I did pick up some new gear choices though, I'm pretty out of date with anything endgame related since the last two years.
I've pretty much 100% decided at this point that I would be going with my outside of the box strategy, if only my RDM was ready.
I also think Upbeat is wrong about not having to be concerned about MP, you can never have too much MP.

As someone who can say he seen and been through much, this guy seriously has to be on the top all time five D*cks in FFXI. He is the puss on the galkas dirty foot.
I had the glory to start on odin where 3/200 orignal players remain.
I had the glory of being part of remora and befriending "APATHY" LS and SINUS, the only LS ever even mentioned for beating AV by playonline.
I had the glory to be part of Siren server where we ere the only undefeated besieged server of all. Until a week after I left.
I had the glory on Unicorn, to make a great SCNM LS and good friends.
I had the glory to be on Birmark, yes where this total weirdo hangs out. But make wonderful friends and be part of many peoples trophy prizes. "items" I liked this servermuch I went back a second time.
On leviathan server, This is the party house server. Lots of shouts, and help in whatever you do. The party never ends. Apoc was born here.
Rag is the most friendly and laid back server. For newbies, I recommend this server or returning players. You will find plenty of people to help you. Almace and Rag were born here.
And through it all I still have many friends server wide.
Mr. strange, upgrade your almace already. I would show mine off but ffxi doesn't seem to.
And my best friends on Bismark is only 2 weeks away from a blu mythric.
Every server has a different atmosphere and offers a different play style to whom plays the game. Their are a few servers I have not yet been on, But I am making my rounds.
I myself could have one if I had salvage wins and captain rank. Already have more than enoygh alex. Enough for 1.5 for that matter.
And with the blinker glitch nerfed and dyna money falling I can buy 5-6 more relics

If you have buffs active does Absorb-Attri allow you to absorb and overwrite your buffs? For example if you had Protect III could you absorb Protect V, or in the case of Regen would you be able to absorb/overwrite with Regen V?
Also if a SCH uses Light Arts and gets an enhanced Regen effect and you absorb it do you get the enhanced bonus for it as well?

Been doing some related digging about during some free time.
Man this game is so different without gear swaps. I think it would be an interesting change to make to the whole game when the new expansion comes out. So much more gear would make sense.

Removing gearswaps would very severely affect the longevity of the game. One of the major factors behind XI's longevity is the fact that a player needs 50-80 pieces of gear to flesh out a job. If gearswapping was disabled, there would inevitably be 1-2 "Best sets." (which would probably share a lot of gear between them).
Players would only need to get 10-15 pieces of gear, and then have a maxed job. This is a problem I ran into playing Tera. There were ~8 slots, you filled those, and then ran the exact same instances hundreds of times in hopes of upgrading that gear.
Gearswapping is central to both the unique flavor and longevity of FFXI.

I honestly still want to know, why no enchantment items? It's something you can obtain from the auction house and farm legit in the game. I can understand no usage of poison pots or echo drops or food, but enchantment items are meant for things like this, to me.
