I personally hated Nashmau because of how bad the bite rates were, so I'm skilling up Talacca at the moment. I will be moving to Armored Pisces at 86. I keep my satchel completely empty, and keep some space in my Mog Sack. I don't run out of space while fishing because of having those spaces open.

Well, decided to try Armored Pisces for myself.

Went as THF/BLM (my usual choice when fishing - Fajin Boots + Flee + Warp/Escape). Getting to the Armored Pisces camp is rather simple with VW teleport to the Gusgen Mines entrance.

As for my previous comment about losing gil, it was so quick to get there that I'd warp back to sell when I got full (I think 4 times?), only losing catches when I still had my enchant active from my skillup ring but would warp as soon as it wore. Overall I'd say it went well. Bite rate wasn't that great but seemed slightly better than Pterygotus' at around 1 bite per 4 casts. Skill ups seemed very nice though, netting just over 2 levels of skill.

The nicest part was it wasn't Nashmau anymore! Was getting kind of sick of that place to be honest.

I was wondering on how much Fishing skill the Furnishings give. Im currently working on Fishing hole map and signboard. I have stall and the big one and they give me Mega Moglification. Iv also read on wiki but they can be wrong also.

I'm just very skeptical about putting hours more of work into getting more GP items when it seems utterly random

I notice a clear difference between someone with 100 fishing and ebisu and someone with 100 fishing, ebisu, and all the furnishings.

on a 93 fishing account I pulled up 145 haks in a day, I dont keep track of breaks but as far as fishing 24hrs straight goes its about on par with what I usually get using minnows and 104 skill on fondue

the only thing i've noticed making any sort of difference is sinking minnows lol

Are you not using the rings? That should increase sinking minnows effectiveness by 5%.

Sinking Minnow = Black Sole (Small) + Hakuryu (Large)

Minnow = Cone Calamary (Small) + Bluetail (Small) + Gigant Squid (Large) + Hakuryu (Large)

By using the rings with minnow you're increasing the bite rate by ~5% for both Giant Squid and Hakuryu while still having 2 other small fish options on your line. By using Sinking Minnow you are only increasing Hakuryu by 5% since there are no other large fish options while reducing the only other fish option, black sole, which is a small fish option. That's why Sinking Minnows are better.

I just started using sinking minnows recently, was too lazy to ride the boat but I think I got 190 the last day I sat out there fishing.. not sure if that's typical or what but more than I've ever got before using normal minnows

sold on the bait of course, but as far as skill items goes lol randombreaks are random

what if the fish was like level 150 and no matter if you added 1 skill or 20 youre still floored on linebreak rate

I'd say the average is around 10-12 an hour, maybe less maybe more depending on your "luck", that's 180 fish basically in 15 hours with the 5% bonus from rings you'll likely see around 9 more fish than w/o them.

13 catches in about 50 minutes with I think 1 more before the hour was over with sinking minnow.

am I reading this right? the item to make the fishing stall is only 15k GP, then you can put the stall and "The Big One" in your house for mega moglification?

Well, I went all out and got all the GP furniture and then some:

Fishermen's stall
fisherman's signboard
fishing hole map
net and lure
stuffed "big one"

(Got these too 'cause they just matched.)
set of stockfish
supply table
supply stand

So how much skill exactly am I receiving from the Mega Moglification?
