Power Rangers: A Guide to Pewing

Kheper body is inexpensive and pretty easy to get Never seen a t. body :| and nopony does Legion or P-watcher anymore. ;;
That sucks. I literally have like 5 of them I've dboxed myself from doing provenance. I know that doesn't ease the pain, but at least provenance is extremely easy now with delve weapons. Mobs die really fast. You may have just eased my fears of never getting myrmex...slightly...

So I just got a R.att +5 augment on an Arete Del Sol earring, is this useful for anything?

Hey, awesome guide, thanks for the guidance :D
I was wondering what kind of Coronach/Barrage sets all RNGs out there doing Muyingwa are using. Sticking to full RAcc on Barrage? No experience yet with it but I'd like to be prepared if necessary to have an alternate Barrage set for it. As for Coronach, I think I read somewhere (hopefully?) in the thread that both relic WSs have an innate racc bonus, but should there be any sacrifices made or will a standard Coronach set (minus Chocolate mask, sosad) be good enough to land Coronach reliably on it?

I've had 0 issues landing coronach in optimal gear so don't worry about it. I had indi-precision, hunter's, prelude x2, though. For barrage, I'd use full accuracy gear.
Edit: I suppose if you have THF doing feint you could barrage in regular gear after that.

That's good to know about Coronach. And Barrage as well. Thanks for the info!

That's one of the dumbest sets of questions I've heard in a long time.
No offense.

If you're referring to mine I suppose so yeah, considering I am but a bandwagon RNG, and all the parses I've looked at hint at uncapped racc on Muyingwa. Then again, Sharpshot bonus is put (although arbitrarily) at 100 racc right at the start of this guide, which is quite a substantial boost. Maybe I should apologize for wanting to clarify something instead of realizing midrun that the sets I'm using are detrimental to my damage output and contribution to the alliance. Next time I'll make sure to not inform myself on a matter where I have 0 experience so I can be a burden on my alliance. Sorry for disturbing you! :)
Small edit: Apparently there's no mention of 100 racc boost on Sharpshot at the start of this guide, though I'm sure to have read it mentioned somewhere before. Still, following the description, point is still valid.
By Psycosocial 2013-06-13 00:04:29
Whatever the r.acc boost is, it still makes me want to choke out a puppy when WS/Barrage misses with Sharpshot active -_-

Finding it difficult to figure out what is my current optimal set for Namas Arrow.
My current set is:
ItemSet 305336
str57 agi71 ratk63
In terms of ease of gear to get, I'm thinking of swapping it over to:
ItemSet 305335
Mani. Brais - ratk15/racc10/agi10 path.
str62 agi65 ratk64
Haven't got Chocaliztli Mask so didn't include that in the set. I know I also need 2x Pyrosoul rings and 2x Vulcan Pearl's to max out those slots. Just concentrating on my head/body/hands/legs/feet slots to begin with.
Any help with optimising this is greatly appreciated.

You posted the same set twice, I think? Going by your numbers however, 5 str should easily beat 6 agi, though I'm not sure exactly what your gear swaps were.
Strangely enough, I've begun to believe that manibozho brais with STR augment are actually better than AGI augment for namas and possibly even coronach (if fSTR2 is not capped). 10 STR vs 10 RA (-5 because 10 STR will give +5 RA) and 10 AGI. For coronach it's not much of a difference because STR is not a WS mod, but I'm like 95% sure that the STR path would be better for namas.

Thanks for pointing that out. I've adjusted it. The change was from thaumas legs/feet to mani legs/sigyn feet.
Interesting info on the str path for namas. No real way to know apart from getting them and testing I suspect?

Can just plug them into my spreadsheet if you want. Like I said though, 99% certain STR path is better for namas.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Delve Bow? (Speleogen Bow)
I'm considering getting one for my RNG since I am nowhere close to, nor do I have a desire to, obtain a Yoichi for myself.
What are the augment paths on the thing? I haven't been able to find much information on it yet. And also, how well do you all think Apex Arrow would perform with Speleogen Bow?

Maybe their sets for it are just better, but I've seen better numbers from sidewinder than Apex from folks using Splooge Bow.

Interesting! I've a decent Sidewinder set. And it's good to know I shouldn't waste merits on getting Apex Arrow beyond just 1 merit.

I don't know what it's like on your server but on mine, Echanid's is getting to be a pretty realistic option for those who want something strong that's easy to obtain. The cost of mats on my server right now is around 22mil and that's likely to drop down to 15 or so in the next couple of weeks due to Gabbrath Horn flooding. If you think about the cost/opportunity cost of making and upgrading your Delve bow, Echanid's is actually pretty affordable and much better ((30000plasm/2500 + 5980/50) * 1.7m/12 = ~18.5mil to buy and max Delve bow).

