A domestic tabby is usually the best kind of house cat.
Adopt one, don't pay a pet store for some spoiled brat.
Shots and fixed are a must. Declawed is just somewhat cruel if you ask me. Just get couch covers and you'll be fine. Cats tend to ignore clawing posts lol.
I got my kitties at the s.p.c.a. 80 bucks a pop, desexitized included.

Get one from a shelter, too many abandoned kitties. As for how much, I paid like $100 for the shots and spaying, which was alreday done when I adopted mine, it was just rolled into the adoption fee. Didn't get her declawed, my furniture ain't nothing special anyways lol
Spent like another $100 on cat supplies, getter her tags and such, buying toys that SHE NEVER *** TOUCHES EVER and a collar that she won't tolerate for more then 30 seconds before she starts doing backflips trying to get it off.

Depends on the dog. Our Boxer is the most lovable idiot in the world, but having to drop $100 minimum every other month at the vet because she caught this that or the other thing is decidedly not fun. The $3k on the Bladder Stone operation was the best...

True, my dog somehow got a hollowed out bone stuck around her bottom jaw and we had to get the vet to saw it off her at 3am. That was fun!
