I agree, I still think Texas going blue is an extreme longshot this year, for the same reason I think Trump is losing this year, the Senate. John Cornyn is up for re-election, and he is the favorite to win. Despite Beto pushing Ted Cruz to the brink in '18, its a different race, and I think Trump will ride Cornyn's coattails to a narrow win. And I think Joe Biden is going to do the exact same thing in Arizona.

these discussions are possible not because of gaining strength in the Democratic movement, but in large swaths of typical Republican groups losing faith with that party as they move away from traditional values associated with them.

Not to delve too deeply, but they're losing their base to no one right now, and that's the scary scenario that Eiryl mentions.

Chauvin is facing a max 40 years, min 15. The other three are actually the same. There is already news that at least one of the charged is willing to do a plea deal against Chauvin.

I don't know if it was mentioned on here, but this was a training for Kueng and Lane with Chauvin serving in a instructor capacity. Neither of the men had worked a full shift as an officer.

I think at the end of the day, historically speaking Texas is purple. That’s if you go back beyond when Bush was governor. But this whole national election is absurd at this point. It’s also absurdly quiet compared to previous election cycles
