WTH is a T1 tornado, is it the Schwarzenegger version, and if so, will the T2 shift from a tornado into an earthquake, maybe even a blizzard just for shiggles?
Ya know, pithy comments like this are why internet discussions turn into *** trash fires.

You could have just politely corrected, an extremely minor detail compared to the rest of the scope of his comment and left it at that. Btw after the pithy comment, you didn't even bother to comment on the real point he was trying to bring up.....

Stay classy as always XIAH.

It's not a big issue.

Plus, it's nice to know that the word "pithy" is your word-of-the-day.

Lego to stop selling police playsets and pledges 4m to stop racism.

This is hilarious, seeing all these *BRANDS* virtue signalling like this and throwing all police under the bus to do it.

It isn't really virtue signalling... it is trying to distance themselves from bad PR.

You know, the absolute irony of it all was that, less than 2 weeks ago, police officers were being applauded for COVID response.

Remember the "Thank you First Responders" campaign that went on for that? Officers are part of the "First Responders" group....

I don't know, I think the term "virtue signalling" is getting hijacked.

I just see a company capitalizing on current events like they have basically forever.

A literal Google search shows 42,500,000 results for the "First Responders" campaign.

Most notably, free food and services for them. Generally, one big thanks. Still celebrated.

You should know better.

I don't disagree with you. But Kireek has a point.

This is a ploy at virtue signalling. Abet a bad one, but still.

Well, people are starting to realize that they don't have a job and are running out of money while there are a bunch of "First Responders" who are overpaid with desk jobs, a cushy retirement plan and armed themselves to the teeth with the most expensive toys.

Morality scales with the amount of long term money you have. It reaches the peak somewhere between "a bit" and "modest" while it seems to get very flexible in the negative wealth or very wealthy.

Nearly all of the issues that arise from unemployment during COVID is placed squarely on the local and state governments. A little of it is on the Federal government, since nearly all state governments use the Federal guidelines, but absolutely none of the unemployment issues are at the fault of first responders. To assume or insinuate that they are at fault is dishonest at best.

Morality is an individual trait. A person's moral standing differs irregardless of wealth accumulation. There are equal amounts of "moral" people in all classes (as a percentage of population, not a sum total of population) as there are "immoral" people.

Class and wealth have zero to do with morality.

Looters going to loot.

The rioters and looters are brainlets, the people who lead them into areas to smash and grab are not. There are handlers behind these actions.

It won't work but that's obviously what they are trying to do, they know there is a guiding force behind the mindless violence, the same brain that is planting the bricks around etc.

Amazon took a stand and they don't have significant retail stores, though?

I mean, brands can stand for social justice. They have in the past, like when a bunch of companies pressured states over their transphobic bathroom bills.

They have plenty of warehouses in these large cities that are just loaded with loot.

Nobody says that they can't. But they should (and probably do) know that pandering to a specific audience alienates other audiences.

I for one will never buy a Gillette razor for the rest of my life, thanks to their ad-campaign that men should shave their balls off last year.

I had never heard of this... I went to YouTube. All I could find was a video of a guy "reacting" to an ad where (in his opinion) men were asked to metaphorically shave off their balls (masculinity).

Is this what you are referring to or is there something more overt?
