Was feeling pretty good about my progress on blu lately (80 Almace, str shamshir +2, boatloads of new spells) and then I got to a spell named "Reaving Wind" and realized I'd have to fight "Amphipteres" and it made me "wish I had enough beer to deal with that".

LOL. I haven't gotten around to Reaving Wind yet either. You dealt with Almace/STR Shikargar, you can deal with Amphitpteres =P

I wonder how well I can do it this method. BLU/WAR on those NMs shouldnt be too bad but I liked having /NIN as a security blanket when Ocultation was down and one of the 3 Gigas NMs decided to go on a hit streak.

BLU/WAR covers what reds?

Sword
Staff?
What else?

@Cantontai

Find people who need amhuluk's drops and spam it. Piss easy.

@Krylon

A good hybrid haste/eva build will cap u easily on those gigas, between occultation and maybe zephyr mantle you should have blink up 100% easily.

Blu/War should cover (assuming a few staff merits)..

Sword (blu native)
Club (blu native)
Staff
Polearm

The hardest part is getting the *** things to land! The one near Zvahl Baileys [S] is the only one I managed to get down.

Started farming pop sets on BLU/WAR....so much better lol. I am able to get 3/3 KIs in about 45-60 Min easy now - less if I get lucky on/first WS proc.

Almace Progress Update:

11/50 Briareus Helm

Killed a Bria solo this time ;) Went a lot smoother than I expected but that is probably because I didn't get a 1111 Merc Strike....Go Go BLU Treasure Hunter!

Not sure what the question is referring to, but it's best in slot for physical spells.

I can be completely mistaken here but when I mathed it out, it seemed that for the majority of cases Zaffre Cape wasn't worth it (for skill alone) and should use just Tath/Head+2/Body/Legs+2 for skill.

If I am proven wrong, this would be great.

Like I've said before, it's best in slot but only slightly. Talking <1%~2% depending on the spell. It's more apparent when you factor in the skill/str gloves.

I'd be really happy if I could replace all my extra back pieces. Is it better vs all levels of mobs?

How many back pieces do you guys carry currently(in satchel or otherwise?

These calculations are against very high level monsters, but the usefulness shouldn't wear off on any sort of "end game" content as blue magic attack is never really going to be capped on anything above lv 60, and the extra possible tier won't be devalued by 2STR/DEX. The cape is nice not only because it's good for damage, but it also serves the purpose of a debuff acc back piece/stonskin/barrier piece. I only carry Zaffre, Atheling, Umbra, Hexerei, Shadow, and Blithe.

Oooh, how did I not notice those?! I stand corrected. I thought you meant the Symbios Gloves or something.

Shame they aren't really attainable but still worth considering!

Killed Cuelebre solo BLU/RDM after learning Absolute Terror. Not a difficult NM really, but first one I've solod as BLU so was pretty fun. Anyone know where the Qutrub camp in Aby Tahrongi is?

After many attempts/times entering Dynamis - Xarc, I have FINALLY learned Quadrastrike.

Was this spell a pain in the *** for anyone else? I haven't had much trouble with learning the higher end spells after hitting 75-80~ ish but this one just drove me nuts.

Almace Progress:

26/50 Briareus. Just over 50% done with this leg!

I don't wanna jynx myself but...does Sobek go this fast? xD
Feel like I just started Bria and I'm already halfway done...and I haven't even gotten 2 on every pop (been pretty balanced between 2 helm 1 helm).
