It's getting more and more hilarious with every new Matsui's post; basically every and each one of them says something along the line of: "Ffxi has ended but we will provide you with new content (???)". Im not bitter or anything, but, at least to me, it seems like stating two opposite things at once. Or perhaps i'm just confused.

tl,dr; "We don't have the means to make new expansions anymore, but we will keep working on the game because it still makes enough money to keep it alive. Please look forward to more random augment crap in new year. Thanks for playing. Kthxbye." -FFXI dev team.

With this adjustment, the Charm+ augment will be eliminated and Store TP+ will be replacing it. In the event your current gear already has a Charm+ augment, they will not be changed; however, please not that it is possible to overwrite this with other augments, but once replaced with a different augment it will no longer be possible to attain the Charm+ augment on Herculean gear.

Quote: Removing the daily restriction on Arrapago Remnants depends on the instance load situation. With the current difficulties for entering, it makes it hard to reduce the entry requirements. There are many players going into Salvage at the moment, and in February it'll be possible to further upgrade Mythic weapons, so we'd like to observe the situation more before making any adjustments.
Is it possible that Grekumah hinted at needing Salvage items to further upgrade? -.-
Or does he simply mean that more people will be entering Salvage to get their Mythics since there will be a new tier to make them useful?

Quote: Ever since we reduced the battlefield areas for Geas Fete in each of the Eschan zones in the December version update, we've been receiving feedback and monitoring the results of this change, and we have decided to make further adjustments.
In the next version update we will be reverting the size of these battlefields to the size prior to the December version update; however, we will be keeping the current battlefield size for the Geas Fete that occurs near Eschan Portal #9. This is being done to answer the feedback we've received stating that the current size is not an inconvenience and it's possible to escape from the battle area.

Quote: Allowing multiple cheers to be in effect at the same time is a very difficult request. The cheer effects act as a secondary system for bonuses after food effects, so it would be difficult to do a third or fourth bonus. The stats have been added with the premise that they cannot be stacked, and doing so would affect things from a balancing perspective, so we’d like to avoid adjusting the cheer effects system.

Quote: We can’t provide exact details other than letting you know that the hurdle to upgrade these weapons will be high. You’ll be able to complete the upgrade process by steadily working on your goal over the course of time. Also, not only will you be able to make progress through battle content, it will also be possible to use gil as a way to complete these upgrades.

Quote: There are no plans to allow the Destrier Beret to be added to the list of items that can be sent between characters on the same account.
The ability to send items and equipment obtained through inputting campaign codes depends on the capabilities of the item. As for the Chocobo Shirt, it can be used across all characters on the same account; however, an item with effects such as those on the Destrier Beret are limited to one character.

Quote: Voidwatch drops are placed into individual loot pools, and drops increase greatly with more participants.
Increasing the drop rates at this time will upset the balance between supply and demand, and it is possible this will result in balance issues.
As far as all Relic/Mythic/Empyrean/Ergon weapons go, we’ve reduced the hurdles for participation, but we have not increased the amount of progress gained per encounter. This is dependent on the policy related to these weapons.
On a side note, we have increased the chances of obtaining these items through key items and campaigns.

That seems exactly what they are gonna do, many people i know already started stockpiling rem currency, but no one really openly discusses it because it is the way this game works.

Why, why wont they just make
Chain Experience Bonus Campaign
Chain Capacity Point Bonus Campaign
Chain Monstrosity Bonus Campaign LOL
Alter Ego Expo
these as permanent already. If they want the PLUS to be the event, so be it. I see the campaigns as the other stuff, VW or NNI or whatever other variation on older content.
We should be able to get 2k+++ CP a kill anytime we want. Our alter egos almost need that buff to be useful, or if we could just summon again like WKR. Instead they create these artificial dead times for around a week. What if that's the week someone can spend more time playing, come on.

I think he just means that there will be an increased demand to make mythics once people see the final stats which will cause more people to enter salvage.
He mentions that the upgrade items will be dropped from battle content and will be purchasable but that it will take some time for non-aftermath holders to steadily upgrade their REM- so I don't think the items will be as simple as dynamis currency or alex (this would be a simple upgrade that wouldn't take long at all as he suggests). Also, he mentioned that current aftermath holders will be able to complete the upgrade with only a couple hours worth of work which also doesn't suggest it to be currency unless the aftermath upgrade path doesn't require the same battle content/items.
My feeling is that they will be introducing new items dropped from current endgame content similar to the 119 upgrade and possibly require some magian-type trials for non-aftermath REM

I saw it as they anticipate an increase in the desire to build R/E/M when the upgrade is introduced. 3x10.000 piece for relics, crapton of alexandrites for mythics and crapton of HP bayld for ergons, not sure about HMPs. Thats what they proably gonna do, considering they stated they want it to feel "fair" to those who already got an afterglow. Of course, this is just a speculation.
EDIT: they openly said they cant be more specific about the requirements because it "would affect people choices at this point of the game", which strongly suggests they are going for something we already can get AND purchase.

