McCain was questioned quite extensively about his citizenship due to the fact he was born in the Panama Canal zone. He produced his certificate immediately showing that he had citizenship rights due to his father served in the military, and McCain was born in an US Military base in the Panama Canal Zone. He was a natural born child, born of natural born citizens at the time of his birth. The Panama Canal Zone was a US territory when McCain was born in 1936.

Of course no one remembers THAT...

....

Go on. You still haven't touched upon Obama being a Muslim secretly trying to indoctrinate us to the faith of Allah.

Or the fact that Obama hates white people and wants to see everyone put in internment camps.

Or the fact that the healthcare reform bill will destroy the country.

Or the fact that pulling out of Iraq constituted a failure of the mission.

Or the fact that he bailed out the auto industry and showed tremendous weakness during the financial collapse.

Or that killing Osama bin Laden was just foreign policy luck. He knew where Bin Laden was anyway, being Muslim and all. Telepathy.

Or the fact that he wants to turn this country into a fascist state.

I miss any other truths?

Not putting his hand on the Bible during the inauguration has nothing to do with being American or not. At worst (and this is not even bad, in my opinion) it shows that he is non-religious or holds a different religion than Christianity. So bloody what. At best (again, this isn't my definition of best/worst, it's more what I imagine what the people hold as important), it's showing support for a separation of church and state. If you disagree with the separation of church and state, I think you should see some quotes from our founding fathers on the matter.

[Spoiler Snip for epic post]
I'm really sorry about the political bullcrap. Really, I am. Because in this election, who I vote for has nothing to do with who I agree with politically and everything to do with who is going to defend my rights instead of try to take them away. And even if Obama doesn't actually have my rights in mind, at least he's not trying to actively destroy them in the name of 'personhood' rights!

After reading that, I think Leila should be president.

Leila totally summed up my feelings of the actions of the theocrats, dropped a knowledge bomb regarding the founders and demonstrated how no matter how hard the (extreme) right cries about government intervention that they have no problem with intervening on women's rights and reproductive freedom using the state.

When I heard about the mandatory transvaginal ultra-sound thing, I thought it was hyperbole.

Apparently it's okay, because they don't actually have to look at the screen. So instead of some vile attempt at guilt-tripping, it's just sexual assault with a foreign object. Under God indeed.

I read something about Obama's secret service men getting their jimmies rustled in Colombia by some hookers. I'm actually amazed the story hasn't made front page news. Then again the media only lets you know what they want to let you know.

Holds no relevance to the thread, and I don't care if they paid for sex. I just figured the shitstorm was a brewin, so I grabbed my poncho.

No...I am laughing at the absurdity of the come-backs to seriousness. The majority of you aren't worth my time debating. You throw trash back to serious comments and only YOUR truth (opinions) are real.

Aren't most political or religion threads just all of us chasing our tails?

Her opinions are just as valid as everyone else's on here. If you want to skip over them, fine. Don't boast about it though. No need to be a ***!

Opinions that cannot be substantiated by facts are not "just as valid".

1: I feel that the sky is purple today.

2: It's not.

1: But like, that's just my opinion, man.

So you are completely opposed to reading anecdotes that people use to legitimize their personal belief structures, getting insight on why a person would choose their stance, etc.? How do you interact with people IRL?
