Crit damage being based on the targets Vit sounds like a War Mighty Strikes nerf to me...Going to reserve judgment on this tho till the actual update and I can get out and parse it.

Oh joy! :D Epic win for Pup in this update.. bout time we got some new attachments, and (for the most part) they look awesome... the weaponskills we will see but they sound great... Im wondering why harly didnt get anything

If anything, I'm happy those jobs received adjustments. As odd as it sounds, the DRK7hit using the Atheling-EAF+2Helm/Body is better than the 6hit, I'm also pretty sure that isn't even a true6, since you have to ws in a lot of ultragimp equip too. I tried to find an example of one of these one-liners wreaking havoc, but I can't find the example I wanted in the old update notes. It seems SE scrubbed them. Does anyone else remember the magic-resistance clusterfuck from the April 2009 update? The update notes on the official FFXI site were scrubbed clean of any reference to this change, but I found a thread here in reference to it: Dasva's post on the update's changes to elemental affinities and magic resistance. I'm not as optimistic as Nightfyre, so I'm half-expecting a nasty nerf to critical hits and critical hit weaponskills with this upcoming VIT adjustment. I'm currently using this (albeit +1 hands and body for the moment) and swapping in other gear for tanking etc. EDIT* Zic beat me to it :x Shield should actually proc.

If played correctly, Dark Knight is still a very deadly job, and I'm already pumping out some serious numbers with Torcleaver in my current set up:
