where'd you leave windower (since for me it likes to stay in the damn firefox folder, I typically move it to program files (x86), not sure if that would change anything. Just reinstalled playonline.... still doesnt work.
Im just going to try to attempt this tomorrow.... it shouldn't be a pol/xi issue, go ahead and disable everything you can think of, even go offline if you need/want to, then try to run.
Did you play with any video drivers since you last started pol up? or do you have different settings for launcher and pol in your profile? I know, I just thought I would rule it out. As for my video drivers, i believe they were up to date back then when I played on this computer.
whatcha mean different settings? video card managers let one have different settings for different programs.
as for the other settings: windower settings, xi's config settings, make sure using the right language. check your device manager a moment and make sure all your devices are installed. All drivers are installed, and i've configured the video card manager to allow everything for windower/playonline.
As for settings I have it all setup properaly, inported settings using the gui and have the language set right. I also installed all windows updates just incase. Still no go :/ Long shot but do you have an infra red receiver or bluetooth or anything like that on your pc? If so try disabling them, I know my IR receiver used to cause alot of problems with windower.
I'm pretty much out of ideas without looking, on monday afternoon (est) I'll be online, can teamviewer in and take a look if you want.

I feel like it's just getting stuck when loading, in processes the memory used stays the same which to me suggests it is frozen or stuck......

FIXED! It was my antivirus. If you're having the same issue as me and have comodo installed, unistall it.

I just use Microsoft Security Essentials for AV. (it likes to flag keygens though...) I have noticed some programs like to mess with XI in very odd ways, like on my computer I use virtualbox no problem, on my gf's pc it caused severe lag, unplayable lag, it was due to the way it latches on the network card, sad part is that it wasn't even running and it still did it... Don't understand why now all of a sudden there's a problem when it comes to windower idk maybe an issue with an update or something, maybe you could contact the comodo support and report a bug.
edit: I liked the prospect of using their DNS but I had to stop because my school had this odd way of authentication (with a web redirect) and that didn't work with a custom dns. I also didn't like that I couldn't just select programs from running processes to block, and had to add everything manually, I stopped using it altogether when I realized I could just edit my hosts file to block adobe from calling home. |
