I still use RR/GH/Apoc. If you can't TA, SA, or bully, you won't be using MS. I'm always tank in Abyssea as THF though.
ahh yea i know it should always be stacked lol. just didnt know if the str in VV would be worth using it over other options

Any thoughts on that Alluh Jambiya business for offhand? higher delay is kinda crap, but has anyone tried?

STR thokcha is better. it has more STR and more attk, less delay. the aluh might be nice once in a while if you land the crit, but i tried it out and it didnt seem to be better. the only good part about it is if you're /dnc in dyna, you can get that coveted 5 TP per hit in dyna which makes it nice, but you'd have to not use boomerang and suppanomimi in order to get 5tp/hit
but for the most part. Just stick with Thokcha.

i was looking at some of the new gear, namely the khepri stuff, and some of it looks pretty damn nice to replace some current mercy gear.
ive been aiming for this set, just missing toci's whirlwind and vulcan pearls:
this set looks better tho, and the khepri gear looks sexy

Depends on if they can be augmented to benefit Mercy Stroke. Otherwise, they're sidegrades. (Slightly weaker at that.)

Those legs look like an upgrade regardless 12DEX 10Attack v 3DA. Also if that's a stacked set witch is what it looks like then Athos's Tabard should win with +5% crit hit dmg and +2DEX. Other than that I agree with Tikal. You can't rly put some gear in until you know what possible augments are attainable.

Legs I can definitely see, but body/head look like straight downgrades at a glance pending Khepri augments (assuming you have a good Heca +1 augment). Could be underestimating the additional DEX on the head I guess.

but thanks all for the info. mainly why i asked bc i just dropped a few mil on heca cap/legs +1 lol and didnt want to see them immediately outdated

I've easily gotten attack+ on my heca cap +1 a few times, currently at +10 which I'm assuming is as high as it goes but I'd love to hear otherwise. Can also get random pool STR or DEX if you're really lucky, I'm stuck with 5 INT on mine at the moment though lol, saw +3 DEX once but no attack. I hate the random augment system. Can't get my STR on my feet above +2 while keeping my +5 attack either.

I think int is common though. I've gotten it way too many times for it to be in a league with something like str or dex.

I'm still missing some ws gear. I use 95 Mandau & Aluh Jambiya. I don't have heca cap yet (currently using Aias bonnet). I'm using Loki body, Athos legs and feet, Kemas and a Thunder pearl earring. <.<; I think the rest of my gear is the same as posted above.

Using Kinematics THF DPS calculator this was the absolute best set up I could find for pairing with SA:
Mandau should be in the Main hand of course.... I can't get the weps to change places...

Should be pointed out that Athos body goes back and forth with Toci harness depending on buffs and mob. For TAMercy, Athos wins hands down.

Toci vs Loki
BG wiki said: WS Base Damage = floor(( Weapon Base Damage + (Ammo Damage) + fSTR + WSC ) * fTP)
WS Damage = WS Base Damage * pDIF
WSC = floor (floor((A x A%) + (B x B%)) x α)
α = .85 @ lv99
STR: 166 with Toci
WSC = floor(99.6 * 0.85) = 84
STR: 153 with Loki
WSC = floor(91.8 * 0.85) = 78
upper cap of fSTR is Weapon Rank+8
Mandau 99 is 55, so fSTR max = floor(55/9) + 8 = 14
WS Base Damage = floor(( 55 + 0 + 14 + 84) * 3) = 459 [Toci]
WS Base Damage = floor(( 55 + 0 + 14 + 78) * 3) = 441 [Loki]
If using sneak attack, pDIF turn ~3
BG wiki said: Critical Hit Damage is determined by Base Damage, fSTR, Critical pDIF, and the sum of direct modifiers such as Critical Attack Bonus job trait and the other Job Abilities/equipment that enhance it.
Equation: Critical Hit Damage = (Base Damage + fSTR)*Critical pDIF*(Sum of Direct Modifiers)
THF98 = +14%
Loki have 5% crit dmg increase.
WS Damage = 459 * 3 = 1377 * 1.14 = 1569 Toci
WS Damage = 441 * 3 = 1323 * 1.19 = 1574 Loki
With pDIF = 2
WS Damage = 459 * 2 = 918 * 1.14 = 1046 Toci
WS Damage = 441 * 2 = 882 * 1.19 = 1049 Loki
Can someone help me to understand where did i mess up to end with Loki do more damage then Toci? (of course i could use Athos's Tabard as a better example)
If i ask that is also because i notice a dmg decrease since Toci, and try to figue it out, Toci just good when TA or SA down?

Sounds about right. Toci does look really impressive, but it's not that much different compared to Athos when you do the math.

