Why?

Sword strap is a better option for 6hit and Rose strap is (usually) a better option for 5hit, I'm not sure how that is now with ogier hands tho?

When I try to figure out some sets for Cata aftermath recently I usually end up with so much close calls that I have really no idea what to choose.

You pretty much looking at a need to have:

5hit /sam set with LR+marches
5hit /sam set without LR or marches
/war VW set with marches+LR
/war VW set without marches or LR
/sam VW set with ...
/sam VW set without ...


Idk maybe something like that for VW /war marches+LR set:


For LR or marches down:
Windbuffet -> Phasmida
Bale -> Calmecac ?? Im not sure of that because that a lot of acc loss here so maybe Jingang -> Ryuga instead?

/sam 5 hit build with marches+LR

windbuffet to phasmida for LR or marches down.

Now about near future

5 hit build /war


What you guys think?

This is what i plan to use, minus hq hauberk, for 5-hit:

TP (+6 STP on body)


WS (+6 STP on body):


Maths out better than, but very close to, rose strap + bale neck for TP and Abyss Gauntlets +2 for WS, but it's so close it's not even worth mentioning. This setup falls behind Ganesha's Mala by a bigger margin though, which isn't an option for this build since you need the STP neck w/o rose strap.

Have you done neo nyzul?

Floor 80 gear is iffy, 100 seems near impossible without extreme luck and a group willing to put the time into a poorly made event.

Well now that I got my spellcast straightened out looking for a little gear advice on what I can pick up now on the ah, and what rare/ex items I can go for my aftermath, lr up and lr down sets.

I'd start by putting spoilers around large blocks of code.

You can probably get away with sticking to Twilight Mail regardless of pDIF. Anywhere attack is deficient on DRK, you may well find accuracy deficient as well even with Apoc. Barring acc you'll find them basically equal in uncapped Ratio situations.

Sets shouldn't be based on buffs up/down given that you may have capped Ratio without LR and in some situations may even have uncapped Ratio even with LR up. Make a toggle instead.

AF2+2 hands for Cata, Windbuffet Belt too. Bear in mind that Sword Strap is counterproductive if you're capping delay reduction and consider carrying around a Pole Grip or Rose Strap (with appropriate revisions to STP gear) if you're expecting marches or Embrava.

not really cappying delay reductions, most of the time i'm dual boxing something so no bard and definitely no embrava. Obviously af2+2 hands for cata, but trying to get 4 more touches.

And so far having my body switches for lr up and down has been nice at least while doing trials.

A follow-up question to the xml question. Is there a way to make it so that this will only activate during a specific group? In other words, a way to make it so the aftermath set goes in for Apoc aftermath, but not for Caladbolg aftermath?

The way I did that, I made TPAM sets in all my non-apoc groups, but just made them have baseset=tp, so it's the same set as normal tp set.

Then just have different sets for your aftermath.

Also, you can use "inherit" in your groups to get away from having to type the same sets over for each group. It works like this...

Feedback on this set? I don't use this currently as I don't have hands or neck piece. Reasons for considering it are I don't lose Crit hit rate for tp from body and it allows for roughly 13% da, 4% ta and 1% qa while being just below haste cap since in gear + cata you'd be at 25%. Also I like this particular set because you can cata in rajas, brutal and rose strap while not having to sacrifice other gear for store tp.

Main reason I was looking at this set was I'm not a fan of losing out on ws, but if people have better cata/aftermath sets for me to look at i'd be glad to take a look... that was calculated at 2 in the morning from being unable to sleep lol

been thinking about leveling drk and getting apoc 95 rag 95 instead of 99 my vere but havent fully decided. Would you guys prefer 99 apoc over 95 apoc + 95 rag? I want to start doing legion and im thinking an apoc drk would be pretty nice since groups look like they are usually spread out.

However, I just recently got a Drachenhorn and was wondering if that will be a better head to WS in?

Entropy(if you bothered to merit it) on non-Mekira proc days.

I never understood why people made such a big deal over it.

I never understood why people made such a big deal over it.
I've got it merited however I'll probably be taking them off soon for Upheaval, so I'm guessing it's not useful for DRK. Thanks for the fast reply's.
