Love how they market the games to make people believe that.
Go out and shoot a real AR15 w/o any ear protection or a AK and tell me how "Realistic" your game is. Its a fun game dont get me wrong, but no game will ever simulate how it is to fire a real firearm. The noise, recoil, actual travel pattern of the round, and how much damage a round actually does when it hits a target can't, and will never be emulated by a game. Its like pr0n vs. real sex
that's a damn fine point. we were out at the range, & getting ready to leave, when my buddy said "hey you wanna fire my RPK before we go?" O ***ya I said. I let off 5-10 rounds before I realized I had already taken my ears out >.< I couldn't hear a ***' thing for a day & a half

Any chance you have a Mosin-nagant? Or have shot one influencing your name? Really fun rifle too shoot. Holds 5 7.62x54, do kicks like a mule and makes a loud bang. Can pick one up for 80-200USD as well since the Russians had made millions in WWII. Try and get one with a milled receiver though, will notice the difference.

yeah actually. your the first to pick up on that! I have a Mosin-Nagant circa 1938, I have since mounted a scout scope, it's a great weapon. I put a sissy pad on the end of the stock tho, because I could only get through maybe 40-50 rnds before the steel one made me cry for momma. I also have an americanized AK, & a CZ. good times
@Mosin You keep it all original wood or did you sport-tech it out? Saw a Composite M1 and it made me furious. Also if you don't mind me asking what scope did you get for yours? and yea... first time shooting the mosin that metal butt plate had my shoulder bruised for a solid two weeks lol Not the best user friendly rifle, but cheap, powerful and accurate. Also you prefer AK platforms over the AR's? I'm not a huge AR fan tbh, and have always favored the AK, but if I showed up to the amurican range with my beard, a AK and my Russian cap I'd probably be shot in red blooded fury.

*** that! I show up to the range all the time with the AK & my kraut coat. I'll be ready to fight it out >.O I've seen people do the composite on mosin's as well, It's stupid if you ask me. I kept all original wood, broke it down, sanded of the cosmoline, re-finished, it's beautiful. I'll post some pics tomorrow or something, I'm too busy today. AR vs. AK is a tough call, most my friends are AR nuts, my cousin has a slide stock that pretty much turns his fully-auto it's awesome. personally, I prefer AK just because I like the action better, & I love the iron sights on the ***.

When my Mosin started squirting I was originally terrified lol

Realistic is a relative term.. The both of you seem to be thinking that by realistic they mean completely simulating real life. When in reality, it's more likely they meant not just running around Rambo style. Taking cover, moving slow and low, working as a team are musts. In a relative terms, the game IS realistic, because most other FPS are ridiculous. Run and gun, spray and pray, etc.
I'm not even sure why anyone would think that someone else would think that shooting a gun in a video game is like shooting a gun in real life, it makes 0 sense.
realism is definately realative. Slip is right though. if you compare ANY console shooter to BF3, BF3 > all. I've been waiting for a shooter to more closely resemble something real for many, many years. BF3 finally delivers. is it like being on the streets of baghdad in a firefight in RL? probably not. Does it whip the dog ***out of all the other FPS? most definately
Campaign was better than the multiplayer is, in my opinion.
I've been too damn busy ; ; I've played 3 multiplayer battles, & maybe 60% of the campaign. I love both personally. specifically about the campaign, I like the fact that it's a bit of a challenge instead of zerg, zerg, zerg

Campaign gets progressively better, and except for one part of one mission (You'll know it when you get there), it's all consistently good. The ending is probably one of the best endings in FPS history, rivalling CoD4.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon seemed to do a great job with realism. Unfortunately, they never made an effort to do online FPS

.. GRAW and GRAW 2.. Never played the first, but I played the second and hated it. Then again, I expect a good FPS from Ubisoft as much as I expect Blizzard to set a release date and push the game out in a timely fashion.

I should have prefaced that GRAW games don't count as Ghost Recon titles. They were an abomination to what was a great series of games.
They're spawn points. When one is empty and you're at the spawn selection screen, you can spawn directly into the jet.
How to fly it on the other hand, well you're just kinda on your own. I'm only half way decent at it because I put in a ton of time on jets in BF2. The only way to learn is to just do it and learn from your mistakes.
I can tell you this though.. You need to think ahead and give yourself plenty of room and time to line up your target, you'll never really do anything when you're just darting around all over the place randomly picking targets.
The idea is to be flying in a straight line at your target with enough room to completely use up a full load of ammo and enough time afterwards to break off (doesn't do a lot of good to put a full 'clip' into something when you crash into it a split second later).
Once you get used to how the plane handles, how it shoots and such, then you can start learning how to fire at planes and adjust so that you manage to still nail them, even though they're in the middle of a tight turn or twist trying to get you off their tail. Once you get heat seekers, it gets even more fun.

lol yea i just crashed and burned. Tryed to crash it on the other team.
The only fun part of bf3 is flying and crashing the aircraft other than that its worst than black ops in my opinion. For instance im laying down sniping across the map some1 without a freaking scope kills me and im like wtf or no1 beside me then bam im dead and i know no other person was there. its retarted.

I was actually very disappointed with the ending and felt the campaign was very badly paced. I still enjoyed it thoroughly when playing it though.
Was almost a carbon copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops in many respects though.
the only problem I seriously had with BO was the hit detection, from launch to date it was terrible.
Again, that has everything to do with the host system. It picks someone crappy for a host, then everyone lags.
I can murder a group of 6 Veteren AI with a sniper rifle, quickscoping on the move. I get into a lobby with a rapid fire AK74u and I put a clip in someone and can't get a kill.
Decided to go ahead and make a thread on it since there isn't one yet, and wanted to see who all is getting it?
Well PC version anyways, I hate playing FPS on console, it's one of the few (maybe the only?) genre where playing on PC actually makes the most sense (due to keyboard/mouse rather than controller. Mouse makes for far better reaction times, using a keyboard takes some getting used to though). If you plan on getting it on PC we should hook up in game and pop some heads. :).
I will be pre-ordering it, nothing could stand in my way of getting it.. I'm a huge Battlefield fan, and have been since 1942.
I was actually in a state of shock when I saw that 3 was on it's way.. I hadn't actually kept up on the next/newest installments, and while I love BC and BC2, there's just no Battlefield on console that compares to BF2 (and arguably, no FPS on console period that does).