Sneak Attack:
Damage = (Base Damage + Total DEX) x critical hit pDIF
There not much info i can find for SA-MS, so is this formula correct:
Sneak attack:
WS Base Damage = floor(( Weapon Base Damage + fSTR + WSC ) * fTP) + DEX
Trick attack:
WS Base Damage = floor(( Weapon Base Damage + fSTR + WSC ) * fTP) + AGI
Sneak Attack + Trick attack:
WS Base Damage = floor(( Weapon Base Damage + fSTR + WSC ) * fTP) + DEX + AGI
If so, my scenario would turn:
DEX = 144
WS Base Damage = floor(( 55 + 14 + 84) * 3) + 144 = 603 [Toci]
WS Base Damage = floor(( 55 + 14 + 78) * 3) + 142 = 583 [Loki]
WS Base Damage = floor(( 55 + 14 + 85) * 3) + 146 = 608 [Khepri Jacket]
WS Base Damage = floor(( 55 + 14 + 78) * 3) + 146 = 587 [Athos's Tabard]
WS Damage = 603 * 3 = 1809 * 1.14 = 2062 * 1.40 = 2886 Toci
WS Damage = 583 * 3 = 1749 * 1.19 = 2081 * 1.40 = 2913 Loki
WS Damage = 608 * 3 = 1824 * 1.14 = 2079 * 1.40 = 2910 Khepri Jacket
WS Damage = 587 * 3 = 1761 * 1.19 = 2095 * 1.40 = 2933 Athos's Tabard
1.40 = Mercy stroke 40% bonus @ lv99.
So Khepri and Toci are not as great as we could think and best option is still Loki or Athos =(

Sure, if you ignore any multi hit gear and have capped attack always on THF.

Sneak attack:
WS Base Damage = floor(( Weapon Base Damage + (Ammo Damage) + DEX + fSTR + WSC ) * fTP)
Trick attack:
WS Base Damage = floor(( Weapon Base Damage + (Ammo Damage) + AGI + fSTR + WSC ) * fTP)
Sneak Attack + Trick attack:
WS Base Damage = floor(( Weapon Base Damage + (Ammo Damage) + DEX + AGI + fSTR + WSC ) * fTP) These numbers are inflated at least a bit because AGI and DEX don't get multiplied by http://fTP.

What's wrong with Athos body? I think it looks better than Toci; I'm not a fan of feathers.
And as previously mentioned, Toci pulls ahead when DA/TA/QA procs, since Athos does jack squat for Mercy on those hits. I'm currently trying to get a Toci, but only because there's nothing else I want and I need to burn voidstones somehow. The plan is to macro it in only when I pop Assassin's Charge.

Would rather try for Tessera Saio in that case.

Justiciar's Torque
WS Base Damage = floor(( 55 + 14 + 84) * 3) + 144 = 603 [Toci]
WS Base Damage = floor(( 55 + 14 + 78) * 3) + 142 = 583 [Loki]
WS Base Damage = floor(( 55 + 14 + 85) * 3) + 146 = 608 [Khepri Jacket]
WS Base Damage = floor(( 55 + 14 + 78) * 3) + 146 = 587 [Athos's Tabard]
Element Torque
WS Base Damage = floor(( 55 + 14 + 82) * 3.1) + 144 = 612 [Toci]
WS Base Damage = floor(( 55 + 14 + 75) * 3.1) + 142 = 588 [Loki]
WS Base Damage = floor(( 55 + 14 + 83) * 3.1) + 146 = 617 [Khepri Jacket]
WS Base Damage = floor(( 55 + 14 + 75) * 3.1) + 146 = 592 [Athos's Tabard]
Why do you guy use Justiciar's Torque + Prosilio Belt and Toki. that give you -2% DA, like Serj said early, better just use element torque at this point.
Edit, I can assume for triple attack (11%), so idk, if go with this path, why not windbuffet + triplus dagger, brutal, Epona's Ring: TA: 19, QA: 1, DA 11.

Your numbers don't account for pdif at all, so of course pieces which enhance attack aren't going to appear at their full strength.

situational is situational, pdif in general is not that much an issue (VW t1/2/3, dynamis, sky, jar, etc), and to be serious idk how it work on your server but on fenrir we don't use THF as main DD on REX/Isga.
Not saying your point is flawed, not at all, is actually a good point, but in general, that just do not apply that way.
So I'm slowly working towards upgrading my set for stroke atm (pretty lulszy at the moment, but its getting there.) Wondering if the STR dagger would be a good option among other things. Already plan on picking up a Pyrosoul, Vulcan's Pearl and possible oce +1 body. I'd like to get heca cap but probably never will honestly. Any suggestions on what else to upgrade/look into? Disregard ws'ing in epona's cuz I'm too cheap to buy a junk str ring while I save for Pyrosoul :)
