Ebisu adds a bit of auto-deplete to fish, depending on your fishing skill (there's some debate about whether it raises your skill or just lowers the skill tiers necessary to have auto-deplete, but whatever, the effect is the same). It's just better at tiring out fish than anything else, plus, if you plan to fish the big catches out there that can break Lu Shang's, it's a load off your mind that it will never get snapped. Plus, as a windfall, you can sell your Lu Shang's for a very tidy sum.

For my next Matsya run I'm looking to take someone to hold the monsters. My mule only has whm and bst atm but I'm thinking maybe sleeps or pld/dnc maybe. Any suggestions?

I'm 45k GP from serpent rumors and 2/2 on ebisu items. I just reached 87 and have considered Pterygotus, Armored Pices, and Black Sole while I wait for GP to accumulate and skill.


However, since I'd like to continue to skill up while awaiting the ebisu, and my ultimate goal is 110/ebisu/shaper's shawl/haks, is it reasonable to expect I can fish up Crocodilos or Pelazoea at this level w/o breaking my lu?

hello everyone so im 53 fishing and just bought my lu. decided that i want that cape from turning in matsya. i have 20k gp so far.

from my understanding i can skill up on anything so i decided to kill 2 birds with 1 stone and fish up cave cherax. so far im 200 didnt catch anything and 12 cave cherax. am i on the right path as long as i cap out on 200 a day? any tips pointers are welcome :D

AoE sleeps are nice, (Need defensive capabilities too, like BLU) PLD/DNC would be np, just tank, and deaggro them when they start to hit harder. Just run around till they deaggro, run to the bridge, and claim them if you didn't reel them in. The ones that the pld/dnc reeled in (if any) would auto-aggro on range

Since I recieved ebisu yesterday been fishing Cave Cherax....
Not really getting many if any skill up from these... I'm like literally ~.3 from 88 ><

current at 65.4 fishing on my main need both ebisu items, if anyone on fenrir would mind helping me get the items i could help you make a empy weapon or farm dyna or nyzul or something in return or if not i could pay 20k per fish i know its cheaper but kinda broke in game at the moment.

are you manually fishing?

i suppose even if so and you have an ebisu, hakuryu is the best in terms of your time, though im not sure if you can pull them up at that level.

bst is fine to hold the mob, just 2hr ur pet, and u wont have to pay much attention to him.

and yeah, you want to catch EVERYTHING or else you are losing bait, after those 5 mobs are pulling up, thats one less thing to lose bait from, other than jellyfish.

Most today's fisherman don't understand how fishing really works sadly. Even came across someone fishing Gug's the other night who was pulling them up in 5-7 seconds and said it's because he has Mooching. Using meatball bait too no less.

Okay, if true, then wow... can't believe I never heard that before. Doesn't make much difference, though. I don't have any friends whom I can really bring to hold mobs and I don't have a job that can reliably hold them either.

okay its been a good night xD 65.4 fishing and i got both my ebisu items tonight 1/130~ on liks and 1/150~ on gugs numbers might be off withen 50-100 cause i didnt keep track of first sets i bought

I don't think that works, unless it works per person. There was someone there holding mobs this morning and he had several pugils on him (he was pulling off 2-3 people though). Additionally I think you can fish with sneak on and the mob wont aggro? Vaguely remember that working at devil manta but not 100% sure.

at 86 i would go to Armored pisces till 100ish then do haks/cherx AP have a waaaaaay higher bite rate and can cap 200 in about 6hrs so alot faster skill ups can stay there til 105ish if u like

true, but the mobs depop after a short time when sneak fishing.
