NNI BST
has anyone tested if all BST pt is efficient enough for NNI yet?
I don't know but a decently geared BST in a decently geared party would probably work as a DD in NNI just fine.
I don't see why not
I took a BST buyer in that had a 95 guttler and the 2-4 axe and he was destroying mobs. Just make sure they are careful not to have pets attack on do not destroy gear floors as you can't control what the pet fights and we did loose time because of that once.

Pet would only start fighting a gear if it was close enough and got hit by Anti-gravity(Rail Cannon to maybe, can't remember if it's single target or cone), they don't auto-protect like Avatars. It should be fine to still have the pet attack the designated mobs for the floor. If the pet wasn't in fight mode, and didn't get hit by the AoE, that bst had to have just used fight on the gear for it to fight it at all. Unless pets work different in there somehow? Honestly never brought Bst to any Nzyul thing. Cerberus.Diabolique said: » Ragnarok.Fasaga said: » I took a BST buyer in that had a 95 guttler and the 2-4 axe and he was destroying mobs. May have been an accident if he uses <stnpc> for fight or something though, and would definitely be sort of an embarrassing thing to have to admit to.
Always that possibility of AoE while in fight mode though. Also with no AoE's, if the bst had aggro from the gear, and pet was in fight mode, if the bst used snarl it would switch right to the pet. Probably is best to just not use fight at all during those floors to avoid this though(as you said). Kill speed may be a little lower, but losing time in that event of all things from killing a gear would be far worse. edit: Though, with the above, the Bst could just heel the pet and not have to worry about it ever attacking the gear again... bst pets wont attack at all unless in fight mode first. So as long the bst dont sick pet on mob on a dont destroy floor then will eb no prob. they only turn their attacks when hit by another mob while already fighting.
Also people get confused by all these half *** perle bst who only leveled to farm dynamis instead of real bst who knwo how play the job and took the time to gear it right for both dmg and for pet use. BST works just fine in NNI. I BST it up with my static weekly. Just a few tips that will help you in there:
1) Familiar with Augmented Relic +2 on first floor goes a long way. (Reset your SP while the SCH's reset theirs.) 2) Always be mindful of "Do not destroy gears" floors. Pets will eat gears up quickly. 3) Gear your BST up for Master > Pet Damage dealing capability w/ Moepapa's Stone being the exception. Full on DD gear. 4) Always use Run Wild on your final boss, or immediately after 5 minute remaining timer is issued. 5) Tiger or Hippo pets are recommended. Adaman pets hit hard and fast, but go down quickly to casting mobs and mobs prone to AoEing. Giant Pugil pets also hit hard, but it's WSes are weak. 6) Pets make great decoys on lamp floors. Toss them at a mob that's near a lamp, then heel. Activating the lamp will make the mob de-aggro and lose hate. Few other things like Skadi's Feet/Powder Boots also help, but is not needed. |
