I have a question about your 582 gun set.
ItemSet 247003

If Sigyn's are not available, are Manibozho Gloves R15 R.atk path not a very respectable if not, in certain situations, a better trade off? 30 R.atk + 10 R.acc + 10Agi.
So difference is 8 STR, 2 R.acc and 6 skill but you drop 18 R.atk + 2 AGI + 10% recycle.

I am new to this ranger business and can't help feel I'm missing something obvious. ( I was using Iuitl before, I'm assuming they are behind both of the other options?)

Just trying to have the best sets I can without Sigyn's

If you don't wanna farm Salvage2, Manibozho is a fine substitute. The STR+8 is Sigyn's primary edge over them since fSTR2 and all that.
Also the Recycle+10% really only counts for COR. Traits + Beret + Merits puts you well above the rate cap on RNG.

Would crit rate +2 on Iuitl hands, legs, and feet beat range attack +8/9 on each? Also, would snapshot +2 on hands beat ratt or crit aug?

If you're constantly getting capped Ratk from buffs/food, potentially; if not, more ratk might help your dps overall. I'd say you "should" be using only feet in post-shot, and since those fill most of your WS mods as well, adding crit+ probably won't outdo some of the benefits of more Racc/Ratk just off the WS figures alone (remember RNG's DPS is WS-heavy like SAM).
Snapshot is comparable to haste (and is only necessary when you initiate your shot, not when you fire), so if Haste+2% would beat Attk+8/9 on a melee job, getting Snapshot+2 for your preshot set beats most any other augment you could potentially get for RNG.

Feet are post shot and ws. They have 2% crit atm. gonna go try for ratt and some snapshot for hands.

hello everyone,

Dose anyone know how much delay is added to melee attacks when Velocity shot is on?

I have been toying with the idea of actually melee'in for tp in delve...crazy i know lol. But in the event that i actually get to use rng for delve my buffs end up being marchx2/minx2/hunters/fighters/chaos/rogues (embrava for boss). So y not put the buffs to good use. would probably be /war if i did try this.

Here is the proposed melee set :

Should cap haste with Ionis. All manibozho pieces are STR path, Dagger would be Acc or Str path, I havent made it yet.

It's slow+15%, but if you are using dagger for TP why would you even use velocity?

the main idea is to just pump out ws as fast as possible.

So if the delay was workable could have kept Vshot on for ws boost.

RNG is a WS reliant job so I don't see why meleeing with a dagger would ever be useful. You could always ask your BRDs to just give you pianissimo minuets if you're worried about wasting buffs. Even with the set posted you're pulling about 300DPS behind just shooting for TP...that comparison includes a WHM giving you haste for the melee set, and the still wasted marches in a full shooting set..so needless to say shooting is pretty heavily favored.

Assuming spreadsheets know what they're doing it seems keeping velocity shot up in melee mode is still advantageous for WS damage as you mentioned.

making a multi-hit melee build to just build tp as fast as possible would probabbly be better dps. i use it in voidwatch and stuff where i can be lazy and it really doesnt matter but shooting will probably always be better

Shooting for TP only comes close to matching meleeing when Double Shot is up, and even then, you're not likely to be on RNG unless it's Ceizak, where shooting for TP has serious drawbacks.

And don't use multi-hit weapons. Use an Adoulin dagger.

Yeah, should have specified but I use Aphotic and gear for multihit. Not using Kclub or Merckris. But yeah Ceizak would be the only time I think squeezing the most dps out on rng really matters but even shooting for TP ive won parses there using donderbuss, if it means any thing... although if im within 6' i usually get melee swings off, in my melee build so that contributes some tp between shots

The only point to melee tp on rng is to get tp insanely quicker than ranged so that your ws are spammed and give you an overall better combined DPS. The only way to do that is with k.club (and possibly ridill/merc) which are not viable in delve.

Stick to ranged attack with a decent snapshot build and demand those 4 minuets!

Did you reach this conclusion off spreadsheet or scoreboard/kparse from your own runs? I could very easily be wrong but from a spreadsheet perspective I can't seem to get what you're saying to be true at all.

Both, and while shooting does pull slightly ahead on paper with Double Shot up, it requires perfect timing playerside, which is hardly ever going to happen. You also have enemies like Mastop and Muyingwa who treat ranged damage as a different term than piercing damage, so shooting ends up significantly lowering your Last Stand damage.

for the DPS spreadsheets, how can the skill level on weapons be adjusted. It has RNGs club skill at 200, instead of 300.

Haven't looked at either on a spreadsheet, but they'll both be incredibly powerful(Jishnu's naturally, Namas with its bonus). Suffice it to day, Apex is likely usurped in all aspects.

Yoichi probably not, what about Echidna's Bow? Wouldn't that with JR beat out Last Stand with the best possible gun? Curious :x I have 99 Annihilator and just deciding either to get Echidna's Bow and unlock JR or buy a Donderbuss.
