Where are the ambuscade vouchers from? They're listed on BGWiki as from Gallantry yet they're not part of any form of rewards on my end?
They were only available in September for Hallmarks and October for Gallantry. BG-Wiki doesn't say this, but you can notice there's a month gap in gear between August and October. The slips will probably come back around for another month soon. Probably in March (Hallmarks) and April (Gallantry) as there are only two sets left (in theory) available from Ambuscade.
I'd have to find the thing, but on the official forums not too long ago they mentioned something about them coming back after the December update. Not sure if permanent or not, but that's what the topic was about, so never know.
Kind of hope so, there's a couple months I missed and seeing how dead Siren is, its kinda hard to get better than escha t1 gear solo. Even if you were able to get abjurations, the cursed gear is either never in stock or 2-4 mil for a NQ, so ambuscade gear is pretty nice then, especially all that acc
Edit: ok, it seems it'll be permanent

Speaking of extremely low population / people interested in doing things, for someone who has a mix of ambuscade, taeon and rawhide, how difficult would something like an escha zi'tah t2 be, like Nosoi? Or a unm like Ayapec (really don't want to pay almost 200k to maybe be able to kill it...)?
Best geared I've got, in order, would be Pup (tank anything that doesn't spam magic/doom, just time limits are an issue), thf, blu. I tried Nosoi as pup a couple of months ago and the poison DoT outweighed the automaton regen, so that kinda sucked and I figured since Kintoki can tank things far better than my trusts (and even some players lol), that trusts would do worse.
I also tried soloing some of the easier sounding Reisenjima t1s recently after watching others do so, but my terrible luck struck again and they went crazy on me (super smooth when watching others / videos...), as in, Belphegor preferring aga and ja spells for me, compared to his single target chainspell when watching others :/

Will the next version update change the ambuscade though? I don't mind grinding some extra if I can spend the points on other gear otherwise I'll just get the full 'Thaumas' +1 and call it a day.

Yes, and points reset too. After you have 14,500 points for the current months +1 set, you can stop doing ambuscade. Though, it's still one of the best ways to farm gil these days.

I'd suggest that you continue doing Ambuscade until you have 20,000 Hallmarks and 10,000 Gallantry. That will allow you to fully complete 2 capes, including dye, and an additional cape without dye. There is absolutely no substitute to Ambuscade capes anymore, and building 3 a month is how you keep your jobs up-to-date and viable.
Each cape costs 500 Hallmarks, so you will need to have a bit more than 20k depending on how many you want to purchase. You can buy 1 cape per job per month.
Ambuscade is also quite a nice way to make money, with riftcinders, heavy metal plates, and high purity bayld being some excellent choices. So, if you're done with your capes for the month but are still helping others get their points, you can still make quite a nice amount of money.

Is this luck vorseal missing something in the requirement?

Maybe I could 3 step Radiance on NIN if I farm 3k TP on mobs around and let Trust buff me to put me at delay cap?
On NIN I get lotsa shadows, as long as I manage to keep those up his attacks won't hit me and hence won't absorb any buffs.
Not sure how feasible it is to keep shadows up when he has Hundred Fists going though =/ Tried this fight a lot yesterday, spent over 60k Accolades on it I think.
Tried different things, all on me main NIN. Doubt anybody cares since lolmob but here's my report
In the end I settled for this setup:
Job: NIN/DNC
Trusts: Mumor, Qultada, Joachim, Koru-Moru, Mihli Aliapoh
SelfBuffs: no food, Yonin, STP
Comments:
/DNC is for when he uses that long-time silence AoE move. Sometimes it didn't stick on mages, other times it did. When it does it lasts long time and I needed means to remove silence on myself to recast shadows
NIN debuffs: I tried Aisha, Yurin, Hojo, Jubaku, Kurayami. Aisha and Yurin didn't matter much, Hojo/Jub/Kura seemed to make quite the difference. For some reason Koru-Moru didn't use Para2/Slow2/Blind2 or was very low priority on them. Maybe I should've used Arciela2 or King of Hearts, I dunno. Either way these debuffs were making my shadows last much longer. Less shadows to recast => more damage/skillchains
Trust tank: Tried August and Gessho, but in the end they were hardly doing anything for me. I was getting hate after a couple of WSs anyway. Guess it's because enmity scaling with ilevel and 122 being low etc
5 step Radiance (Shun > Ten > Kamu > Shun > Shun) wasn't enough to kill. I tried 4 step and 3 step too but it was hardly making such a huge difference. MB Raiton: Ni for ~4k. To be able to multistep I had to keep Qultada at distance, use Kupipi instead of Mihli and no Mumor (so no stun, no hastesamba etc). In the end I just resorted to spamming WSs
For some reason with my setup despite my Heishi Shorinken, Shun was producing better wsavg (13k) than Ten (11k)
And that's it, was pretty easy, but I had to keep attention on shadows during Hundred Fists. Without shadows I could die very fast (and trust me I did, a lot lol)
Regardless thanks to Calinari for the info provided! Got my Zoar NQ and mats for +1 :D

Guess it's because enmity scaling with ilevel and 122 being low etc Unity mobs like most non-adolin/new zones mobs are really lvl 99 with beefed up stats, Wide Scan packet tells even NM levels... Guess its was SE's way of fixing level correction but doesn't let anyone tank on them.

