talking about the whole world of the end thing I was gonna ask in that thread, but I didn't wanna get off topic, so I ask here.

How would FFXI jobs fit in the role of a Zombie Apocalypse?

RULES
-------------------
1)Armor and Weapons are from the real world, not FFXI
2)All Job's Traits, Abilities and Spells exist.
3)Death is forever, so no Raise/reraise or Home pointing.
4)Items are very limited (Potions, Ethers, Oils, Powders, Ninja Tools, etc)
5)HP/MP recover is no longer very quick and will take time decent amount of time to recover. (lets say a full heal would require a full day of rest)

EDIT on 2

B) Any job abilities that have dramatic effects on the body and would have these negative effects after use.

@) Any abilities that increase damage, defense, speed or evasion will increase fatigue of the user.
@) Any abilities that modify spell use (IE Manafont, Chainspell, Soul Voice, etc) Will cause a fatigue on spells (make them unusable right, duration based on what is used, 2hrs take more rest to recover)
@)BST 2hr will cause the pet to hate the user and it may attack in a rage
@)Any Ability that is an attack itself (IE Eagle Eye, Jump, etc) Will break weapons after use

Break down

HP/MP = Stamina. In case of classes with both, MP drains before hp.

TP = Adrenaline. Instead of being used for weapon skills, it would allow your body to keep pushing forward while your stamina decreases.

EDIT on 3

@)Once you select a job, that is your job, you won't be able to change
@)There are no sub jobs, so mix and matching won't do you any good.
@)Just like FFXI were you have mp pool, Bigger spells drain your stamina much faster, so a person wouldnt be able to drop like 5 Flood IIs and be ok, they could probably drop 1 or 2 max than be out of stamina.

There's already threads on this, albeit mostly are entire threads of off topic discussion after one post just leads us all that direction. Nevertheless I shall answer, although the second portion is dead to me <_< What do weapons really matter when you have Tornado or Quake, and Stoneskin or Viruna..

Short sword/machete, hammer, screw driver (if it had both phillips and flat head, if not, then two), survival knife, Assault Rifle/SMG (AK47 [for the caliber size and the amount of ammo readily available, and it's extremely strong track record in terms of reliability] or Thompson SMG (same reasons for the AK) LED flashlight, hand crank radio, and the basic 'survival kit'.

PUP/NIN~

All you need to survive~ '-')b

If you want to be fancy -- PUP/SCH

Edit:

Also, BST would be pretty much useless here. >_>;

Are you insane?

A PUP/NIN would probably be the BEST choice for a zombie invasion.

You have:
A Healer
A Nuker
A Tank
A Sharpshooter

You could virtually never run out of a puppet using Deus Ex Automata.

Although PUP would be very effective taking out zombies 1v1, you could always send your tank pup into the middle of a mob (Assuming these Zombies link) and {Run Away!}
Also, JA's like Ventriloquy and Role Reversal would make PUP a very good choice.

I added /NIN just in the event of an ambush attack.
Also, may I add that our WHM frame has VIRUNA BIT-HES! <3

Although, I suppose a WHM with Yagrush would be optimal assuming Viruna is effective. >_>

A Yagrush WHM with Stoneskin could go into the middle of a zombie mob and rid them of the virus~ :3

Quoting myself because I'm that classy.

You wouldn't have to worry about these things as a BLU. Get bitten and you'll totally gain all the powers of a zombie.

I thought it was like, you have to get bit by a zombie and than defeat it and than there is a chance you'll gain it?

I'd certainly like to see how an evasion build would work in a zombie swarm, them zombies whiffing and biting midair, har har.

That sounds rather counter productive wouldn't you think?
Bad enough turning into a Soulflayer when you fail to contain the souls of monsters within your own, but to take in something undead and fall victim to that is pretty gnarly.

Has there ever been a friendly zombie within their lore and media? Aside from Ghouls from Fallout of course...

PUP in RL = Police bomb squad officer with anti-bomb robot.

EDIT

(This just how I can imagine a PUP working out in real life)

I'm sure if we had enough black mages and this stuff we could wipe out the entire zombie population. Just need a good vantage point.
