I'm sure if we had enough black mages and this stuff we could wipe out the entire zombie population. Just need a good vantage point.

lets assume only .05% of the population is not infected, that is 6.5B zombies minus 3.25M people to fight that many, I dunno if thatll happen, even if we had 1% that would be 65M survivors against 6,436,000,000 Zombies.

Numbers mean nothing with the proper plan.. I think The Battle of Thermopylae taught us that. By all rights they should have been slaughtered within hours, but held out and were only defeated by a betrayal.. Which is where our adaptability comes in.. Assuming a horde of zombies managed to out flank us, we could adapt, we wouldn't be facing a battle strategist, just a horde looking for food.

With the proper planning, a zombie horde's numbers mean nothing.

I didn't put your PUP idea down at all, all i said was when I imagine a PUP in real life, I can imagine a guy with a remote control, moving a robot.

Even if lets say Brews did exist in this realm, they would be very rare (as listed in the rules items are limited supply) and we'd be using RL weapons, they we would have swords and spears and guns and stuff, but they wouldn't be "final fantasy" weapons.

I think this topic should just be renamed: "Weapon of Choice: Zombie Invasion"

Not really fun adding the final fantasy aspect if you make us colour within the lines.

Luckily zombies cannot swim across oceans, and population density is subjective to your location. Best place to take shelter or base would be somewhere very vast and open.... Like Kansas.

I like my vantage point in Texas... With almost every family owning at least one gun, some people having glorified ammo dumps for houses.. I think a select group of people could first take out all of the zombies in one of our many military bases and then fortify that position and just take all comers.

I have a friend who has an ammo dump, and his brother has an even bigger ammo dump.. I swear you literally cannot go 5 minutes talking to either without guns being brought up in some fashion or another..

But those don't interest me.. I like the fact that in Texas nearly everyone has a veritable brewery..

What good is surviving the zombie apocalypse if you aren't drunk enough to enjoy it?

Well if you take FFXI aways, it'snot a FFXI zombie survival anymore. Failthread, just another normal zombie apocalypse+magic..so more like Harry Potter zombie survival.

Easy Summoner. Sit in a high place let summons kill for you then rest rinse repeat. Auto-refresh to get mp/stamina back.

Inb4: "no can't do that" + new rules.

I remember there being a thread similar to this before that I made.

I'd probably be the bard of a group and tag onto a BLM so I could keep his MP up, sleep incoming zombies with horde lullaby and carnage elegy any that got close.

Also Chocobo Mazurka if things got sticky.

Dragoon all the way. You've got fairly heavy armor, making it hard for Zombies to bite you, you have a medium range weapon, to keep zombies away from you, and a Wyvern to help you out with ripping zombie heads off or brining you a new weapon in a pinch.

Whitemage, viruna for those that get bit, banishga if you get surrounded, stoneskin + protect.

Ranger wouldn't be bad either, just throw a couple barrages into the horde.

BLM with meteor would be a safe option if surrounded with no hope of escape too lol.

Since I already live in Kansas, I'll survive much longer than you fellas! Possibly if I went emo Drk they'd be too afraid of catching my emo to eat my brain? If not I'd go with Nin and sneak invis for the total of 12 toolbags of each tool :D.

I would go RNG, for this:

It's not that loud, you'd almost never run out of ammo (if it's safe, you can pick up used shots and make them useful again), etc etc.

I think a lot of jobs would be at a disadvantage if a single zombie bite meant infection. I would have to go with thf. High evasion would mean zombies would have a hard time hitting you. Plus thf armor is lightweight so it wouldn't slow you down. You would have the choice of daggers, swords, clubs, bows, and yes even a few guns. Since zombies don't use magic, (in rl, not sure about ff lore) then perfect dodge is all win. And if things got really bad you could always flee.

Irl though high evasion is like having a nicer car, yeah it's cool but the other cars get you to the same place. Agility would be more beneficial to get away from them.

you can do that, duh, but resting isnt something you'd get in like 5 mins and be fully set, you'd drain your mp, you'd need a long time to recover it, auto refresh would just increase the time before needing a rest.

If you set no restrictions than being in a FFXI world during a Zombie Apoc. would be easy, you have to make some kind of difficulty. cause mages alone would just manaburn or a group of smns would smn burn and so on and not have to worry since they can recover mp fast like the game.

Yes WHMs would be very important, being able to cure the virus on you, but i would suppose they would suppose it would be very draining for them to remove such a potent virus, no?

RNG would fit easily in this world, since they would be just any great sniper/sharpshooter.

And with BLM lets hope they are the only one there, not to accidently kill other survivors

Certainly black mage. You can nuke them with fire. If the situation gets hairy, you have many modes of getting yourself out of there: Escape, Warp, etc.

This also begs the question of the exact real life applications of warp. Would I be technically able to warp to the top of a tall tree, so that I could take a nap and regain my stamina? If so, then black mage is a no brainer.
