• Job Traits
• The following job traits will be added:

Job Trait Level Obtained* Effect
Tranquil Heart: WHM Lv.21/RDM Lv.26/SCH Lv.30 - Reduces enmity gain when casting healing magic.
Stalwart Soul: DRK Lv.45 - Reduces HP consumption when using Souleater.
Dead Aim: RNG Lv.50 - Improves power of critical hits for ranged attacks.

*The level indicated is that at which the trait will initially be obtained. Trait effectiveness will subsequently increase at higher levels.

• Certain job traits will see their maximum level of effectiveness adjusted by equipment, magic, and/or job abilities.

Other Adjustments
• VIT will play a role in calculating damage taken from critical hits.
• Experience point penalties when KO’d will be eased for characters level 75 and below.
At levels 1–30, the penalty will be removed entirely. At levels 31–75, the amount of XP lost will be lowered

@ dascorp - last resort merits affects recast time and raises attack + lowers defence by 2% each upgrade, so stacking is irrelevant

Pretty much the smug attitude I had when another mentioned the 3 jobs that were updated. As soon as I read drk, I quickly typed that the LR duration would be the best fix that they could do, who knew SE would actually start listening after years of me claiming to fix LR to "help" drk a bit after all the nerfs they threw at drk(mainly affecting Apoc drk, but drk itself too). Go go new dev team.

Now if only that cap was raised ever so slightly~

I think he's worried that they'll just be like "Remember Desperate blows, yah, only works Pre May 2011, lolsryberserk-1"

I'm glad they found a way to "fix it", though the Jury is still out til patch day, without whoring it to a critical Hit ws. Building on it's natural, innate melee strength of last resort was probably the best "Easy fix" option. I'm worried it'll be too strong though, in a good way. Remember Absorb-TP...

Yeah, well, if we take everything at Face Value, DRK is literally the strongest Melee job outside of Abyssea, bar-none now.

I can't wait to see the cavalcade of mediocrity flocking to the job though. I mean, if I could spot a bandwagon MNK from 9000miles away, It's probably going to be even worse on a job I understand.

Well that depends on buffs, SV marches, not so much 2-3% difference in haste vs other jobs, non SV, probably 5% haste(thats still good), and then when you dont have a brd, 15% over other jobs on top of the 14% increase to attack which on beefy def mobs, thats always a welcome and probably in the bracket a lot of drks may find themselves in.

This makes drk/nin pretty nice aswell, you sacrifice the stp/meditate for sure, but for w/e reason you have to sub /nin atleast you didnt lose the haste in attack speed.

This is a quote from the new update.

If this is player only, great.

But it never is... in the past, calculations for H2H/Dual Weild/Ja's etc, have also had effects on mobs.

This will imply that all Critical Hit WS's and Critical Hit's will be receiving a damage gimp. Considering most mobs do possess fairly high VIT, even if it ends up being a 10-15% Damage Decrease from Crit's it'll be big enough to notice. Especially outside of Abyssea.

:( not very happy right now.