You sure? I might be wrong but I don't remember having so many issues on higher level UNMs with trusts.
Maybe I'm thinking about something else...

No, that's definitely true. Level correction is zone dependent, not event dependent.

I'm misunderstanding something here.
Chiaia said that UNM mobs are all level 99 like in Adoulin zones.
You're saying it doesn't have to do with UNM, but with the zone you pop the UNM, and since there still is level correction in old zones... there is level correction in UNMs for those zones?
Someone give me a coffee please D:

Someone give me a coffee please D: Unlike Adolin zones! Adolin/Escha they are above level 99 because SE elimated level correction starting with SoA zones and any newer zones they made since.
Yes, old zones have level correction still. SE's way around this when they added new content to these zones was to cap the NMs at level 99 but give them buffed up stats. Examples: HTBF, Unity, etc

Going off of this, what is the point of level correction (besides making me do ***magical damage in old zones compared to Adoulin/Escha)?
Would it be something that SE could remove and it would make our HTMBs easier?
Just curious.

HTMBs are the same as unity in terms of how they scaled their strength.

I got that part.
I'm just wondering what exactly level correction is for. I'm curious as to why SE decided to level cap zones and then just give the NMs crazy stats.

The zones aren't level capped. It's just an older way of scaling difficulty by lowering your damage potential versus things higher than you. Unity/HTMBs, etc are just the unfortunate consequence of them not wanting to incur level correction on us while also not wanting to nerf older content (as irrelevant as it may be) by removing the zone's level correction.

What in the... So i decided to try this game out again after years of not touching it. What happened to the controls? I remember just plugging in an xbox controller and it just working. Why is this an utter nightmare all of a sudden? Trying to use an Elite controller

I believe you will have to set up the controller via the FFXI Config tool, if I recall correctly. Run that before launching Playonline and you should be able to set the inputs.
But if you are meaning that you were trying to do that and it is not recognizing the controller, I am unsure. I still use a Xbox360 controller myself, and I have heard that Xbox One controllers sometimes have compatibility issues with some games.

So has SE not mentioned anything at all yet about the New Year's campaign? Normally they have said something by now, no?
They normally fire it off on midnight of New Years Eve.
It's the year of the Chicken, so I am assuming that new chocobo suit will come from that event.

They've had information about the campaign (campaigns, it changes every week the whole month) out for a week or 2 now. As far as any events that might be happening usually they'd have information about that out by now also so maybe there isn't one this year?
Question:
Just farmed multiple sets of Telchine that I need to optimize for SCH and GEO, looks like duskdim are my only choice as far as SCH enhancing duration augments go. Is there a consistent way to farm these? In the 11ish runs for Telchine I only ended up w/ 3-4 of them, majority of others have been Leaf- oriented. They also don't pop up on the AH often and when they do they're quite expensive considering my luck with augmetns so far.
Any tips for augmenting Telchine for enhancing duration would be greatly appreciated, Thank you!

The only thing i can think is waiting campaign for easier rank up, and to try to convince more people to spam with you alluvion skirmish then ask to buy their stones.
The eudeamon item seems to favor a type of stone but not the color, so try either ring or cape.

New year's events aren't a "campaign"- and as far as I can remember, they never give information on them ahead of time.

How accurate has this panned out? I know the bonuses are very obvious, but as far as the stone output goes, how much of an advantage is given? Say, wanting to aim for tip style, bg-wiki says to use shield item.

It's pretty significant. I was raking in orb stones off sash pops when farming for my GEO's Telchine set.

Any idea what Discoid is magically?
Doing trials on White Mage for Yagrush and even in pretty awesome dt, left me with 33 hp, popped Sacro for the next one which did 0 but that only lasts a minute. Figured would try /run to mitigate further.

What was your strategy for farming stones specifically? non-Yorcia zones? Even when I was able to clear 6+ floors dboxing i didn't end up w/ that many stones yet alone the ones I actually needed. I'm using eudamon ring to boost dim-type stones. I guess having more people there for loot would help increase the chances of getting the stones I actually need/want.

Done a LOT of runs, and have seen the most dusk dims/orbs on Cape pops. Ring seems to favor leaf more.
