This is very true. There's some good bands still around, but the music that the masses listens to is asscrap. I miss Grunge.

I have a bit of one myself, but mine's not too bad. It doesn't interfere with gum most of the time. If I eat a lot of food that requires widely opening my jaw (chicken wings, nice big sandwiches, etc.) it starts to hurt and get kinda fatigued.

Mine is only kind of bad on one side and it's just slightly there on the other.

I have a good chance of dislocating my jaw if I open really wide, chew gum, or anything really chewy. Like beef jerky, or a tough steak.

I think it all depends on what kind of metal you like. There's still a lot of bands coming out with good stuff. Amon Amarth's deceiver of the gods was amazing, gonna see them in Toronto in october.

Not that I've ever tried but I can only open my mouth by about 1 - 1 1/2 inches.

There's some outstanding stuff coming out, right now. It's actually an exciting year for some awesome Metal.

Mine pops if I open it too much too, I kinda have to move it to the side a bit so I can open it more (move to side > slight pop > move back in straight line)

I've always been an Amon Amarth fan.

I've not been digging Mastodon's new stuff. I don't like the change in sound over their past few albums. Leviathan was a *** masterpiece.
