Funkworkz you are missed
I fear for the day when core members that maintain BG/AH/Windower decides to stop.
Fenrir.Jinxs said: » Funkworkz you are missed He absolutely is, but we just don't know how to do whatever it is that he does. I'm sure someone would LOVE to pick it up and dump it onto BG, but we just don't know how to do it. Plus, whenever people start a new "[Month] Version Update" thread on their own (and it's not purple text), it's viewed as the ghetto version. Gets largely ignored, until Funk posts his official thread, then that becomes the staple we use for the remainder of the month. And we forget about the other one. So even if we could do whatever Funk does, would feel weird reading it in a thread that wasn't officially started by him (my opinion here, irrelevant in grand scheme) Load Bearing Funkworkz is the least ideal situation so I sure would like some backup people!
>it's boring everything is solved!
>why are you making us wait on solving everything via tools immediately?! Lakshmi.Buukki said: » I'm sure someone would LOVE to pick it up and dump it onto BG, but we just don't know how to do it. Plenty of people know how to do it. Windower (through ResourceExtractor) and Ashita both dump the item dat data. It's a matter of an hour or two to use existing knowledge to make a process that generates the correct output format including the images. What we don't have is the backdrop used for their screenshots, the desired format specification, or the administrative privileges used for the import process. Right now, it looks like he runs a script on a local copy of the wiki files then does an import of all of them. I can see why they wouldn't want to give that access to randoms. However, it's been indicated during past updates that parts of the process are still manual for them, and at the very least they could accept help making it easier. Trying to contribute items one at a time or do manual edits isn't likely to be helpful to their process. Using a bot to do it as normal edits is clunky and taxes the servers more plus could come off as condescending or rude. So, as long as they aren't interested in collaboration it's kind of stuck. I don't fault Funk for not dropping everything to update; it just seems like a more robust process could be established to remove the Funk-specific steps and a couple more trusted people could be given access to run it. ilugmat said: » >it's boring everything is solved! >why are you making us wait on solving everything via tools immediately?! If it was that important, why don't the developers just tell you everything in the patch notes? Why don't all game developers tell you everything day one actually, you have to know afterall?
You act like it's imperative you have to know this stuff day one, it's not. You didn't know the day before the patch, why is it so important to know it on the day of it? Maybe try figure it out or is that a ridiculous concept now? Impatience (other than people who are trying to $ from getting the information asap) Asura.Hya said: » Nobody is talking about using tools to solve how to tackle content or play the game. If it was possible, that would be posted day one too. There is a balance between making things too transparent and easily understandable vs. so obscure it takes years to test and document. Without wiki would anyone bother to play this game?
As the amount of gear added has slowed guides are less relevant, but man not so long ago you would see gear advice threads or guides posted in daily because most people don't know enough to make every one of those decisions on their own. ilugmat said: » If it was that important, why don't the developers just tell you everything in the patch notes? Airship music is easily in my top 5 for FFXI, take a ride if you haven't in a while.

Given he's doing it routinely, wonder if we can request him to make a brief guide or YT video on how to do it so that the burden is less on him. People have brought up good points that semi-requiring one person to do this every time is a bit unfair to that person while also meaning there is no alternative. I for one have 0 idea how the geniuses even do DAT file mining of the files. Dodik said: » We should all be forced to walk everywhere because homepoints are cheating. What eva do you have that you've narrowed it down to 129? That's interesting information. Which mobs and buffs? So I went into Temenos today at 131 and I had (mostly) capped evasion with 1351 evasion on me (no food/buffs, just the +stats Limbus thing) pretty confident the Yagudo samurai have zanshin cause that guy was hitting me a lot more than anything else and seemed to be double attacks per round with second one hitting most of the time. And of course I then ate a self-destruct that did 3300+ damage to me, that my alt and every trust took less than 500 damage from, so good times. I might have missed it somewhere but, can anyone confirm if the new Grip has an Ilvl finally or not? Any info is appreciated, Thank you!
Taint said: » Well they also gave NIN shadow bloat forcing them to kill the entire idea. Keeping up shadows was a skill at 75 cap especially as a SJ. Stunning bosses was also WAY more engaging than absTP strats. The moves for the most part weren't FUs for missing a stun just a ton of chaos. Gades of Hades anyone? If you are the same Taint drk player from old Cerberus server, when I read that, I remembered my sister and I use to be on stun duty and rotation with your nin/drk back in KoN and WW days! lol Holding Tiamat til HNMLS woke up and got there with just a PLD and RDM/DRK anyone? Hello ! First time posting
I may have missed something…but il make this short and sweet! I personally enjoy ninja tanking. Since the release from ToAU I was a very young ninja/drg/bluemage, I remember playing without CoP, and being young and not having a steady income game wise. Scoring Utsusemi: Ni and being able to get some decent gear along with the flexibility that in 75 era ninja hadit going on. I think I may have the solution to bring ninja back to a fair and balanced meta! Why not give us a Rune Fencers “Foil” spell in ninjutsu but for magic evasion? Omg have I been waiting to post that ! Lol During the survey I asked for them to releas the Mog bonanza weapon. Proud owner of a ninja main / yagyu darkblade / Dokoku III Can’t wait to see your guys take. Do devs see thee post? Thank you for sticking around! Loyde said: » I might have missed it somewhere but, can anyone confirm if the new Grip has an Ilvl finally or not? Any info is appreciated, Thank you! Good question! That has always been in the back of my mind for Chatoyant Staff, is there any other weapons you would use that with? grips are treated like non-consumable ammo i thought and just have basic level #s, no ilvl on them as that would "require" x skill+ based on ilvl
