Soooo If I was SE, the easiest solution would be to Hot swap out the medal with some new item or going backwards & making it ex, at the same time closing the "exploit" & just basically telling the entire community "So Long & Thanks for all the fish".

Funny that in the end, the actions of just one server screw over the entire community. If not careful, that server could just one day disappear as the method of resolving the exposure to the community...

It's not just one server it's been happening on all servers. It was just shown off on the biggest server to stop it.

What I always find funny are the new users that are created and post when this stuff happens and always have a great opinion

SE could probably just change the name of the items needed to exchange for shards and mats... it would make stored medals on mules useless. A side effect would be the rest of us who didn’t dupe get shafted.

What I dont understand is that the claim was that finding this dupe was an "accident." That means there was no attempt to find this. That also means that this cant be relating to some kind of coding/packet/manipulation whatever it is.

If it's accidental, then it had to be related to something occurring while simultaneously something *** up. Like a disconnect? Or a "cancel" of some sort? Hmmm.

No, but for the people that followed from the beggining, and some others that was involved thought I was behind said issue. It was not me, so I followed up with the person, and noted that the source of the issues that had started this entire thing had been found.

To think I was looking for attention is a pure sign you have not a single *** clue what went on to begin with; night guys.

Elidyr - I think I understand where you're coming from. I see your profile. You have a lot accomplished in the past. You love d this game even though we all know it's in its "final years." Like me, and many of us, we dont trust SE to patch this, and that's why you dont want to out the secret, because thatll cause the game to collapse - terribly. But what is your logic for keeping it a secret? Is the main reason you're concerned about the game unbalance that would unfold? Because if so, that doesnt make you a bad guy at all. You're the whistle blower. In a sense, you're the guy that can actually help stop this from happening.

I'm more curious about you than this exploit at this point.

I hope they patch because of how far this got. I actually stopped really playing and was only doing RMT for personal reasons; none of which I stated because I don't want to feel like I am attempting to get a sympathy vote. The reason I keep it secret now is for the others that still use this. My intention was never to to ruin the economy for any player. I actually had strict personal rules, and can support my claims with quotes/timestamps. Im not looking for an approval, I am just simply answering questions as I have nothing to hide.

Edit: Sent you a PM. - Also when all this went down I was in XIV, definitely not the whistle blower lol, unless you're trolling me. I have slept in 2 days now though so hard to tell. :/

Personal reasons - I get it. Times can be tough. Again, not judging, especially when it comes to RL money problems.

When this hopefully gets patched, I just hope it comes out. My inner journalist is squirming.

Ya know, usually there is always someone that spills the beans. Every time theres been an exploit, it's never lasted this long after being "found out"

Let it be patched and then someone can let it out. You know damn well more people dont meed to know about this. If you ever loved this game, and I know you did, then you know it should remain hidden to as many people as possible.

Yeah and that is honestly where my mistake come in. The few that knew how to do it actually kept it under raps for a while pretty well. I slipped up though and I know where my mistake was; there is no denying that.

I /really/ wanted to fit: Item duping, RMT, tools, lua-to-do-everything-for-you, and botting on the left, but meh.

The only way it gets patched is when enough people know how to do it, it's totally ignorable until a certain amount of bodies cross a threshold.

Just like they did with the craft sphere bots? Maybe complaints will get lucky and get some attention, but I FRIGGIN KNOW if they do anything they will say something like:

We are sorry for no updates for December~March 2020. We had to take our one coder that was busy off of his high from making a watermelon mandy pet to take 4 months to think up a way to fix this. Thank you for your patience.
