When you stay up that late you're just supposed to sit in your lawn chair... take a short nap and then wake up all super groggy so you can call in and be all like yeah not coming in today /barf noise see you monday! /game on

In the general sense though, and as defined by you, people are not alone. WE have families and friends and strangers that want to *** slap you so hard for being a tool... there's always people around. very few people are truly alone.
In a sense of responsibility for your own health and future people still receive assistance on many different levels but you are ultimately responsible for your own actions and the results and consequences so I guess you could say that people are ultimately alone in that sense.