Could be a bit of both. Demand for the weapons should go up if BIS again across the board. As for upgrade, they've leaked quest related and AG will have quicker path. With AG requiring doing some of the same content over and over, odds are strong that the upgrade will require similar aspects. Considering the gil/time value of an AG purely, it would not be shocking to see the requirements for the upgrade to be a complete repeating, or as close to, the original requirements. Talk to npc, get a KI for the weapon, bring that npc either all the same dyna currency, or the eyepatch/books/30k alex, etc. I'm not sure where they would start empy at, pre plates or on plates. I could easily see AG bypassing all but the last stage, so perhaps just 5 marrows, 3 scoria (unless last stage is considered the 300 rocks). Again, empy is the painful formula. Forgot about ergon in this calculation...

Currency may be possible, another possibility is that the skill 269 is SO HARD to get that it's actually faster to AG the weason first then do the 1hr quest, so everyone end up stockpiling marrow/scoria.
Either way I see no disadvantage to stockpile currency now. Even if it's not used for skill 269 weapons we can still resell it since there will have increased demand later.

Hi.
Dev tracker is a kind of feed in Official Forum that highlight (in the left side bar) posts from development team to players demands, questions and sugestion. Given that those answers are given by someone who effectively works with the deveopment of this game, they can be considered as official and true.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/forum.php
The japanese side of OF has its own dev tracker, that normally is way more active and detailed than english side. If someone feel like translating it to bring the info, feel welcomed too.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/search.php?searchid=15480698
BG site has one specific topic just to publish and discuss those official answers, and i think ffxiah lacks something similar as not everyone here check BG or OF, so lots of details/dev opinion are missed. So, thats the point of this topic, anyone who see new info in dev tracker feeds, quote it here, and start a discussion if you feel like.
Starting now, a couple of new dev posts were released after march update annoucement. Here they are:
Trust changes
Quote: [dev1261] Alter Ego Adjustments
It will be possible to summon alter egos in the following content.
Walk of Echoes
Wanted battles
It will be possible to summon alter egos in the following mission battlefields.
Wings of the Goddess missions
When Wills Collide / Maiden of the Dusk
It will be possible to summon alter egos for the following quest battlefields.
Wings of the Goddess quests
Champion of the Dawn / The Dawn Also Rises / A Forbidden Reunion
-----
Dev answer to a sugestion to add new ways to obtain dusk type of alluvion skirmish stone.
Quote: Since dusk-type stones were just implemented, we'd like players to do alluvion skirmishes to obtain them, so there are no plans to add the ability to trade other items for these stones at the moment.
However, we'll look into increasing the amount in circulation and the means of obtaining them in some way in a future version update.
Monster rearing news:
Quote: [dev1262] Mog Garden Adjustments
Monster Rearing will undergo the following adjustments.
A monster's mood will no longer degrade from "beaming with pure contentment" after collecting items or interacting with the monster.
The collective moods of all creatures will generate auras of light or darkness that affects them all.
Light
When the number of creatures beaming with pure contentment is greater than that succumbing to darkness, all creatures’ contentment and mood are increased.
Darkness
When the number of creatures succumbing to darkness is greater than that beaming with pure contentment, all monsters' contentment and mood are decreased.
The following information will be displayed when entering your Mog Garden.
The number of days left on assistants’ contracts.
The current affinity of the Mog Garden.
Mog garden gathering points will undergo the following adjustments.
It will be possible to scrap any unwanted flotsam directly without receiving it in cases where the player’s inventory is full or he is otherwise unable to recover it.
Sugestion about blu traits having aditional tier info.
Quote: This is something that is difficult for us to address at the moment as we would have to send data each time you open the menu to see which tier you currently have. We're concerned about this largely affecting UI response time.
Similarly the same holds true for saving the data client-side as well. Since all of the trait data for this would have to be saved, it would consume large amounts of memory, which also makes this feature difficult to implement.