Sidewinder beats apex in almost every situation. If accuracy is an issue then apex works well, though I'd probably use last stand in that case (or coronach/namas if available).
Refulgent is only good at high TP.

Sadly, on Shiva, Tojil clears are relegated to JP ONRY!!! I haven't heard of a NA group clearing it yet. So my best bet is to just get Splooge Bow and slowly work it to max. Now unless I suddenly master Kanji......yeah, it ain't happening.
By fractalvoid 2013-06-25 09:48:16
don't need the clear to buy mats and have someone synth the bow for you. and he displayed it'd be cheaper (and likely better) than upgrading the plasm bow

I currently have a Rank 5 (RAtk. Path) Speleogen Bow and it is an impressive bow. I'm upgrading it slowly and hopefully I can do more Delve Plasm farming so I can max it. I'm liking it a lot more than my "old" Vision Bow.
As for Apex Arrow, it's a very good WS in my opinion, and it's currently at level 3 merits. But, I've seen Last Stand do better at Lv3 than Apex Arrow has at the same level, and I've just maxed Last Stand today.
Honestly, I prefer bows and crossbows more than guns, I find it more romantic and classical in the medieval sense. I hope that I'll get Illapa some day now that I have all 6 Delve NM key items now to accsss the Delve bosses. That or work on Gastrophetes and hope SE doesn't disappoint on the R/E/M update for it. I have yet to see Echidna or Donderbuss appear on Bismarck or its synth materials. I'm not sure why I don't see them up. That crazy WHM/PLD club and DRK/RUN/PLD Great Sword are up though.

Last stand is 'much' more powerful than apex. It's pretty close to sidewinder, 4.4 ftp vs 5.0, but better mods. The only thing currently holding gun back is base damage, which will be resolved on July 9th. I'm still making echidna's bow regardless though.

Satabi has Echidna's bow. While it is powerful, i see them as toys mostly. They are useful for the NMs leading up to the boss, but no way in hell can you actually use them on bosses and not take hate. As helel said, once they update ammo and REM, any contest will be over. I am looking forward to the REM update more and more, even though i'm investing more and more time/plasm into the new boss weapons.
They still haven't released info on the REMs, so i'm assuming it will be another 6+months. If my 'main' was ranger, i suppose i'd go out and get these new toys. Now that everyone can melee burn tojil/shark +5nms on same run, ranger is less and less useful though. I liked pulling it out to get first wins, i enjoy new strategies and such....now its back to melee zerg (that didn't take long lol).
Overall, I think ranger setups are less reliant on stuns, which will allow groups who can't stun to get clears much easier (if you call finding 6 rangers easier).
To give a 'rough' estimation of damage (i'm sure math people could do better), on a shark run, during Jagil kill, my 99anni ranger was averaging 4700 coronach and the new bow was averaging 6k sidewinders.

For all the years since I've started leveling RNG, I've always found it odd that the guns had less damage than the bow at times, but the bullets had incredibly high damage. For example, good 'ol cannon shell or Adaman Bullets nowadays. Then, you look at Speleogen Bow's damage and compare it to something like Donderbuss, Surefire Arquebuss and Annihilator/Armageddon, it's really weird looking at it. I am looking forward to the next update...
And, speaking of update, if R/E/M update improvements several months from now are impressive, I may go upgrade Gastrophetes based on your opinion in the OP post. I can't wait to see how Armageddon and Gandiva get improved upon as well. As usual, like you said, hate/enmity is going to be an issue. I may end up using Novia Earring for WS or something. Lol.
Oh, one more thing: Would this be alright for precast and postcast on ranged attack?
Precast:
ItemSet 305854
Postcast:
ItemSet 305855
(Manibohzo Body has Ranged Attack path.)
And, my current /ra macro: (I'll switch to Spellcast once I get the Manibohzo hands.)
Code
/equip head "Sylvan Gapette"
/equip waist "Impulse Belt"
/ra <t>
/wait 2
/equip head "Scout's Beret +2"
/equip waist "Buccaneer's Belt"
I'm using Speleogen Bow for now.
A little note, I'm not in any position or am able to get any other sort of exotic gear like "Nahtirah Trousers" since I have no dedicated group or LS to do Voidwatch NMs or Delve bosses. That and I'm still hoping I could get something like "Libeccio Mantle", but my luck is terrible with it, so having to do with "Moondoe Mantle" for now.
