immediately trigger PD again?). If there is a cooldown, it is not very long. |
