Final Fantasy - The Best and Worst?
Cerberus.Kylos said: » So I guess these special abilities are completely trounced by the other job classes? The fact that I did read someone else say that Calculator is OP in this thread, Calculator cannot be included as one of the weakest jobs. Mime and Animist sound really bad, would anyone disagree and feel any other class is just as weak, or weaker?
Well, basic Onion Knight, but that's questionable since when fully upgraded it's the most op.

I hated Mime.. most of the time I'd be attacking thin air. lol (FFT Mime that is)

Yea anything that can be overpowered, even eventually with a lot of work, cannot be considered as one of the weakest jobs. If we're talking FFT Onion Knight, it has the highest stat growth of all jobs and is capable of equipping any item in the game, making it incredibly OP. Its drawback is that it can't use any abilities, but with proper gear choices, it wouldn't matter. The only job that outshines it is Dark Knight, but that's because it's borked OP, giving normal units Thunder God Cid tier abilities.
Ok added the worst jobs. Will add the next question in a lil bit.

The exploration of 'heroism', shown through the conflicting ideologies of Ramza and Delita, is something that I haven't seen done as well in any other game. Suikoden 2 The terrible CT for Calculator ruined it for me, and I'm terrible at math and don't really pay attention to that kind of thing. I'd end up casting Holy on my entire party, lol.
Tactics was actually one of my favorites. The story was great, the job system was awesome, and m'*** T.G. Cid! I just loved the lore of the Zodiac Braves, too. That's one of XII's redeeming qualities. Offline

The players of Final Fantasy games have killed monsters millions of times over, but there are certain, very elusive monsters who rarely show up to surprise us. As it is difficult to determine the absolute rarest fight ever, I would like to see a list of very rare fights from any FF. Some monsters like the dragons in FFIII, and the flan princess from FFIV are undoubtedly very rare so they will be automatically put in there. Can you name more? Voluptuous Vilma I'd say
Bismarck.Dracondria said: » Voluptuous Vilma I'd say I fought that a few months ago. It is a very rare sight and have only seen it in person once. Probably more common now that no one is actively in those areas but when they were still relevant it was pretty much non-existant
Taisaijin!
His spawn conditions are by far, one of the most unique I've seen. Same with Vilma, too. Yep. Also Defoliate Leshy would be in the same boat. It is probably up right now on at least one server. I can't see anybody actively going out and killing Colorful Leshy. Back in the day it would always get killed because people used to do stuff in Lufaise, like Megalo and Padfoot.
That Apkallu NM on the boat is probably the most rare NM in XI but I think it's bugged so it won't show up or something.
Bismarck.Dracondria said: » That Apkallu NM on the boat is probably the most rare NM in XI but I think it's bugged so it won't show up or something. "Doesn't like being alone." Bismarck.Dracondria said: » That Apkallu NM on the boat is probably the most rare NM in XI but I think it's bugged so it won't show up or something. They fixed that lately. It spawns much often now. At that point in time though, it was probably the rarest NM in FFXI. Not sure whether to include Argus in this list, because there are NMs that take longer to spawn, but it shares a timer. I still remember the days of camping and getting sick of looking at those cave walls. What about other games? Any other super rare fights with stupid conditions? Loooooooooooooooooooooooots of people have killed Argus though
Bismarck.Dracondria said: » Loooooooooooooooooooooooots of people have killed Argus though Yea true, just because the reward was so good. I seem to recall a battle in one of the early Final Fantasy where the biggest NM in the game would only spawn in a certain area and it was extremely rare. Anyone remember that one? How did this go six pages without referencing this:
Anyway: - The best game: "Best" is pretty subjective, but of the non-XI titles I probably enjoyed IV the most - The best lead character: Cecil - The best support character: Auron - The most evil villain: How is everyone not answering Exdeath here - The game with the best music: IV wins this, until OCRemix gets into the mix, and then it's VII in a landslide - The game with the best battle and level system: VI - The greatest special ability: VII's Limit Breaks just felt stronger and more unique to me - The hardest boss fight ever: Ruby Weapon, I guess, but FF bosses always felt weak compared to some of the Tales games' Sword Dancer nonsense - The rarest item ever: Goddamn Pink Tail - The most useful magic spell ever: Merton in VI. Equip Flame Shields and Economizers and it's off the races - The best mini-game: Triple Triad and it's not even close Ah yes, Warmech. 1/64 chance of spawning on the bridge in the original Final Fantasy game. Also super powerful.
This is another rare fight. One that was never confirmed for five years.
YouTube Video Placeholder And this is another which the majority of players will have never seen.
