We can basically all haste cap reasonably without her. We're all just lazy and don't want to have to think about how to do it.

Not really the players fault the brds decide its tine to swap to ballads/paeons because other trusts burn their MP or cant handle an aoe. Alternativelty not the players fault trusts are at war with each other on giving the player haste 1st, even if 1 is haste 2 while the other is haste 1. Cornelia turns a general annoyance into almost a non-issue, not even going into if trusts have job related lockouts i.e mages only getting ballad/refresh or cors only preludes/flurry
I generally agree that trusts are kinda dumb, but that was sort of the point of them a little bit right? Good enough to do mundane stuff, bad enough that they don't fully replace actual players?

I don't have much of a dog in the fight in the grand scheme of things since I play Samurai and haste capping with Hasso is a joke, but I guess that must suck for anyone who wields more than 1 weapon at a time.

SAM still needs 40~% magic haste unless you want to load up on all the hasso+ gear so SAM aint quite safe from trust stupdity either, zanhasso/high natural STP just pads the issue somewhat

Think the only job that can live with just a basic haste2 is drk under LR with 5/5 desperate blows and even they are juuust under the cap, every other job needs atleast 1 additional haste source

Even with all hasso+ gear your not capping attack speed without a march or cornellia, just using trusts. Getting King of hearts to keep up haste2 is easy.

Unless I am missing something?

Hasso:19
Gear haste 25
Haste 2 30
74% so not hitting cap.

Arciela will always haste the player regardless of job and overwrites anyone else's Haste 1 with Haste 2. She's easily the best choice if that's the only thing you're asking for from your trust slot.

(I don't think she even casts Dia, so it's not like she's without issues. But if you just want haste...)

Arciela and King of Hearts are examples of the crap trust system tbh. One will overwrite your haste with haste II which is awesome, but they don't Dia III or phalanx II, so imo it's better to go with King and click off your haste I until he haste IIs.

Yup, but as you said you lose dia, she also can be slow to put it back up due to the whole mode switch thing, she is my go to if i just care about getting h2 but generally ill default to koru or king for the dias but obviously they have their own issues

The nice thing about the Hasso+ gear is that its also just good itemization on its own. Kasuga Haidate +3 are a solid TP piece that also just gives you big chunk of DT and the Hasso buff. Wakido Kote aren't quite as good but they're better than like 80% of other items still. For exping and stuff while solo its pretty servicable.

KoH doesn't use buffs on other pt members (which most of the time is not really relevant, but still, just saying), he has better than average defensive stats/HP, uses Dia3 as his first action.
He tends to stand in melee range and he does melee alas, also if you're using for whatever reason a Light or Fusion or Fire SC, he will magic burst with an AoE fire spell, pulling everything around.

Koru-Moru is more solid but with crap HP and won't haste2 some jobs (and his haste2 won't overwrite Haste1, so if you're using it with stupid Sylvie, that's a problem for example)

Annoying and unwanted AoE moves are a bane of many trusts.
Ygnas and Arciela for instance.

If they ever decide to "power up" Trusts, that could be a nice thing to do.
A command that disables Trust WSs and another for Trust AoE actions.
Give players the freedom of choice and it's already a whole new world for trusts, if you ask me.

Oh I don't disagree with you about the King/Koru comparison. I've defaulted to King because Koru flurries COR and I hate Koru dying when they convert. Both have their merits though.

Blue Mage can cap delay by itself. BRD can with a dual wield subjob.

Technically we can add NIN and DNC to the group too.
They can cap attack delay with just haste2 thanks to Dual Wield. (not even counting Haste Samba).
In addition to high base trait, they have access to multiple gear with good stats and high DW values.
I get that raising DW progressively lowers TP return from melee hits, but it can still be beneficial.
Think about content where you can't use trust, or your trusts died, you can still hit attack cap delay even without any form of Haste on those 2 jobs.

BLU practically can only self cap haste for ~8:49 minutes out of 10.

I shouldnt have said only job but jobs that are unable to give themselves magical haste. Applying that then GEO/BLU/BRD can technically self-sustain when DWing, though blu will have a small period of being undercapped when MG wears

Are yall really discussing the inconveniences soloers face over an inability to reliably cap haste??

Heres a novel idea: find other people to play the multiplayer game with. Trusts should not be replacing the potential of PCs. Imagine doing V25 with an army of easy cyclable DD trusts that can cap accuracy and drop 99999 WSs. Cycling through August, AAEV, Gessho, AAMR, Amchuchu capped dt tanks (amchuchu with an extra -25 PDT II). Four song joa and ulmia.

Cmon

Haste is one of the easiest things trust can do, that is if their AI didnt stumble ontop of each other or even themselves, dont think ive seen any requests for a yag whm trust or for sylvie to get an idris or shan II to quick cast tier 6 nukes.

They function at a baseline aside from that single annoyance, which cornelia bypasses, so best girl and best trust, sorry that id like to just have haste + double march when im messing around and noones on

Don't think soloers want their trusts show boating in their face with 99999s, but other than that this is da way.

Can already see 1500 HMP and 60 cinders required for the 3-4 song trust BRD, they'll still be singing all the songs but marches. Of course only lasts till sunday JP midnight befor it requires another batch of HMP and cinders.

Look, trusts are never going to match players in gear, song slots or anything like that.

That basically turns XI into single player. No thanks.

I wonder if the Odyssey Shoal bonus's could be made permanent outside of that zone? Would provide for an interesting boost to trust stats without making them overpowered, and give people a reason to collect the bonus's in all three zones.

It's been said before, but they really ought to just poach the gambit system from XII so folks can program the trusts to behave how they want at any given time. I know, I know, ps2 limitations, etc.

Anyone want to speculate what is going to take them 6 hours to do tonight?

My brain is saying it's just besieged, but I want to pretend it's hardware related or they are changing something more systematic than just make the beastmen go up to level 10.

Fingers crossed for an early Christmas with some new gear to look forward to.

Got the new gear feeling
Besieged related
They will keep going until every slot is JSE
Even after that they will do something like
Aeonic and Prime gear
Maybe +3 some of the earlier 119 stuff
