Yeah, my ISP hasn't repopulated their DNS caching servers since imgur's domain was frozen a while back.
Go go shitty low tier ISPs. (CenturyLink)
Wonder how many hoops I'd have to jump through with tech support to get them to repopulate their DNS servers.
lol, that's a good question.
I was using google's for a bit until they went glitchy on me the other month, not sure if I am right now or not on the first router, I don't think I am on the 2nd. (cascading).
Could just make your own dns server, but it's more than what most people need, but it'd be good if a lot of people pirate in your house, you can do stuff like block all of adobe's ip's for the whole family.

I'm the only one in my family/house that knows what pirating even is.
Eh, I understood your point behind the benefits related to pirating.
Though editing hosts files is usually just easier and quicker for me. As well as the last thing I downloaded like that was already cracked and didn't need any additional setup.
Google DNS is working fine at the moment though. Really debating on calling tech support, but I don't want to be on the phone for multiple hours trying to get the low-tier incompetent dumbasses to listen to me.
ah, I've only had google's glitch once, and it was weird, not sure on your router but if it's like mine you can put 3 entries, in which case I had google's, google's and Comcast's just in case.
I wouldn't waste your time.
Yeah, I understand that, but I always think of ways to automate stuff, and I wipe my computer fairly often... More than I probably should, about to do my desktop again really.
Like I said, it worked flawlessly for me. But I know it sucked for a large majority of people. Only had a few issues with it and they were fixed with a few tweaks back in the beginning.
Not saying it was a good OS though. Hated how they had like a million svchost processes just to lower the load on a single threaded process.
Yeah, I almost wanted to load it on a machine to test a 64bit driver for something, as a win7 version was never released, but Never was bothered that much by it.
Honestly I barely used it, most of it was on my mother's laptop, but setting up her printer got easier once I migrated it to 7.
All I know is I worked retail when Vista released and none of the old people who came in wanted it, but none of them knew why, and they didn't realize the issues it had weren't going to have an effect on their e-mailing pictures of grandkids and reviewing the local Eat n' Park's coffee.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
