I unlocked CITV station, but no one ever wants to laser for me, or maybe not many people have it unlocked.
Most likely the case, people are just now starting to unlock major things unfortunately and also may have no idea how to even use it.
I finally got into a decent game last night where 3/4 people had mics and were helping each other out in major ways as well as good discussion and such.
I hope more people come around to voice chat (Sorry ps3 players rofl.)

Okay so I somehow stumbled upon talk of Dinosaur Mode(like zombie mode on CoD). It seems more like a joke from the developers, but I gotta say, it would pretty pretty damn cool to fight off hoards of dinosaurs.
It supposedly started on 4chan as someone saying BF3 would be better than MW3 if it had more dinosaurs(in response to the toy dinosaur at the beginning of the beta?[didn't play the beta]). In turn they released these pics:
Rumored to maybe come as a DLC as it's gotten a lot of hype, but I doubt it, cause like I said, I think it's just the developers having some fun.
New PC patch is out, they fixed/changed a lot. (For instance now if you're in the middle of throwing a grenade and get shot before you do, you'll drop the grenade instead of it just disappearing).

Today's PC client patch features numerous tweaks to Squad functionality and is part of our ongoing efforts to make it easier to play with friends and Platoon mates. These changes will also be implemented for consoles when we release the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 updates shortly. Stay tuned for the exact date of the console updates.
First, we need to look at how joining with Squads and Platoons affects the balance of teams. Initially, servers are commanded to equal out each side, so joining with friends can impact that balance while joining with Platoons further hinders this. As a result we have made some adjustments to the in-game Squad management screen.
For PC, you are now able to highlight the various Squads and select which one you wish to join by selecting a Squad and then clicking the Join Squad button. Please note that the Squad Privacy option still allows 2 man Squads which, during 64 player sessions, can lead to players with no squad position –- the number of people with no Squads will be shown at the bottom of the Squad selection list.
After the patch is applied to consoles (in the near future) you will be able to join Squads by cycling through the list and selecting which Squad you wish to join.

I hope a lot of this stuff isn't reflected on PS3. SCAR and G3 are in no way over-powered imo; they're strong, but their crap clip size makes up for it. Stingers seem okay to me as well. AA guns on the other hand already seem extremely powerful.
A little irritated with my SCAR-H nerf, and by a little i meant a lot >_> Service star 32 on that damn thing and i know the weapon inside out and how to account for situations... this better not throw things off too bad or i may have to retire to the G36C afterall.
BLAH....
Anyhoo i know PS3 has chat but from what i'm seeing on the official forums it doesn't work for quite a few people. Major VOIP issues and they acknowledged it and looking into the issues.
If I could get an extended mag on the SCAR I'd probably be using that, but as it is now, I constantly get killed because of it's small magazine size.. Basically have to reload after every enemy killed, and there's usually at least one other enemy who just saw his teammate die and finds me before I can reload.
I <3 my G36 far more than I liked the SCAR or the AH.
Only thing with the AH is I could rely on the last bullet to kill someone in a large group firefight.
Every time it was 3 v 1 the last round I fired always killed the last guy xD
well.... i THOUGHT i was pretty decent in a chopper... until i just saw this... epic teamwork is epic. I wish i could find a co-pilot nearly that good lol...
ME: Did you see where that missile came from?
ME: ...?
ME: *Looks at empty gunner seat and looks below to see that he bailed and parachuted out*
ME: ......
Lol, you know how often people on the forums say the choppers are pointless to fly because they're too weak and vulnerable? It's just because they suck, I've seen people like this in games, I really, REALLY hate when they're on the enemy team.
I'm a decent pilot, the only thing I have problems with is target acquisition. I can keep from crashing, even when flying low to the ground, I just suck at finding targets for the gunner. I always seem to be flying over the wrong flags.
They are weak and vulnerable though, that team sucked. Any decent team would have shot him down handily. It doesn't mean you can't do work in a helo, especially with good communication but you still go down fast.
SOFLAM + Javelins + enemy helo + AA + Tank MG's + any small arms if you're flying a scout chopper = easily handled
That doesn't even address if your jets suck the enemy jets will rape you too
By that logic all vehicles are weak and vulnerable. It doesn't take a good team to take down choppers just as having a great team doesn't mean the choppers will kept getting put down.
They were alternating flares and even landing to repair if they actually took damage. That was pure skill not a bad team, i can tell easily because of the pure amount of locks. When things got bad they dipped low and followed rivers or got out of there... then turned around to *** the situation. Also being the fact that 90% of the other players catch interest in the next random thing like a cat with a laser pointer, its easy to shake people with that style of flying skill.
I saw too many locks and pings of damage to say nobody was trying to shoot them down, in fact quite a few looked to be trying.
To Rearden's defense though if everyone banded together and stopped focus on everything at once and went for the chopper, sure probably toast... but good luck with that one.
I fly like that all the time though - the difference is whether the other team sucks or not. Most of my flying kills/assists come from flying around once or twice and seeing if the other team has their ***together. Most of the time you can go on a roll and then all the engis bring stingers out (barring a SOFLAM)
Especially especially especially if there is a SOFLAM up it's almost impossible to fly around. It negates half the map usually, the other half can be covered by the AA.
Maps like Kharg/Caspian/Canals on CQ are nightmares to fly, though personally I like Kharg the best because the terrain is more favorable for evasion. The islands/mountain/boats/buildings surround you, the only problem being that most of the action happens in an area it's very easy to throw a SOFLAM up and there's nowhere to run.
Those guys were good, really good. The other team was not though.
Edit: Also, controls feel more sluggish after the patch, anyone else notice this or is my stick broken? I can't believe they'd make them even slower but rotor turning is not stop on a dime fast anymore.
Decided to go ahead and make a thread on it since there isn't one yet, and wanted to see who all is getting it?
Well PC version anyways, I hate playing FPS on console, it's one of the few (maybe the only?) genre where playing on PC actually makes the most sense (due to keyboard/mouse rather than controller. Mouse makes for far better reaction times, using a keyboard takes some getting used to though). If you plan on getting it on PC we should hook up in game and pop some heads. :).
I will be pre-ordering it, nothing could stand in my way of getting it.. I'm a huge Battlefield fan, and have been since 1942.
I was actually in a state of shock when I saw that 3 was on it's way.. I hadn't actually kept up on the next/newest installments, and while I love BC and BC2, there's just no Battlefield on console that compares to BF2 (and arguably, no FPS on console period that does).
