i have the same problem since 3 days as well. you have to disable it in FFXI config AND windower config. i still have other issues w/ as well. like my x y windowsize reset every single time and i also lag alot since the same time around bubbles/teleports(reisenjima)/crystals which i hadnt done since 3 years+ . there has srsly gone something wrong w/ the last update and tbh i thought i was only me who had this gamepad problem so now i think other ppl might also have my other problems :o . i hope it gets fixxed soon bc doing Omen w/ 3 Geos is hell ;;

Hi guys! First, big THANK YOU for all you do. Having a minor nuisance issue, if you will. After windower updated to hook 4.3.09, notice a <1 second stutter or lag when switching characters. I dual on same machine using an autohotkey script and keypress on controller. It happens on both laptop and desktop after both updated. Never an issue on hook < 09. Tried dev build, hook .13, and same. Using Logitech controllers F310 and F710 and same issue. Thanks again, you all are rockstars!!

I don't use gamepad at all, but after dev upgraded to .13, even typing in normal windows as i am doing now, my character is responding to the keystrokes.... I am on windows 10 creator updated version. tried above suggestion,disable gamepad but does not work for me.

I'm exactly the same. Forgot to mention win 10 creators update also.

Same here. Both options are disabled
I don't have creators update but I still get this problem.
Both my characters are reacting to keystrokes as I'm typing in this forum.
Using -DEV .13

Same issue, while typing in this monitor my character going nuts in other. I can't just turn off Gamepad (tried it, didn't work anyhow) or my controller doesn't work. I don't play on Keyboard Only. Using DevBuild which I had to switch to the other day just to get my game to not crash after 60 seconds of being logged in being that I am on Windows 7 64 bit. Trying to be positive but seems every time I log in some other nightmare to deal with.

so is there any chance there gonna be something done about this excruciating lag around glowy objects / mega buffs (hastega's , cor rolls, bubbles, entrance of reisenjima) ??
i had it NOT and now i have it! so to me its something windower related ><; my GC is up to date so i cannot update it any further ;;

Thank you for your hard work,If i can ask is there anyway for maybe an option to turn off updates instead of blocking them. Say person 1 4.3XXXXX1 works for them but 4.3XXXXX2 dosent. but for person 2 4.3XXXXX1 dosent but 4.3XXXXX2 does. Maybe like a branch download on windowers website so people could go back to an older version maybe a patch before. If thats even possible. Just until everything can be sorted. And again thank you for your hard work.

I've been having an issue with crashing occasionally when I'm firing off a macro. Seems like it's when I hit my Fealty/Rampart macro, or any sudden gear change with a JA involved. Here's the link to the dump...

I have multiple friends crashing when hitting a macro wigh a script to fast together. Making the script file to a gearset fixes it. Hope this helps.

Seen a new update come threw,Figured i would try and see if i could log in w/o the delay issue,alas no avail,I did restart the game with always enable game pad option started,ofc i cant use all my characters because it tried to move all of them. but i no longer have the delay like before when i click on and off the game, either alt tab or switchmon,My guess is there is a delay because its losing focus of which one is active and its taking a bit before it recognizes it again, Im sure your all working hard at trying to fix everything,just figure i would give you a heads up.
This dosent affect the keyboard soon as i click back into the game i can use the keyboard its only affecting the controller

Don't tell people how to play. People are allowed to be frustrated. Everyone understands they are not doing it intentionally and aren't getting paid, volunteer work, etc. But that unfortunately does not alleviate the frustration. I never said, "Devs suck! Die in a fire!" So don't be a jerk and tell people, "play without Windower." been playing with it since it came out. Sorry but a few days ago us with Windows 7 were pretty much told to switch to Windows 10 or stfu, so I'm no mood to deal with people telling me how to play.

Not trolling. One of the other devs who was posting on this thread a few days ago answered someone who asked if the goal was to push people to use Windows 10 by saying, "Yes." etc, like pretty much, "duh, it's 2017, you should be on 10." I'm 44 years old, I don't "troll" or make things up to try and be clever on a forum.

Yes. Not sure what's so mind blowing about this. It's the most common operating system our player base uses (by far), and it's growing constantly. It was facing a critical issue that would mean half of our users would not be able to play anymore. See more details below.

Just quoting yourself, you asked if the intent was for the majority of people to be on Win10. The answer is yes. Why? Because any other answer does not make sense. Why on earth would our intent be for the majority of our user base to play on an older OS? That doesn't make sense.
Nowhere does it state that we are not trying our best to provide support to those who play on other OS (definitely 7, but we're honestly trying with even XP). Maybe you don't troll, but you definitely don't read either.
Edit: Also, I've been trying to fix an issue that's honestly just a minor annoyance on and off for the past 7 hours or so. And if you weren't aware, I play this game too. I have the issues you have, and I'm trying to fix them. So yeah, I get the frustration, I'm dealing with it too.

4.3.0.14 is completely ignoring Windows Key now. All binds using Windows key won't fire, and pressing the key brings up start menu.
Might already be aware, but I figured I'd bring it up just in case. I think I had 4.3.0.11 last night and it was mostly good for me.

Just read this as I noticed something too. I am actually having the opposite issue. If I bind zero (0) to a command with windows key, the windows key is always active, and tries to fire macros while I type even.

4.3.0.16 is giving me the same trouble, though I've noticed that it's not happening to the first character I log in. My second character has the issue. Strange.

Didnt even notice last night, but any key I bind with @ wont work properly after. Cant type 1-0 in chat box cause it fires binds. Anyone know if it's related to anything?
Windower v4.2's hooking uses a very old x86 library known as madchook. For legal reasons, we haven't been able to update madchook since the creator took it private but did have permission from him to use the old version. In order to get around this, Iryoku wrote a new x86 hooking library for Windower v5 (a work in progress).
As it happens, the Creators Update for Windows 10 (roll-out began yesterday) breaks the old hooking library. However, through collaboration with users who downloaded the Creators Update early, we discovered that Windower v5's hooking library had no problems with the Creators Update.
In the last three days, Iryoku heroically backported v5's hooking library to v4 and adjusted everything for it (bumping the version to 4.3). Two nights ago we got it to build and Arcon has been bug squashing for the last day.
There is also a pretty good chance that this Windower update will also fix the compatibility the issues people have had with Windows 8+ and Windower. This extends to the Launcher, where we've switched to software rendering and expect the white screen issues people were having to be fixed.
v4.3 and the new Launcher are both currently on -dev. If you are having problems with the Creators Update and want to log back in, we recommend at least temporarily using -dev. To do this, duplicate your entire Windower directory, then download this Launcher, replace your existing Windower.exe, and log in.
I will update this post when it goes live, but please try it on -dev or we're unlikely to find the last few bugs that are doubtlessly lurking.
